There was a pile of free stuff in the breezeway of my apartment building and there was this knock off Le Creuset saucepan
I found a 1.75 qt enameled cast iron saucepan. Worth keeping? It’s heavy as hell but it’s really cute lol

I found a broken Pro 600 on Facebook marketplace for 40 bucks and figured it was cheap enough to buy, get parts, and fix it up. Spent $20 on a new gear, a gasket, fresh grease, and $5 on snap ring pliers. The speed lever is a little loose? Not sure what to do about that, but all the speeds work. It is very loud though, louder than my current Pro 600. Not sure if that’s cause for worry? Otherwise, everything that was wrong with it to begin with is now fixed! Thanks to Mr. Mixer for his YouTube videos on how to get inside these things
I found a Pro 600 today for 40 bucks! Figured it was cheap enough even if it didn’t work to bring it home and see what was going on with it. Opened it up and found only the worm follower is ground down a bit. Other than that, the internals all seem pretty good. The paint has a ding here and there but once I cleaned it up, it’s really not that bad. The matte finish is kinda growing on me lol
The beauty band is slightly bent in a couple places, does anyone know how to smooth that out?
My roommate does not cook, has no interest in cooking, and generally isn’t good at it when she does (which is fine I love to cook), and her cookware reflects that, it’s mostly flimsy, thin-metal Walmart brand pots and pans. But she has two Martha Stewart stainless steel skillets. They look old and discoloured but I’m wondering if they’re actually decent quality and worth restoring and using, or are they just cheap pans with a brand name on them?
I look through this sub quite frequently and it seems like the K5SS was one of the best bowl lift models made. Also at the top are the models with the DC motors. It got me wondering where the Pro 600s rank compared to these models, the Pro 6000, the 500, and the current generation of bowl lifts
I find myself wanting a grill pan. I’ve never had one and I think it would be a good addition to my cookware collection, although I’m not entirely sure what to look for. I’m leaning towards cast iron for many reasons, not the least of which is simply because I already have a bunch of cast iron pans and I like keeping a cohesive look lol
My main cookware set is anodized aluminum and I have found some grill pans that could fit in with my set but they’re significantly more expensive than cast iron.
I’m not really interested in ceramic or basic nonstick pans, though they are a bit cheaper. The Lodge 10.5 in square grill pan is only 25 bucks on Amazon ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I attempted to make this Brazilian lemonade that I’ve been seeing all over everywhere. I did everything exactly like the recipes call for and it was crazy bitter. Added a simple syrup to see if it would help and it didn’t really change anything. So then I thought, well what if I turn it into a custard? So I tempered some eggs and sugar and cooked it over the stove for ten minutes and it didn’t thicken up any more than it was. So now I have this semi thick, kind of sweet, kind of bitter creamy liquid and I don’t know what to do with it lol is it garbage? Have my efforts been wasted?
Bought a huge pack of gemelli from Costco and I’m in the middle of planning my meals next week. I have in the pantry pesto, a fennel and cream tomato sauce, and a basic tomato basil sauce but I’m wanting something else, something fun lol
I’m rewatching House of the Dragon to get ready for the new season, and in the first episode of season two, when the Red Keep’s guards see a dragon approaching, they ready the Scorpion in anticipation to fight it off. But in Game of Thrones, Qyburn takes some time and effort to develop a Scorpion of his own. Why would he have no knowledge of this weapon existing already? It was only 175 years prior and was a major installation on the walls of the Red Keep. Would later generations of the Targaryens really destroy them and all schematics/blueprints/engineering designs? Why did Qyburn act like he invented something no one had ever seen before?
(I know later seasons of GoT were ass and not everything in HotD is book accurate but I’m thinking more of an in-universe lore-based reason lol)
I’ve recently gotten into watching Project Runway and have been bingeing it from season one off and on for the past few months. Currently watching the finale of season 10 and I’ve been looking forward to the iconic “blood orange? She’s so pretentious, it’s fucking red,” confessional scene all season only to see the entire thing was cut out. Melissa doesn’t even show the red fabric to Tim at all or explain what she’s doing. Why did they do this??
I’m not an expert bread maker by any means, and I’ve only made sandwich bread two other times but the two loaves that came out today take the cake. I changed loaf shaping techniques and it came out much closer to store bought bread than loaves I’ve made in the past. It’s firmer, denser, chewier, and in general holds up much better than the others.
It’s a simple honey white bread and tastes amazing, and now I’d like to make other types. Big fan of wheat breads, potato breads, multigrain. If anyone has any good resources/websites/youtube channels for recipes, I’d be very appreciative :) Thanks guys!
(First photo is the new loaf, second photo is a slice from a loaf a couple weeks ago)
Edit: this is the recipe I used in case anyone was interested: https://wildthistlekitchen.com/honey-white-bread/
I have so many player homes and I use quite a few of them for different reasons but I also really love displaying the unique items (paragons, the daedric weapons, thieves guild trophies, ya know, all the things) is there a mod that can duplicate those items so I can display them in multiple homes??
I’m somewhere around level 70 and have amassed somewhere around 2 million gold. I’ve bought every house, I always pay for passage to and from Solstheim, I buy countless amounts of supplies, anything to spend money. Currently my goal is to forge a set of every type of armor, so that takes up quite a bit of money in materials. And not that I’m complaining about the money lol but I’m curious if other players simply keep it and don’t think about it or have come up with creative ways to spend it all.
