If India Wants a Stronger Rupee and More Jobs, We Need Real Experts in Charge

I feel India does not need more political drama. We need economists, policy experts, scientists, educators and people who actually understand how to build a strong nation.

We need better jobs, fair minimum wages, lower poverty, stronger industries, better education and less corruption.

The Indian rupee will not become stronger through speeches alone. A strong economy comes from employment, productivity, education and proper long-term planning.

Has Anyone Had Success Finding Weekend Work Recently?

Has anyone had success finding genuine weekend work recently?

I’m currently working as a Level 2 IT Service Desk professional in a law firm and have previous experience teaching PTE and IELTS. I have also taught Maths, and English to students from Grade 6–11.

I’ve been applying through LinkedIn, Seek, and Indeed for a while now but haven’t had much luck with weekend or casual opportunities. I have been have a real rough time financially. : (

For people who managed to find weekend work recently:

Where did you find the best opportunities?

Are there better platforms, agencies, or local groups I should be looking into?

I’d really appreciate any advice or suggestions. Thank you.

Why in India you can afford a maid while someone earning AUD100K still washes dishes by themselves

W. Arthur Lewis (Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences) argued that many developing economies have an “unlimited supply of labour,” meaning there are huge numbers of workers stuck in low productivity jobs, especially in agriculture and informal sectors.

In India, even many middle class households can afford domestic help. In Australia, someone earning AUD100K may still cook, clean, wash dishes, mow lawns, and do most household work themselves.

Why?

Because labour itself is priced very differently.

In India:

• Huge labour supply

• Lower wages

• Large informal economy

• High competition for work

• Domestic labour remains relatively affordable

In Australia:

• Limited labour supply

• High wages and labour protections

• Higher living costs

• Service labour becomes expensive

So: -

When labour is extremely cheap, businesses and households often rely more on human labour instead of investing in expensive machinery, automation, or productivity improvements.

Why buy a machine when labour costs less?

Lewis’s theory suggests this can slow the transition toward higher productivity industries. Too many people remain trapped in low wage work because the economy is not absorbing workers fast enough into modern productive sectors.

That means affordable domestic labour can be viewed in two very different ways.

  1. One view is that it creates affordability and employment opportunities.

  2. The other view is that it may reflect an economy where millions of workers are still stuck in low paying jobs because industrial and productivity growth has not expanded fast enough.

Australia already reached the stage where labour became expensive, so automation and productivity matter much more. India is still transitioning through that phase.

And maybe that’s the uncomfortable question:

What do you think being able to afford a maid easily in India is due to? And if it's good?

Or do you think that it shows a harsh reality that some people are stuck in this economy, where they're working hard to earn ₹10000 a month.

Can Indian politics care for its citizens for once??

Can this political partied strictly work on the following if they come to power for once?

  1. Clean air, water, and food without adulteration else strict fines for anyone found messing with any of these three.

  2. Education --> we need public school and college teachers to get back to working properly. Strict monitoring of schools and colleges. If you are paid, WORK for what you are paid for!!

  3. A BIG NO TO BRIBERY --> anyone found taking or giving bribes must be strictly punished with heavy fines.

  4. No political leader should ever talk about religion on stage unless there is a serious situation that genuinely needs government handling.

  5. Stop spending crores on political rallies; instead, put that money into benefiting the public while in power.

  6. What you promise, you accomplish within the timeframe you mentioned or at least get the project started early instead of waiting for the last year of your term.

  7. We seriously need to reform pension systems. Some people get no pension at all, while others receive more than they could ever need in a lifetime.

  8. Fines and penalties for crimes should be based on a percentage of income. If someone earning 10k pays a 2k fine, while someone earning 100k pays the same 2k for the same crime, it is not fair at all. For the richer person, it becomes nothing more than a small inconvenience.

Secondly, this idea is from another commentator on a different Reddit post ( which got down from the page for some reason):

- Please link Aadhaar, driver’s licence, birth certificate, and PAN card together. Any violation (for example, a traffic offence) can then be traced back to the Aadhaar system, making it easier to track repeat offenders and serious criminals.

- Introduce laws that prevent police from unnecessarily stopping people without probable cause. Evidence gathered unlawfully should generally be inadmissible unless it involves serious crimes like murder, assault, or human trafficking.

- Increase funding for courts. We need more judges, more courts, and faster processing of cases. The current delays lasting decades only help criminals, especially powerful ones.

- Increase funding for schools, police, and bureaucracy. Better-paid government employees are less likely to engage in corruption or abuse authority.

- Government employees should not accept “gifts,” and their finances should be regularly audited. Any major unexplained discrepancies should lead to strict punishment and long bans from politics or public office.

- Minor politicians should not be allowed to randomly transfer bureaucrats or police officers for political reasons. It disrupts families and pressures honest officers into corruption.

