Cautious beginner question

I’m mountain-bike-curious, but very cautious. I’m a decent skier, but spent years skiing very slowly and very slowly working my way up from greens to blues to blacks. I really hate falling, and hate feeling out of control. Is there a place in mountain biking for me? Like are there super mellow trails out there? Is it acceptable to work through the tricky spots very slowly, or will that just piss everyone off?

All the mountain bikers i know irl are nuts and fly down mountains and crash which I am definitely not about. Just wondering if it’s worth even trying to get into it.

Can my baby sleep in just a diaper if it’s hot?

We’re in a heatwave right now and the air conditioning can’t keep up. Can I just put my baby down to sleep in a diaper or onesie, no sleep sack? Everything I see online says sleep sack or footed pajamas but it seems way too warm for either of those…but I haven’t seen a single person saying their baby sleeps without one or the other so I’m wondering if there’s a reason for that!

Childproofing double hung “tilt wash” windows

We have nice new windows in our house…but they’re so fancy I’m not sure how to childproof them. They‘re double hung but they don’t only open from the bottom like I’m used to…they also open from the top, AND you can tilt the windows inwards for cleaning (at which point if you let go they just fall off). Anyone had any luck securing these types of windows?

Looking for thin cotton workout pants

I feel like this isn't a crazy thing but I’m having a shockingly hard time finding any—I just want thin, 100% cotton athletic pants with an elasticated cuff. So like sweatpants or joggers but thin material. I’ve found some cotton harem pants that would do the job I guess, but I’d like something without the drop crotch.

Help with safely clipping and unclipping leash

My dog gets snappy when you go to clip his leash on or take it off. It’s worse with other people, but even with me he gets snappy if he’s in a bad mood. I’ve put a ton of work into reducing his reactivity (training, meds, veterinary behaviorist etc), and we've gotten to the point where he walks very nicely. The only remaining issue (with walking, anyway), is getting the leash on and off. Is there any way to do that from a distance?

I know people often use a slip lead for this kind of thing, but I don’t want to make him hate being on leash. I thought about the stick clips climbers use but I don’t think it would work for getting the clip off. I tried searching for some kind of clip on a stick that opens and closes but apparently they don’t exist. Any ideas?

A stick with a clip that opens and closes

A stick with a clip on the end of it that closes AND opens. Like a grabber tool, but one that fully closes/locks. i originally thought of the stick clips that climbers use, but i need something that opens more easily.

Where to change a diaper on a train without changing tables

I did a search and see this question has been posted quite a number of times…but never with any real answers. I’m on the NE Regional line which doesn’t have changing tables. What’s the move? I’d say 90% of the time the bathroom floors are way too disgusting to even put a changing mat on (flooded, covered in urine etc). On a seat seems rude. Cafe car tables obviously are a no go. Is just putting a mat down in the middle of the aisle the only option?

Organizing recurring reminders

my previous question got answered lickety split, but now I have a more complicated one:

Is there any way to organize recurring reminders, other than by time?

I’m trying to make a packing list for work. I need different things for different days (ie I have one list for M/W/F and another list for T/Th). So far I have figured out two possible solutions, but neither is ideal. I’ve figured out how to make each item on the packing list its own reminder which recurs on the appropriate day, but then I get an overwhelmingly long to do list. Or I just add a daily reminder to pack for work, and then have two labeled packing lists that don’t have reminders attached. But I know at some point I’m going to get my days mixed up and open the wrong list.

My hope is to either have a daily list with subtasks, so its at least a bit more organized and less scary looking, OR, ideally, to have a reminder that somehow links/opens up to a list.

How to create recurring reminder for multiple days of the week

Is there any way to create a reminder that will repeat, say, every tuesday-Thursday? I see how to make one for every weekday, or for one particular day of the week, but I feel like surely there’s got to be a way to do it for multiple days.

Amex charged fee after six years

Anyone know if there’s been a policy change for Amex regarding the military fee waiver? I’m active duty, been in for nine years, have had an Amex card for six. I just got charged the fee for the first time ever. Talked to a customer service rep over the text chat and they just offered me the chance to cancel and get a refund.

I know they aren’t required to waive the fee but I’m curious if there’s been a change, or if they are signaling me out for some reason (no late payments or bad credit or any obvious reason), or if theres just a particular way to go about requesting the fee waiver.

What is this Joyful Butts diaper?

Got this in a box of used diapers. Tag says ‘Joyfull Butts’. it’s got a microfiber inside and a stretchy outside. Doesn’t feel like any all-in-one diaper I’ve seen before. I was thinking maybe a swim diaper but it doesn’t feel quite like one of those either. Anyone have any clue what it is?
