Micro French press

Does anyone have a recommendation for a narrow small French press? I'd like to be able to run under 25g. My current press is a bit to large and I lose the Ability to fully squeeze the EA outta the cactus powderand thus recovery isn't as effective.

There's some super cheap ones online that are glass with a plastic top. Mine current press also has a plastic top and I had no issues with it.

Thanks in advance!

The big lesson

Patience.

Got four jars salted and sitting and so antsy to see the yields. Could just stir em and get powder but those long needles make everyone happy

I'll tease what I got crashing

Noid2. The 3.6% spineless boy. Confirming yield on another piece

Oceanside 02. Blue. Fast. Supposedly on the strong side.

bridgesii Helen. Directly from Bob at Misplant. This is the clone not a cross. pH strips were deep green... 🤞

Landscape. Bridgesoid? Clone I got thru Facebook. Thin columns but it grows fast and pups so much, I tried to get the guy I got it from to name it "not6bap" but it was already named landscape and he just needed to get that info.

Not super common. Supposed to me pretty low alkaloid content, but the pH strips were pretty dark. So may be a surprise waiting in that jar

Noid1 second run. Some information on genetics

Ran some smaller pieces with the core included this time. The newer growth made peeling the core out impossible so I just left it. Still pretty pleased with this result.

Found the tag yesterday when I was out at the greenhouse. Bridge x Pach. That's all I got. Messaged the human you I got it from and they don't want anything to do with this side of things, waiting to hear if they have any extra info like where the seeds came from.

Gonna confirm tomorrow

Noid/lost label. I reported 5.27% and called it NoID1 I feel like I might find a tag next time I go out. Went obsessively thru old photos and at least know what type of tag to look for now.

I know I had a few no ID seedlings someone sold me a pack of over discord. Wondering if it's one of those possibly...

Hesitant to name anything I didn't grow from seed but also would like to eventually get this one out to the community so a name would be nice.

Gotten chewed out for naming stuff before so I may just keep it for myself lol

Currently in the dehydrater and should be salted sometime tomorrow afternoon. Then three or five days for crystals.

Nothing is the world of cactus moved fast and that's one of the best things I've learned so far

Enjoy you day and tell someone you love, that you love them

An interesting batch

Cielo from the highland Huancoensis. Fumerate.

Came out fluffy when I usually get needles. Did a few others outta the same batch of EA and this was the only one. Gonna soak it in some fresh neutral EA and see if I lose any weight. Tasted slightly sour in way that's different. Usual amount of fumeric acid was used and well within the capacity of the solvent to hold.

So it's a curious thing

I'll update

The last photo is the combined output from three separate runs that sat for 24 slow diffuse and then mag stirred for 10-15 minutes with a gear bar(which is a new thing for me the gear, absolutely a game changer. Thing works perfect from lower rpms and to top speed, while the bars need to be run higher to get going and spin out sooner. Get a gear) on around 500 rpm.

These aren't the biggest crystals I've gotten but it's morphologically closer ti what I usually get following the same method I always use

Update edit

So I soaked the fluffy material in new EA for three house. Neutral ph was observed. Total recovery of 927mg. Down from 971mg. So loss of 44mg Feeling confident it's fumerate

There was a post I can't find

It was discussing EA that's so dark you can't see thru it after being used for multiple runs.

I think it was an additional step in the carb wash?

Any help would be appreciated

What's in a name?

Plant name : Noid 1 and Noid2

General location: state of Jefferson (nor cal/Southern Oregon)

Agricultural zone: 8a

Date of harvest: roughly a week ago

Age of plant (if known): unknown. Both have been in my collection for at least three years

Weight of dry cutting: noid1 28.2 g noid2 39.7g

Dehydration temperature: 120f

Length in dehydrator: 24h

Number of pulls: did 2x EA

Salt used: fum

Yield:

noid1 1.4875g

Noid2 1.4999g

Percentage by dry weight:

Noid1 5.27%

Noid2 3.7%

Field notes:

These have been grown in full sun for two years before getting planted in ground in my greenhouse last fall. A wide variety of nutes used, organics ala worm/humic/fish tea to ammonia nitrogen salts and smurf food.

My soil is built by me over the last seven ish years, so very alive with mycos, and beneficial bacteria and worms.

I have a slight guess where Noid2 came from but I'm not positive so I'm not sharing that yet.

Heading out to green house later today and will get good pictures of the pieces in ground.

Prior to this my best yield was 3.6 with Eileen so breaking my pb twice felt pretty delightful.

Curious if the 2x ea had anything to do with this or if I just picked stronger cuts than I had before