- We need a stronger and clearer separation of powers between the executive, judiciary, and legislature. Politicians should not be able to overstep boundaries and manipulate institutions for personal benefit.

- Government revenue and expenditure reports should be fully transparent, simple to understand, and digitally accessible to the public.

These are the root causes behind many of our issues. Once misuse of authority is controlled, corruption and crime will reduce significantly, and the nation can genuinely develop.

MAINLY THE ISSUE LIES IN CORRUPTION - I have no idea how to tackle it. Can someone suggest ideas??

  6. What you promise you accomplish within the time frame you mentioned you will or at least get the project going and not wait to start on your projects on the last year of your term.

  7. We'll we need to reframe pension systems. Some are not getting any pension at all while others are getting more than they ever need in their lifetime.

  8. Fines, or penalties for any other crimes should be percentage of their income. If someone is earning 10k and has to pay 2k as a fine while for the same crime a person earning 100k has to pay 2k as well. Its not fair at all. And also does not hurt the richer at all he will break the same law five times a year and happily pay 10k and move on.

  9. Remind me what I'm missing and what's more important for Indians at this stage. And oh! we truly need good economists at this point in Indian History.

DYK: A teaspoon of pulsar star's neutron material can weigh as much as a mountain here on earth?

Do you know neutron stars are formed when a giant star explodes in a Supernova, but then collapses back in on itself.

If The Star is big enough, a black hole can form but sometimes the core doesn't totally collapse. And instead it creates an incredibly dense object known as a neutron star.

Neutron stars with their powerful magnetic fields can rotate very quickly, accelerating charged particles by the magnetic field and releasing radiation from the poles. This sends 2 photon beans across the sky, detected as pulses on earth.

One such star, PSR B1257+12 which is also known as Lich, this object has a radius of just 10 km, but a mass is equivalent to almost one and half times of the Sun and a scorching surface temperature of 28582°C, but this is not the end of strangeness. This highly magnetized neutron star can spin at an incredible rate of 9659 rotations a minute.

India Needs Less Religious Politics and More Real Progress

India is not truly secular if politicians constantly use religion to gain votes.

They know the majority population influences elections. Create fear. Create division. Create emotional narratives. Gain votes.

And honestly, I believe many politicians themselves are probably the biggest non-believers - because if they truly believed in morality, honesty, and humanity, they wouldn’t manipulate ordinary people using religion.

This is not against any one religion. This is about all religions being used politically.

Politics should focus on INDIA, not religious emotions.

Some things India seriously needs:

  1. Educated politicians

  2. Politicians should stop bringing religion into everything

  3. Faith and politics should stay separate

  4. Educate people without emotionally manipulating them through religion

  5. Stop rewriting or interfering with history books

  6. Talk more about science, innovation, environment, and development

  7. Stop throwing trash into rivers

  8. Stop immersing idols and polluting water bodies

  9. Think about air quality, water quality, and the future generations

  10. Say no to corruption

  11. Be honest and loyal to the nation first

  12. Stop scam call centres targeting people overseas - India is becoming globally known for this and it damages our reputation

  13. Look at rising temperatures and climate issues - plant more trees and protect the environment

A strong country is not built by religious hate.

It is built by education, science, honesty, clean governance, and unity.

Google search engine

I feel like Google and Reddit are stuck in a loop now.

You search something on Google, and half the AI answers are pulled from Reddit threads.

Then people read those answers, go to Reddit to ask more questions, and Google scrapes those Reddit posts again for future AI results.

At this point it feels like: People → Reddit → Google AI → Reddit → Google AI again.

Honestly, it’s making me trust Google less.

The “AI overview” just feels like recycled internet opinions instead of actual reliable sources.

Where did water on earth converge from?

I just saw a Brian Cox post where he said Earth was not born with water. He explained that water may have come from ice/comets hitting Earth over millions of years, and some also came from volcanic eruptions because hydrogen and oxygen were trapped inside Earth.

My question is: how do scientists even figure this stuff out? How can we know what happened billions of years ago if nobody was there to observe it?

Also, if Earth was being hit by ice asteroids/comets for such a long time, why doesn’t that happen now? Did those objects disappear, or are we still getting hit but on a smaller scale?

What kind of evidence do scientists use to come to these conclusions?

Hi everyone,

I’m currently working as an ICT Support Technician and my employer has agreed to sponsor me for a 482 visa.

I wanted to hear from others who have applied under a similar role:

Has anyone here been sponsored as an ICT Support Technician (or similar support role)?

How strict were they about matching your job duties

to the ANZSCO description?

Did anyone face issues because the role is considered lower skill compared to analyst positions?

I’m already working with this employer in Australia, so just trying to understand how closely my role needs to align and what to watch out for.

Would really appreciate any insights or experiences. Thanks!
