Trying to fix studio monitors

Trying to fix studio monitors

I have a pair of Yamaha HS3 monitors and they lose power after being in for a few minutes. Before tossing them, I figured I might try fixing them. Would anybody happen to know what type fuse or capacitor I might want to look for and what it looks like?

Can't figure out the source of hum

Sort of a newbie here. I'm recording some guitar tracks and can't figure out the source of this hum I'm getting. Maybe a better term might be buzz, but I'm not sure. I only hear it when using high gain amp sims. I'm not sure if it's ground loop hum or anything; everything is plugged into one power strip. As I sit at my desk and turn to the left, the sound changes a bit. Also, if I scroll up or down in my DAW, the sound changes a bit too.

I know a noise would help, but I'd much rather try to get rid of it first. Here's an example of it:

Can't figure out my AC in apartment

I just moved into a new apartment. When the AC is turned on at the thermostat, the only air coming out anywhere is this panel near the front door. Air is barely coming out and it's very loud. There are a couple vents in the ceiling that aren't blowing air.

Is something wrong here? Any ideas appreciated.

Do my monitors suck or is it my room?

I set up a makeshift studio in my new apartment. Not the ideal setup. Just a desk with my computer and interface. There's no acoustic treatment and my desk is up against a window.

I've been tracking and mixing with headphones (Steven Slate VSX). I thought I should get some monitors though, and picked up some KRK Kreate 3's. They sound sort of muddy in the low end and seem to be lacking in mid frequencies. Could that be because of the acoustics of the room, or is it more likely this is just what these monitors sound like?

Any thoughts appreciated.

Studio Monitors stopped working

I have a pair of Yamaha HS3 studio monitors. One day after a year or so of working, they didn't turn on. No, light no sound. Checked the rear switch was on as well, still no power. I let them sit a few weeks, then tried to turn them on just to see what happened. They did, and worked for a few days but now they're dead again. There's no fuse compartment in the back, and I opened it up and couldn't find a fuse anywhere.

Do some monitors not have fuses, or do I just not know what I'm looking for? Are they just dead or could there be something else I'm overlooking?

Thanks.
