The Houston Chronicle has a column arguing that Mayor John Whitmire should be viewed as a hero by the political left because of his track record of delivering for labor unions. Here is a key quote:

How in the hell is blocking annexation of the area with possibly the highest tax base in the Houston area a win-win for everybody?

Harris County Precinct 3, which includes both northeast and northwest parts of the county, would see the largest increase in homes added to the floodplains out of any county precinct. The precinct would see a 103% increase in single-family homes in the floodplains and a 113% increase in multifamily homes in flood risk zones.

I think we are going to see a mass exodus from Houston when all those people have to start paying flood insurance.

Why hasn’t Greenspoint mall been repurposed?

I’ve driven around the area many times and it has lots of potential with excellent access to highway, airport, etc, etc.

I don’t understand why Greenspoint mall is rotting away instead of being repurposed
