Android System using a lot of battery on Xiaomi 17 Ultra

Hey everyone,

I’m using a Xiaomi 17 Ultra and I noticed that Android System is taking a surprisingly high amount of battery in the battery stats.

Device info:

  • Model: Xiaomi 17 Ultra
  • RAM: 16 GB
  • OS: HyperOS / Android
  • Region/ROM: China ROM
  • Usage: mostly TikTok, social media, camera, normal daily use
  • Battery mode: Balanced
  • Root/bootloader: rooted / unlocked bootloader

The weird thing is that sometimes Android System shows up very high, even when I’m mostly just using normal apps. The phone can also get warm sometimes, and I’m not sure if this is just HyperOS background optimization, Google services, root-related stuff, or some system wakelock.

Has anyone else with a Xiaomi / HyperOS device had Android System using a lot of battery?

What should I check?

Any tips would be appreciated.

Xiaomi 17 Ultra camera samples in mixed lighting

Took these with the Xiaomi 17 Ultra in two different lighting situations.

The first photo was taken outside in a dark forest with some warm light hitting the trees.
23mm, f/1.67, 1/6s, ISO 100

The second photo was taken indoors under warm room light.
23mm, f/1.67, 1/25s, ISO 50

I love how the phone handled the colors, contrast and mood, especially in lower light. Curious what you think.

People who worked at Apple repair centers or authorized service providers, what is the job like?

Hi everyone,

I have always been interested in electronics repair and device logistics, especially how large scale repair centers work.

Has anyone here worked at an Apple repair center, an authorized service provider, or a depot repair center?

I am mostly curious about the general work experience.

For example:

  • Is the work mostly diagnostics, module replacement, testing, logistics, or customer service?
  • How structured is the repair process?
  • Is it stressful or more routine?
  • What is the training like?
  • What surprised you about the job?
  • Do repairs generally feel carefully handled from your experience?

Would love to hear general experiences from people who have worked in that area.

Thanks!

Anyone working at apple repair centers

Curious to hear from anyone working at Apple's Repair Centre (Pegatron) What's the job like? How thorough is the whole process?

Sent my iPhone to Apple repair, now it’s stuck in some UPS warehouse in Czechia

I sent my iPhone 17 Pro Max to Apple for repair with the UPS label Apple gave me.

Dropped it off normally, UPS scanned it, everything looked fine.

Now the tracking says:

“In Warehouse – The package is in a secure facility pending clearance or resolution.”

And it’s stuck in the Czech Republic.

Called UPS twice, they basically said it’s being held there and could take a while.
Called Apple and they just keep telling me everything is fine.

But like… it’s not fine? My phone hasn’t even reached the repair center. It’s my own device.

I already emailed UPS And Apple Germany because I actually need the phone back.

Has anyone had this UPS “secure facility pending clearance or resolution” thing happen with an Apple repair return?
