I found out that Solene has an exclusive relationship with Kian... after she agreed to be my Para's girlfriend and move in with her.

Sooo yeah, here I am living my best lesbian programmer gremlin Paralife, when I meet this pretty girl and decide to try romancing her (by the way, I just got the game last night, but I absolutely love it and I'm so glad I got in on the EA).

Anyway, it was pretty easy to go from strangers to Lovers that live together, but imagine my surprise when I control Solene for the first time and click the Flirty mood cards. "Aww, how sweet, she is thinking of propos-- wait, who the hell is 'Kian'?"

Yep, my brand new serious girlfriend was busy thinking about proposing to her boyfriend just moments after agreeing to live with me.

I am not entirely sure if this is a bug or not because the game does support a spectrum of relationship styles, which I think is a great way to be inclusive. I personally am very monogamous though and so is my Para, so it'll be interesting to see how this plays out because my Para is set to get the highest possible jealousy setting.

Is there a way to see what other Paras are set to for the Relationship Style setting? Because either Solene is set to the one that seems to be hinting at polyamory, or the game doesn't check if a Para is in an exclusive relationship before letting you start a new one. And I mean, the word "exclusive" does seem to imply monogamy.

Maybe it's intentional. Cheating is a thing is real life, so who knows.

Good lord gum graft recovery is painful

Not to discourage anyone out there from getting it if you need it, because it still beats infections and tooth loss, but I really have to say that I have a pretty high pain tolerance and I've been STRUGGLIN' the last two days since surgery. I can't sleep without 800mg ibuprofen. Eating is a massive challenge, to the point that I've given up on anything that requires chewing whatsoever and am just drinking protein shakes and soup.

I had four teeth done in my lower right mouth, so it's a pretty big surgical site. They took two grafts from my pallet.

I know things will get better and the pain is temporary, but hoo boy, if I weren't already having a three day weekend from work right now I would be blowing the rest of my sick time to deal with this.

The surgeon's office was hilarious too, they told me to expect "some mild tenderness and possibly a bit of swelling". Folks, the right side of my face looks like I stuck it in a wasp's nest. My jawline looks like Lord Farquad. Like my face looks like a rectangle, it's wild. The swelling somehow managed to make it to the side of my face that did NOT get the surgery.

And to top it all off, not being able to brush or floss is just nasty. The surgeon's office gave me this kit with a mouth rinse, gel, and a spray, but the thing is it's all homeopathic "StellaLife" brand, so it might as well be water. I might as well rub magic crystals on my face, because there's no actual medicine in any of these products.

Anyone else start getting GERD symptoms after quitting acidic drinks?

Hi, so I'm a late 30s woman and after a recent trip to the dentist, I was told that I could either kick my sugar free energy drink / diet soda habit, or end up losing some teeth because my gums are receding from the constant acid exposure from both the drinks and the (apparently silent) reflux they have been causing. The teeth are healthy, but the acids from the drinks are basically melting the bone underneath my gums. I have to get a gum graft as well now.

I've been drinking at least two sugar free energy drinks and several diet sodas a day, every day, for probably 15 - 17 years. I cut them out entirely after I left the dentist office.

I take a caffeine pill in the morning and drink only water and green tea.

My digestion has improved a great deal and I feel healthier overall, but ever since I quit acidic drinks, I have had noticeable, painful heartburn at least once a day, but usually several times throughout the day.

I'm puzzled by this because you'd think removing the roughly gallon of acidic beverages I was guzzling every day would make the reflux better. I didn't even know I had reflux before the change - now not only do I still have it, apparently it's become the painful kind.

Anyone else have experience with this? Does it get better?

I'm reluctant to get on a PPI or take other medication because I know the long-term side effects are not good.

Thanks, any help would be appreciated! I'm going to ask my dentist about it at my follow up in a month.

Federal court BLOCKS Idaho law criminalizing transgender restroom use

https://www.advocate.com/politics/states/judge-blocks-idaho-bathroom-law

Woohoo!

Bear in mind, the state will certainly appeal, but it being blocked at this stage is a very good sign that the law is sufficiently unconstitutional that it's not going to stand.

Edit: an important note - transgender Idahoans are still legally barred from entering opposite sex-at-birth changing rooms and locker rooms. They also must use a single-user restroom instead of a multi-user restroom if one is available. The single-user restroom can be designated as gender neutral or it can be designated as for a specific gender.

Displaced urbanite seeks connection in the Lewis-Clark Valley

Hey all,

I moved here from a bigger city last fall. I work from home in the tech industry. I am struggling to find my people around here and thought I would give this a shot. Hopefully this is allowed.

Me: Female, mid 30s, stable career and life. No "drama" or BS to deal with. Politically very left. Enthusiastic about fitness, computers, music (I play guitar), nerd stuff (video games, TTRPG, card games, etc). I like getting outside, too.

Looking for local like-minded people with a stable schedule who want to link up to do things or play online.

**Love my guy friends, but not attracted to men**.
