Small collection

There’s so many fragrances to explore out there but maybe I found a happy medium for the rest of 2026. I live in SoCal so the weather here is usually hot for most of the year. Fortunately I did not pay retail for them except the LV.

Ranked order:

  1. Aventus Absolu
  2. LV Imagination
  3. Amouage Reflection Man
  4. D&G Light Blue Intense
  5. Amouage Reflection 45
  6. ADG Elixir

On the back for something artistic/interesting I have Amouage Outlands.

On the front, an oil based fragrance I made myself during a perfumery class, Morning Sunrise. The instructor said it felt clean and luxurious. He ranked in #3 in a rather small class lol.

Top: Citrus Blossom, Bergamot, Grapefruit
Middle: Poppy, Drakkar Noir, Aqua
Base: Cashmere, Amber, Musk

I believe everything works for any needed occasion. I could probably still downsize a bit more. I have Sauvage Elixir and JPG Le Male Le Parfum battling for taking Outland’s spot but I’ll have to wait for the cooler weather to come around again.

What became of ADG Elixir?

I just got it this week and it smells really good. It doesn’t have the bright feeling of say Profondo, but the fresh ADG DNA is definitely there. I got about 4 hrs of performance yesterday. My gf said she couldn’t smell it much but surprisingly as the wearer I could. Profondo is the opposite, I go nose blind easier while others can still smell it on me. The dry down turned rather powdery but very nicely done. I honestly don’t pick up the violet leaf or leather. It reminds me more of the Parfum but with the patchouli toned down which I prefer.

The biggest concern I have is the price point. I got the 50ml bottle from eDiscount Perfumes for $82 after taxes, so $1.64/ml. I remember paying $85 for a 100ml bottle of Profondo straight from a Macys sale last year, which is $0.85/ml in comparison. So at a discount, it still is two times the price. But I remember reapplying Profondo pretty often throughout the day.

Does anyone know if maceration helps increase the performance on this one? If so, then I think it would be worth it. I just don’t see many posts or collections ever talking about it.

Found another noise culprit. Wheel bearing recommendations?

My front driver’s side wheel bearing is going out at 75k miles.

Are there any recommendations for a replacement and can I get away with replacing one or should I do both front ones or all four? Only one is giving me noise issues

[WTT] Amouage Beach Hut for Reflection 45 100ml (bottle)

Full presentation. I couldn’t get into it just yet. It’s a really nice green scent for those actually committed to “green.” It’s just a bit too mature for me at the moment. I’m also very into Reflection right now.

Would be shipping from SoCal

Update to the project update..

Five weeks later after getting dropped off at the body shop and here we are.

Nismo body kit and frame alignment is complete. Fismo or not, I couldn’t be any happier. Bought it a year ago stock (19’ Sport Touring) although with a rebuilt title. I inherited all the due maintenance plus a few issues which added up quite a bit. The only issue I have found now that I have the car is the spoiler causes a bit of a rattle inside the cabin. I’m not sure if it’s normal or if it needed more double sided tape so I’ll have to go back. To say the least, she will be running well and looking pretty for years to come.

I was able to get photos during the process. The work that goes behind the scenes at body shops is kind of insane. I was most impressed they were able to salvage a very neglected and chopped up pair of side-skirts I found on marketplace. It was missing tabs, had tears, and what not. The owner was like, don’t worry I can fix them. They basically used my old ones to make their own Frankenstein. I may change them out for a clean pair in the future. It’s just hard finding them at a good price.

I’m still waiting on a decal shop to help me with some full size quarter window decals and also wrap my new Nissan emblems.

What are your thoughts on alternatives to the Nismo emblems? I still want to fill in those spaces with something else on the front and rear.

What’s up with these codes?

I just got the car back from the body shop. They had the car for about 5 weeks and the car sat there for most of it without running. I went to AutoZone and got the codes read. They said my battery was good, just low.

I let my battery charge overnight using a Noco Genius 5 and as of this morning the light hasn’t gone away.

Any thoughts on what to check for? Terminals look good. I did not have any codes prior to dropping off the car.

