I know there are attorney lists and other resources pinned, and I’ve looked through them, but after what we’ve been through, I’m hoping for personal recommendations.

We’ve had an incredibly frustrating experience with ICA. We’ve already paid them $4,400, but communication has been consistently poor. They often disappear for weeks at a time, emails go unanswered, and every time we obtain the documents they’ve requested, another layer of additional documentation or minutiae seems to be required.

I fully understand that the jure sanguinis process is bureaucratic and document-intensive, that’s not my complaint. My issue is the lack of responsiveness and confidence that our case is actually moving forward.

My case itself is relatively straightforward. My mother was born in Italy and had not naturalized before I was born, so I have a direct line. At this point, I’m not happy about it, but willing to write off the $4,400 we’ve already spent if it means working with someone who is competent, responsive, and can actually get our case filed.

Can anyone recommend an attorney in Italy who you’ve personally had a good experience with? I’ll also need assistance with translations.

During the day, I’ve done my PT exercises, I stay moving and sometimes I feel optimistic. Then it starts creeping up hour by hour until boom I’m in excruciating pain. Is that the normal pattern?

I have posted before, had a L5 S1 discectomy 11 years ago for sciatica on left side, haven’t had much trouble since. Hurt my back at the gym about 6 weeks ago, that cleared up and then the sciatica came back, same leg, same pain. I have already seen an acupuncturist, I have seen 2 pain management people (can’t give me a spine shot because I haven’t gotten an MRI yet) and I am doing PT and being religious about doing the exercises plus McGill big 3. I was taking 300mg gabapentin and 4 advil when it got really bad and it sort of took the edge off. Now I am a day into a 5 day dose of prednisone but it has done nothing so far. Last night I took baclofen (muscle relaxer) for the first time and it sort of seemed to work but I was lying down in bed which is when the pain usually abates anyway. I got a theragun massager which felt nice but I worry about aggravating the nerve. I have a TENS machine arriving today. I haven’t bought a seat cushion but if anyone says that is helpful let me know and which one is best.

As you can see, I am trying everything. Any advice on how you got through a flight with sciatica would be greatly appreciated. I also may just try to knock myself out with ambien or Xanax, but I don’t know how that works when you are in pain.

I am currently rereading {MateHub: Legend by Marie Reynard} (don’t let the name or the cover fool you, it’s really good) it got me wondering. Both MCs are in the porn industry. In MM romance, porn stars is a pretty well- established trope. I don’t remember ever reading an MF romance where the woman was a porn star.

So my question is, does that trope exist in MF romance? I am guessing no. And if I am correct, to that I say, fuck the patriarchy..

My sciatica just came back, 11 years after discectomy. The major issue is I am getting on a plane to Italy on Friday and the sitting is excruciating. I need a doctor who will give me a cortisone shot without getting an MRI first. Has anyone worked with someone who has been truly helpful with this sort of thing? Mods, if you keep this up you are getting good karma but if you don’t, I totally get it.

I am having a pretty bad sciatica relapse after many years without. I don’t have a GP but I did a virtual visit with a GP from One Medical, through my health insurance, just so I could get a PT referral. He prescribed gabapentin (300mg a day) which does nothing for me (nor did it in the past.) I am specifically freaking out because I am getting on an 8 hour flight on Friday and sitting is really painful.

My long winded way of saying I would like to try prednisone just for the flight, but will this doctor who doesn’t even know me think I’m a junkie or something if I ask for it? I know it’s not a benzo or anything but it also sounds like doctors prefer to only prescribe it in emergencies. For me this is an emergency but this guy doesn’t know me.

Is that except for a few weeks after surgery, I took not being in pain for granted. You don’t think about it when it doesn’t hurt, but how wonderful is it not to feel pain?!?

I suffered with moderate to severe sciatic for 2.5 years before finally having a discectomy 11 years ago. It relieved my symptoms about 70 percent and then my sciatica went away completely during the pandemic (my theory is when I stopped wearing heels for work.)

About a three weeks ago I strained my back at the gym, had some acupuncture, took it easy, and then when my back was feeling better, stupidly went back to the gym and now I have sciatica, the same exact type as before — left leg, pain from but, down outer thigh to behind my kneecap. Sitting is the worst, but honestly anything by walking or laying down seems to aggravate it.

My question is this — if I wanted to get a cortisone shot (they helped about 50% of the time with my last bout), do I have to have an MRI first? I’m going to Italy next Friday and I am hoping to find some way to alleviate the pain before I have to sit on a plane for 8 hours.

Sorry for my long-winded back story.

I just finished {High Achiever by Grae Bryan} which was MMM and as often happens, two of them had great chemistry but the third (the omega in this case) felt like the odd man out. The book itself was meh, but I really liked the two alphas together. One was a golden retriever bro dude and the other who topped him occasionally and he loved it, was a more serious guy. He would refer to the bottom alpha with endearments like “pretty baby” and he was very attentive to what he liked/needed. It was really hot.

I’ve read alpha/alpha omegaverse where one is very resistant to bottoming but ultimately does. Are there any where an alpha is relatively cool with it? It’s fine if they resist a little because it’s socially embarrassing, but overall are happy getting railed.

I’m an in-house recruiting leader and have been for over 20 years. My friend who is unemployed and struggling sent me this reel. I am not saying it’s wrong, but it has never been my experience.

We use Ashby which does have an AI tool but honestly it’s not great, so we don’t use it much. Someone in the comments asked what companies were using it and the author mentions Workday. I haven’t used Workday for 3 years but it was such shit back then, have they evolved to the point where they have a useful AI resume review tool?

I was unemployed for 14 months and as a recruiter, I mainly applied for roles I was 💯 qualified for. I didn’t get many interviews that way but I think it was mroe because the market was shit (still is) and at my level, you get in through the back door, not the front door.
(I was ultimately hired by a former manager.)

Anyway, I wanted to hear what everyone thought— is this really happening, or are content creators jumping on the AI is ruining everything bandwagon before it has even been fully adopted?
