Tinsley

An old article that I had found about Tinsley and Dale that I find a little interesting. I’m curious, as I was only a kid during Tinsleys reign in the 2000s, how was her marrying a Mortimer viewed? Was she viewed as a social climber who married up? According to the article Dale kind of brags about how the Mercers have more money than them, how they were in the social register, descendants of Thomas Jefferson and what not. How was her family viewed in general?

Question about a scene in season 2

I'm doing my god knows what hundredth rewatch of the show and i'm currently at the scene where Nate and Blair were at Trip and Maureen's rehearsal dinner.

Maureen tells her that the Whitney Junior Committee felt she was "too new" on the scene and told her it would take a while to "start to matter". But, isn't she a Waldorf? As in the Waldorf-Astor family? I figured her and her family (on both sides) were very much in High Society for at least a couple generations at that point.

Or was it because she was only like 18 lol?

What tea do we have on Ms Rust?

I think out of all the socialites, at least of her era like Aerin Lauder, Lauren DuPont, the Miller sisters, etc, I find her the most fascinating.

How does Sonja make her money these days?

Pretty much the title. What does she do? I know she moved out of the townhouse and now lives in Florida. So I assume she made some money from the sale of the townhouse. But like, does she work? Have a job? Very curious. 🤨

Phoebe Gates

My apologies if were not allowed to discuss things like this one this sub, but what are everyone’s thoughts on the current controversy around Phoebe Gates and her roommate Sophia Kianni’s startup app Phia? Allegedly, the app took credit for sales it didn’t drive. You think the startup will recover? I’m sure Phoebe will be just fine (financially of course and probably even career wise), not so sure about her roommate though 😬

Julia Amory

What do we think of her? Any tea? Or new tea I should say. I know she’s been posted on here before but all the post seem to have been deleted! I know she grew up in NYC and lives in Palm Beach now, not much beyond that!

Eugenia McQuarrie

Anyone have any tea on Eugenia McQuarrie or her fam? She graduated from Barnard, lives in NYC with her parents, and went to a fancy boarding school in London (she also grew up there I believe she refers to it as her second home) i'm not sure the name of the school though. She has her own little business. She makes some cute handbags lol. Her father is Christopher McQuarrie a well known director who directed four of the "Mission Impossible" movies. Her mother from what I could find comes from a prominent family in Atlanta, Georgia. I think she also went to Yale, her father attended as well (Eugenias Grandpa). Her little sister goes to Yale too and attended Foxcroft before that. She's also an equestrian (I think?) If you have tiktok, you may have seen some of her videos that really blew up with her mother's friend Cathy Graham (who was actually married to the grandson of Eugene Meyer who once owned the Washington Post) trying on a bunch of her vintage clothes. So, anyone know of them?

Marie-Chantal Miller, 1986

Some throwback photos of Marie-Chantal that I saw on instagram. The account is: poparttrio. Thought some on this sub would enjoy. 😉

Caption on original post:

Keith Haring with Marie-Chantal Miller, Stephen Sprouse, María Clara Pesantes Becerra, and Sam Bolton during a party at Mr Chow in New York City, 1986.

Andy Warhol took these photos at the graduation party of Marie-Chantal Miller, daughter of Robert Warren Miller, co-founder of DFS Group, and his wife María Clara Pesantes Becerra. During her senior year of high school, she worked at the Factory. Andy also attended her graduation at The Masters School in Dobbs Ferry as seen in slides 9-15. She later married Pavlos, Crown Prince of Greece and became known as Marie-Chantal, Crown Princess of Greece. In 2008, she reflected on her experience at the Factory in an interview with Bob Colacello for Vanity Fair:

"I was sent off to boarding school in Switzerland at nine-to Le Rosey, in Gstaad. I was there for five years, and then my parents bought some property in Paris, and they felt it would be good for us to also be exposed to a French education, just to become a little more fluent in French.

We were there until Pia graduated and went to Barnard. I went off to join her in America and did my last year of boarding school at the Masters School, in Dobbs Ferry, New York. That's when I met Andy Warhol. One of my parents' art dealers, Jeffrey Deitch, introduced me. I was 16 at the time. My school had a thing called senior independent study, where I could go off and work somewhere for six weeks and get credit. So I went to work at the Factory. I did a bit of everything-serve lunch, be a courier, answer phones. And Andy at the time was friendly with Stuart Pivar, who had started the New York Academy of Art. He gave me and Jean-Michel Basquiat scholarships. But Basquiat never showed up. I spent one year there. Then I decided to take some time off to figure out what I wanted to do."

*This is a repost from yesterday, I deleted cause I spelled Chantal with an E instead of an A in the title. lol. Also didn’t post all 15 pics, she wasn’t in the other 3*

Cornelia Guest

Okay, I am going REALLY far back with this one! Cornelia Guest is the daughter of CZ Guest (one of the Swans of the 50s and 60s, as i’m sure most in this sub know lol) and Winston Frederick Churchill Guest. Part of the prominent Guest family. Dubbed “The debutante” of the decade in 1986. Also referred to as the first “Celebutante”. Was besties with Andy Warhol, was always going to Studio 54, Le club, Xenon. Any of you who are like, 55+ remember her or met her in her heyday? I love reading/watching anything to do with late 70s/early 80s NYC. Would love to hear some stories 😄

Stephanie Coleman

Here’s another “where are they now?” post about the socialites of yesteryear! 🤭 I was curious to know if any of you know/knew Stephanie Coleman? (Erckletz is her maiden name). She was in the “Born Rich 2003” documentary that was directed by Johnson & Johnson Heir, Jamie Johnson. She was also a bridesmaid in Eleanor Lembo’s Wedding, along with Tinsley Mortimer. I think i’m most curious about her amongst all the others in the documentary because she married a billionaire lol, Chase Coleman III. He’s a hedge fund manager. So, anyone here know about her and/or her husband?