[WTT] Amouage Sequence for Outlands 100ml (bottle)

Full presentation of Sequence. It’s an incensy and fruity oud leather scent. See photo for level. Not sure where the line starts with these bottles to be considered full.

Testing to see if there’s anyone out there interested in trading their Outlands.

Amouage Sequence

Finally found a reasonably priced bottle to add some “darkness” to my collection. After trying LV Ombre Nomade, it got me interested in rose and oud. I sold LV and went down the rabbit hole to explore more middle eastern stuff.

I sampled Amouage Outlands at the store because of the hype, and it was too vanilla-heavy with little rose or oud. So the lady shows me Sequence after telling her I was interested in rose and oud. It immediately reminds me of the incense vibe I pick up in some middle eastern restaurants I sometimes visit for work. The opening has a slight fruitiness, followed by incense.

The notes include lychee, which I love in teas, but my nose still can’t distinguish it as a specific scent here. The sweetness has no vanilla whatsoever which I prefer. There’s a hint of leather and possibly oud. I usually prefer leather in jackets and wallets but find it too synthetic in perfumes. This one is decent because it’s not a loud leather. I still don’t know what actual oud is supposed to smell like but this is not animalic like Ombre Nomade and already feels closer to what I expected to be “middle eastern” and still enjoyable.

I would place this as a fall or cool night/day type of scent. I’m sure it would cut through the heat easily, but the incense might become too cloying. I may still test it out.

I really enjoy the scent. Now I just have to wait and see what my girlfriend thinks later 🙂

2012 Toyota Camry making a whining noise when shifting from drive to park and back to neutral.

It makes the noise the moment it hits “parked” or when I shift to neutral. Then goes away after a few seconds. What could it be?

Thoughts on Jabba The Hut? 🛖

Sorry, I meant Beach Hut Man*** 🛖🧍‍♂️

Just got this in the mail yesterday. Very green and earthy. It’s almost like a green herbal tea garden terrarium was placed inside a bottle. Very unique to say the least and quite strong!

Mint is supposed to be a prominent note and I think I do get some of it. I hate mint (yes I still brush my teeth and use mint chewing gum). But it’s not a toothpaste kind of mint.

The closest thing this reminds of is LV Lovers given that both share Galbanum. I don’t know what Galbanum smells like but I know both have it and can detect it.

I believe this and Reflection Man and are freshest offerings from Amouage with that middle eastern touch. Both are fresh, but the Hut is somehow less fresh yet more complex because it has a lot more going on.

I’ll continue to experiment with them. One might have to go 🥀

Project update

Ahh, it’s been three weeks now and she’s still getting work done at the body shop. Unfortunately there were some delays, especially with color matching all three Nismo paint colors.

My favorite mod is finally on, the V1 wing. The sport touring wing was broken off during removal because of how strong it was adhered to the car. Side skirts were restored and are on.

Front bumper is ready, but turns out my front end frame is misaligned (salvaged title from front end collision). So now it’s going up on the frame machine to give it a chiropractor adjustment. 🦴

Find of the day! V1 Nismo wing. Bolts?

Scored an OEM v1 spoiler for $250. It will hit the body shop for paint. Junk yard said the car had been confiscated and a body shop kept most of the parts from the front end. They left the rest of the car for them.

Can someone guide me and tell me what bolts/hardware are needed to mount it onto my sport touring?

My Z is still at the body shop. The front bumper is expected to be painted today but we just realized the Nismo trim accents have grey in it as well.

The obvious one is the G41 black.

  1. Does anyone know the color codes for the grey accent?

  2. Can someone with an OEM nismo front bumper show me how much of the grey accent runs through the front bumper?

  3. My last question is what color code is the red accent itself? As it will have to be repainted on my sideskirts.

I would highly appreciate the help!!

Added French Defense to the collection and it just smells so good. The performance has been incredible for me with only two sprays that last me all day. I love that the cherry does not smell medicinal and has the perfect amount of amber in it to work during cold weather and date nights. I’m not the biggest fan of sweet or candy-like scents. This is a balanced and sophisticated sweet. I’ve been layering it with Imagination as my daily scent to keep feeling fresh.
