How to cross the street on a bike in a city that wants to kill cyclist?

So I’m from Phoenix metro, we’re famous for cyclist getting run down…. A lot. We got 6 land “local” streets where the limit is 45 but everyone drives 60+. So far I been cycling for a few weeks for exercise but I never crossed a real intersection, I just been making right turns and in and around HOA’s.

So my question is we have a lot intersections that look like this and I want to know both while crossing and waiting, do I wait at A or wait at B? My experience is I seen drivers plow pretend they see nothing whether road markings or red lights. I just want the highest chance of not getting run over by clean non working pickups.

Owners of aluminum frames, have you ever “broke” the frame?

Other than a really bad automobile accident or doing something really dumb, has anyone ever damaged an aluminum frame from wear and tear to the point it’s unusable? Thinking about moving from steel to aluminum soon.

Trying cycling out. Torker U-District.

Happy to learn there is a group about single speed bikes. This is my first “adult” bike for losing weight. I had a folding bike I barely used and I never get the gearing right, especially when I start from a stop. I only ride at night around 11pm-1am since I live in Phoenix which is known for hitting cyclists for fun.

Do I have enough clearance for 32 wheels?

Picked up random road bike (torker u-district if anyone cares) off fb marketplace and it came with 28’s. I’ll use these until they get more worn but would like to install 32s after. Do I have enough clearance for it based on these pictures?

Is this a major concern?

Hi guys, I have a 2022 Toyota Sienna XSE with 20 inch but I’m trying to get rid of for 18 inch wheels. Anyways I saw this on FB marketplace. 3 of them look good and 1 is the one in the pictures. ($350 for all 4) The seller said her son drive for a whole year with no issues until he swapped them out.

I asked a general male group and most of them say it’s bad but I got a 2 people that worked for Toyota that says the silver alloy looking part is plastic and the wheel integrity is fine. I might as well ask the real experts here.
