Is there a way to repair this horizontal tear in the seat of these moleskin trousers ?

I bought these German moleskin army surplus combats and the first time I squated down in them the seat split horizontally. I've sewed it shit once or twice but I really don't know what I'm doing so it always reopens.

is there anything I can do to repair them, or are they finished?

Is there a way to set up pattern chains in the TR-Editor?

Obviously you can set up pattern chaining on the TR8s, but is there a way to set those up in the TR-Editor plugin?

I've got a drum pattern I made in EZ drummer and id love to use it on the tr8s. Is there a way to import the midi or anything so I don't have to manually key in each beat?

Haven't lost so much as an ounce in 3 weeks, but I'm eating about 1200 calories a day.

I was recently diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, luckily caught it very early (basically just out of the pre-diabetic range into full diabetes) and so it's well managed and my main focus now is on losing weight.

I'm on meds which I can't name here due to sub rules, but you can infer which diabetic medication I'm referencing. It is cutting my appetite significantly, and I started eating low carb, not full keto, but cutting out all breads, sugars, junk food in general, beer etc. And I started doing a 16:8 intermittent fast.

Mostly my diet consists of chicken, lean beef, salmon, cream cheese, avocados, nuts, skimmed milk, full fat Greek yogurt, blue berries. All of these in very limited quantities. I'm not over indulging in any of them, and again, limiting my eating from 12-8pm.

I normally take a walk once a day, maybe a half hour or hour.

I initially lost 10 lbs. Going from 265 to 255 in about 2 weeks. But my weight hasn't budged in 3 weeks. I'm not eating the amount that would be needed to maintain 255lbs and i don't seem to be burning fat. So how on earth am I still walking around with normal energy?

Can someone help me understand the actual mechanism behind insulin resistance?

I'm new to this and trying to learn more about the science behind it. I've got a good handle on most of the fundamental principles, but the one thing I keep bumping up against, is insulin resistance.

The problem is, basically, I keep hearing "and these cells become insulin resistant " but when I try to understand why I just keep finding contributing factors, not the actual underlying mechanism by which the cell becomes insulin resistant.

Like I get that things like genetics, obesity etc can CAUSE it, but what is actually happening on a cellular level, and what is causing that specifically? Like if someone is obese, how exactly is that causing the mechanism to fail compared to if it's genetic for instance?

EDIT: I'm not looking for another metaphor explaining how insulin works. I want to know, on a cellular level, what is happening to the cell that's causing it to not respond to insulin.

Need advice on cgm and finding triggers

So I got diagnosed with an A1C of 48 (6.5) 2 weeks ago during an unrelated blood test and promptly freaked out and basically went very low carb and started doing 16:8 IF.

But I keep seeing people say how this is a very personalized disease and how not everyone reacts to carbs the same. So now I'd like to find out what carbs cause me to spike.

So my question is kind-of two fold.

Firstly, I need to lose weight. I'm currently 43 years old, 255lbs and 5'10"

At present I am planning on sticking to my low carb/IF/ Ozempic plan to get my weight down. With the eventually plan being to move to a less restrictive diet that I can realistically maintain long term once I reach my goal weight.

I'm not talking hitting my goal weight and suddenly binging on sugar and pizza or anything. More so I'd maybe move to a larger IF window and reintroduce some occasional carbs like potato and rice.

So my question is what is the best way to get a proper all round view on my blood sugar spikes and triggers. Should I get a cgm now and try eating those foods so I know how the affect me in my present state, or should I hold off till I reach my goal weight/A1C ?

Thanks for your patience, I'm new to this and kind of struggling to get my head around it.

If a single result of 6.5 is enough to say someone has diabetes, why do doctors want 2 or more tests several weeks, if not months, apart?

Surely if you have an A1C of 6.5 at your first test that's it. Game over.

I just got a result of 6.5 during a routine screening for something completely unrelated. and my doctor is saying he won't diagnose me officially till he gets his own tests done. One next Thursday and then a second one a month and a half later.

Surely if I'm 6.5 now, even if I'm able to go down to pre-diabetic levels it wouldn't matter, I'd still need to be classified as diabetic right?

I'd at best be in "remission" or something.

I only ask because a diagnosis of diabetes changes how much I'll pay for medications compared with just a diagnosis of pre-diabetic. And if I have it, I have it. there's no point dancing around the fact.

Possible cockup with my diagnosis.

So about 2 years ago i went through a rough patch and comfort ate, eventually putting on about 40 pounds in about a year and a half. I recently went to my doctor for a check up and he warned me I was entering into the pre-diabetic range, so prescribed me ozempic and I started dieting. Recently I'd been getting a bit of a cramp in my chest when I overexerted myself, so I mentioned it to my doctor. He referred me to a cardiologist and I went along to my appointment expecting a stress test.

Instead I got a consultation with a nurse and an ekg and a blood test. Then a few minutes with the cardiologist to discuss the chest pain thing, which she determined to be more likely caused by my ibs.

So anyway, I get a call 2 days later to say that my cholesterol is a bit on the high side and she'd like to prescribe me a medication to help take it down a bit. Then she says "and you'll need to better manage your diabetes moving forward."

I was shocked as you can imagine. My mmol was at 48, Or 6.5% which is apparently the entry point for diabetes. I told the cardiologist Id only been diagnosed with pre-diabetes so far, and she said "well you have type 2 diabetes now." Then she said she'd forward the results on to my doctor and he could take it from there.

So I emailed my doctor to book an appointment to discuss the diagnosis and to discuss further dietary changes, arrange getting blood sugar monitors, medications etc.

So my doctor calls me this morning, quite irate, saying I need to come in and redo all the tests under his supervision. Particularly he was annoyed that they'd taken my bloods when I hadn't fasted. In fact I'd had a large breakfast about an hour or two earlier because I was expecting to have to do a stress test on the treadmill.

Has anything like this happened to anyone else? Is it possible my bloods were just at that level from having eaten a large breakfast?

One way or the other I'm continuing on with the weightloss plan I'm on. One thing ive learned on this forum is that Pre-diabetes is better described as early stage diabetes, so it's not going to change how I treat the condition moving forward. But I'd obviously rather still be in that early phase rather than definitely in full blown type 2.

Thanks for reading.

Any advice appreciated.
