In your opinion, is it better for Social Democrats to join leftist coalitions or centrist coalitions in governments?

It's a thought I've had for a while, but the upcoming Swedish election and the discussions I've seen on it reminded me of it. Because, on one side I see people wishing the Swedish SDP form a government with the Greens and Left, while on the other I see people wishing they form it with the Centrists instead.

If we were to exclude specific potential policies for each centrist/leftist party depending on the country, do you think it's better for social democrats to unite with fellow leftists or fellow centrists due to them being inbetween each roughly on the political spectrum and being able to easily side with either? I wish to see arguments for both.

Just a few tips for anyone attempting to beat Yuris' challenge as classless for the Regalia

See a lot of people in general complaining about the difficulty of the challenge as classless, so I'd just like to say this.

You DON'T have to do the entire challenge from the start without beating it with a class first. Doing it with Pointman (the only class that's good for the challenge for the Halliganbar alone) helps a lot with allowing you to prepare for some of the modifiers (notably inversion which is a pain in the ass and almost cost me my run and Unstable zones so you can figure out where to wait them out) and gives you a feel for where to go if you're gonna roam (if you're confident in your skill and wanna cut down on time since it's much quicker to get kills this way) or where to camp if you're gonna be patient (I personally camp the Sec2 corridor if it isn't Unstable since if you're lucky most enemies coming from the northern section of the hallway get stuck allowing you to easily shoot them from a distance, but if you do get unlucky there's nowhere to run so there's that)

But the main upside of completing the challenge with a class first is that you get to use the damn Nightstalker for the challenge. It is so much better compared to the default pistol it's not even funny. Just the fact it one shots lurkers and two shots risers already alleviates SO MUCH PRESSURE and reduces the risk of getting cornered significantly, but that's on top of its' quicker reload and aim stability.

Getting the Regalia skin this way is just a surefire way to get it with less of a headache. For people trying to "save time" and go classless from the start, they're just making it harder for themselves for no reason other than being impatient (but if you fail enough runs you'll end up wasting more time this way than if you'd have done them separately)

Besides this, the only other tips I can give is:

- try and get yourself into an i-frame if you hear a bomber coming, yes it's luck dependent for you to be able to do this, but it can still help out if you're able to, as it saved me in my winning run twice

- the only boss that's really a threat is Mikhail, but you can easily kill him by dumping an entire AK magazine into him then meleeing him, it's a guaranteed kill (only if you get most of your AK shots off tho), but if you don't wanna risk it you can also use your Surge Administral just in case to tank him. All the other bosses are only a threat if they catch you with an unreloaded AK, since their health is so low they pose 0 threat since you can just magdump them with 0 issue.

What other conflicts do you think should added into Wars of Suzerain?

Since we know the first conflict that's going to be in it is the Dome War from Rumburgs' perspective, and by the name I assume that other conflicts will be added too.

I'd LOVE for it to include the War of the Ridges, but besides that the only other conflict that I remeber happening around the time is Vendenossa, but I doubt civil wars will be a part of it.

How much of what you do in Sordland can affect you in the Rizia campaign?

Recently got the Rizia DLC and before I start I just wanna know can I use one of my old Sordland Idealist runs with Solo Gasom investment and Full OBT deal, does it in any way affect your Wehlen negotiations as Rizia for Intermerkopum or Zille negotiation, and does the Gasom deal give you any significant budget or can it be ignored?

And are there any other choices during the Sordland campaign that can affect your Rizia campaign on top of those?

I hate the fact that you can't find a character/person (fictional or not) cute without people immediately thinking you want to be in a relationship with them.

That one gun meme with the "aww so cute" as a muzzle is a prime example of this and every once in a while I see it and it makes me mad to no end (though I couldn't find it right now to show it) It's the purest example of projection. Just because YOU want to be in a relationship with them, does not mean everyone does, yet these types of people just assume for everyone since they can't see the word "cute" outside of an innappropriate context, and everyone MUST think like they do, and that anyone who JUST finds them cute is "lying to themselves", which boils my blood.

Do I think Kara and Sayori are cute? Absolutely. Do I wish to be in a relationship with them? No, I'm aroace.

I understand these might not be the greatest examples given their communities (especially with DDLC), but the majority ≠ everyone, and I'm tired of people instantly assuming without even bothering to ask for clarification.

Favourite videogames that in your opinion accurately portray Social Democracy/Democratic Socialism as either the main focus or an option?

After discovering these absolutely amazing videogames, I was wondering do the people of this subreddit know any games like them that are atleast similar. I genuinely wish to find more political sim games since I absolutely adore them, so I wish to see any reccomendations here.

And if you're asking, the games shown above in order are:

  1. Red Autumn: Social Democracy (RedAutumnSPD)

  2. Suzerain (Base Game)

  3. Red Autumn: Popular Front (RedAutumnSFIO)

What was the SPDs' actual proper alignment during the Weimar era if they had one?

Only recently discovered this game and showed how complex the Interwar era was for Germany and I love it. But its' got me asking what was the actual political situation of the SPD in the Weimar era, what is really an "a little bit of everything moderately leftist" party like the game shows or was it more united and the seeming fractured state just for it to have more branching paths to keep the game more interesting?

Like we all know the whole "leftist infighting" sthick that's often said, but we can't deny it actually happens. And if the SPD really was that fractured, I can hardly imagine how could they accomplish much at all, their whole party just seemed like a government coalition between actual parties instead of being just one bigger party (and that does explain why the party factions can so easily split and form their own if you fuck up ingame, but as far I could find that didn't happen IRL). It would also help explain and be another reason among why Weimar Germany actually fell if internal politics were that convoluted.

Ingame (atleast that I've noticed from what I've played), the disparity varies from supporting barely regulated capitalism to establishing a socialist republic, which seems like a pretty extreme gap internally for such a party to allow and still stay united.

So I'm asking did the IRL SPD have actual, at the very least vague, principles and policies they adhered to at all times or did they constantly switch between stuff with no clear mindset and or long term goals due to party infighting (as the game does allow you to switch up constantly, but I assume that's a guaranteed way to fail) ?

What is the "lingua franca" in the Suzerain universe?

As far as I understand, there was no single contient spanning superpower like the UK in our timeline nor a geopolitical great power like France in the Suzerain universe (as in OTL up to WW2 French was the language of diplomacy with English taking its' place post WW2 while beforehand English still held the identity of being a lingua franca alongside)

So is the language dillemma ingame simplified so it's easier to understand, or does the AN conference as an example have every member speak their own with a translator for each one?
