Ceiling lighting advice for unfinished exposed joist ceiling

Hi friends. I am insulating my garage to be able to use it as a workshop/rec room in the winter. (See photos). I plan to leave the ceiling unfinished. I’d like something a bit better looking than the fluorescent tubes you see here, but it’ll be tricky to put in lighting without it getting hidden by the beams. I don’t mind a bit of an industrial look… anyone got good ideas for something to keep it bright that doesn’t hang down very far?

Edit - the beams are 2ft apart and 9.5” deep

Kids on BART

Hey crew, coming back to SF for a 4 day visit after a long absence with my kids. I know 4 year olds ride free on BART but I have two older kids who, I understand, get some kind of discount. I’d rather not buy a bunch of clipper cards that I won’t need. Do they still sell the paper ones? Or is there some other way to roll these days?

What’s the best purchase for a guerrilla speed bump?

I think I’m gonna do it. The neighbors and I want to do a midnight speed bump installation on our block.

This is Philly so it’ll either disappear the next day or last for decades. Regardless I don’t want to spend a lot. I see speed bumps you can buy for less than $100 but they seem to be meant for driveways etc. I don’t want to do anything reckless so… anyone with experience know which of the Home Depot type would actually be functional on a street without falling apart in a week?

Bringing wine back to the US

So… I love to bring wine back to the US from travels. I know the limit is 1L without declaring anything. I also understand they don’t care if you have 2 750ml bottles (ie two standard bottles).

That said, for years I’ve routinely fudged this by bringing 4 or 5 bottles back without saying anything.

But if I wanted to do this legally, how would I actually do it? Do I just tell the guy at passport control? Do I need some form? What would it end up costing per bottle? I’d be perfectly happy to pay my duty but it seems like eg PITA factor is really high.

Hold your anger. I don’t usually believe in “best of” lists especially when it comes to the sacred and iconic but mother of god, I popped into Dancerobot tonight and they have changed the cheesesteak game. A scrumptous mix of the traditional and the vaguely Japanese. It’s a revolution man.
