iPhone 16 overheating & dead touchscreen on iOS 27 Public Beta - Is it a known bug or a hardware defect?

I’ve been testing the iOS 27 Public Beta on my iPhone 16 (which is only about a month old), and the experience has been a nightmare lately.

After just 5-10 minutes of normal use, the phone often becomes very hot, especially around the battery area.

Sometimes the touchscreen completely freezes and doesn’t respond until I lock and unlock the phone (or wait for it to recover).

Has anyone else experienced these issues with the iPhone 16?
I’d really appreciate hearing about your experiences before I contact Apple Support.
Thanks!

iPhone 13 is getting hot/touchscreen issue

Hi everyone,

I have an iPhone 13 that I bought in November 2022. My battery health is currently at 81% and I’m running iOS 26.5. Storage: 90-95 GB used out of 128

For the last two - three months I have been having serious issues with the phone overheating - sometimes it gets extremely hot even during normal use, after 10 minutes. I’ve also started experiencing touch issues: the screen **occasionally (**three - four times a day) taps random places by itself or reacts weirdly (or doesn't react at all).

Has anyone had similar problems with their iPhone 13?
Did replacing the battery help, or is this more likely a hardware issue and it’s better to replace the phone ?
