Unconventional pho toppings

Homemade beef pho. I eat pho 4 times a week now as part of my weight loss diet. I sometimes replace the rice noodles with konjac noodles to lower the calories. You’ll see in the photo above that I use julienned carrots in mine, I don’t always have access to all the traditional veggies but I still like to get my daily dose of veg in. Carrot is honestly very tasty in it, highly recommend. I buy a large piece of eye of round steak from Costco, freeze and slice thinly, then portion for the week. I make meatballs with pork to add more cheap protein. Very tasty, I never get tired of it.

My abusive dad just got remarried

My abusive father just remarried. I have extremely limited contact with him, we are facebook friends and that is only so I can see what he’s doing. He was physically abusive to me and my siblings and emotionally and verbally abusive to my mother. He also cheated on her and was discharged from the military for what he did.
I found out that he got remarried a few days ago. None of my other family members told me. She has children, some of whom are young and still live with her. What I need advice on is if I should reach out to his new wife and tell her what he’s done. If she had no kids or they were adults I wouldn’t feel like I need to say anything to her, but because she does I’m not sure if I need to or not. My father is a textbook narcissist. Not in the way that everyone claims their family members are but they really aren’t, he displays all the traits of a true narcissist. He is controlling and plays mind games. He believes the world owes him everything and pretends like he is some amazing god, all while being incredibly insecure. I fear he hasn’t changed. The woman is likely past child bearing years so I’m relieved that there likely won’t be any children shared between them, which was how he tormented my mother. Sorry if this is rambling, I’ve been so anxious about all of this. I don’t want him to hurt anyone else like he hurt my siblings and I.
As a woman, I’d want someone to tell me. What do you all feel? Should I say something? Should I reach out to her and just introduce myself?

Candy making

Hey all, I’m getting into making candy. What candy flavoring brands do you all recommend? For both hard and gummy candy, and anything in between. Any tips or tricks for making it? I love trying new things, especially when they are difficult. What different tools does one need, if any, to be successful? What are your favorite recipes? Thank you!

Too many eggs!!!

I ordered groceries earlier this evening and was delivered 120 eggs!! I gave half to my mom but I already had 20 in my fridge, so I still have 80 left. I am looking to grow my skills with both baking and cooking, what are some recipes you all like? Easy to complicated, I have the equipment and time to cook and bake whatever! I love a challenge, and my boyfriend loves eggs and will eat whatever they are in. Thank you!

Barn cat with a funky eye

My boyfriend rents his grandparents barn as a kind of warehouse, there is a kitty that lives there, and one of his eyes is a bit odd looking. He’s 3ish, neutered male, about 12lbs, appears to be in good health. He uses a litter box, and is well behaved.
One of his eyes is normal, the other is darkly clouded over. From my boyfriend’s account, it’s been like that his entire life. It doesn’t seem to bother him but I am curious as to what it may be.
For those who may be concerned, I am absolutely in love with him and we are going to transition him into a house cat. Eventually he’ll be fully indoors, and hopefully he’ll have a long happy life after!

What kinds of products should I use on my hair?

My mom always cut my hair short as a kid, as an adult I’ve been growing it. I have no idea how to take care of it. I’ve never really seen any tutorials for my kind of hair before. It’s got waves and coils, some are really tiny and tight and others are large and loose, as well as all the waves. I use Aussie curly hair shampoo and conditioner. I use the hair oil from the same brand sometimes too. My strands are very fine, and my hair is usually kinda dry. What products should I use? I don’t have much interest in styling it too much, I’d like to wear it down more but it tangles super easily so I usually braid it or wear it in a tight bun. Any general advice is welcome, product related or hairstyle related. Thank you!!
