Future classic
It’s too small for me (56), I might go the gravel/endurance route, but it flies and rides so smooth ! Used to have an SL6, night and day diff
Would you trust a chain from China?
I ride 105 and buy Shimano 105 CN-HG601 chains. Would you trust quality from the cheap options seen on Ali Express, Temu etc? I can likely get two chains for the same price as one Shimano…
Need advice on a bike as a taller person
Hello All,
I am new to Road biking and unsure what to get as there is so many options !!
I am 6ft5 so I think I need an xxl or a 61/62cm bike, I'm thinking mid range, about £1500/£2000, If anyone has any surjections please help
Thank you
If road cycling is so cool to us, why do roadies get so much hate?
reddit.comUpgrading the crank 52/42T.
Have this vintage steel bike with rear spacing 126mm, has a cassette 14-28T on the back, crank is 52/42 on a french 68mm BB square taper. Would like to put a modern crank in the front to help climbing the hills more easily. What options do I have in the front, like what is a common crank combination that would bring good gear ratios for the climbing. Replacing the existing crank with a modern one, requires a BB replacement too, so found a company ROI that manufactures French Hollowtech BB 68mm if there is not any modern square taper crank that would work with existing BB.
Hey! Curious of people thoughts on older cheap bikes
Don't get me wrong I would love to have money for a nice slick bike that feels effortless to move.
But sadly, I am broke as a dang joke right now with no money coming in as my work co tracts fell thru.
Whatever. Point is here I am on market place looking at the bikes under 100 bucks
Yes I know that's probably a bit ridiculous
To almost always be hoping for a unicorn of a thing to come round and be affordable
Really what im wondering is
Even with my lack of money
Im wondering what bikes that are older are worth looking out for
I've had the old "vintage" road bikes and well sometimes those are sweet but they are heavy
And can be harder to maneuver than I'd like
But ya , just curious on your guyses perspective or advice or if your like oh ya randomly Norco made a hilariously cheap bike that was actually pretty sweet
Anyway, yes one day ill have money so please refrain from the just get more money comments or what not I also believe that because there is so much waste in this world people throw really nice things away all the time Or have things sitting in their basement or garage they haven't looked at or wanted to use in years So I know not everything is free but sure as heck there's plenty of good bikes or really anything these days! Just sitting with no use in their lives and maybe on their way to the dump even
But anyway :)
Thanks yall ♡♡
Is there anything about a road crash a MTB helmet can't handle just as well?
Hello all,
Just got my first nice bike and it's my first time in an aggressive position. I use my mom's commuter helmet and it hurts my neck real bad on long ride because of how much i need to crane to get around the shape. Been looking at new helmets, and one caught my eye, being the Fox Speedframe Pro. It's in the top 10 of Virginia Tech helmets and on sale. Issue is, it's a mountain bike helmet. It has better coverage which I love but also a bigger back so it could hurt my neck. However, I tried it on today and it wasn't an issue. Visor is removable, and I don't mind about ventilation and aerodynamics. This seems like the perfect helmet, but I'm wondering if there's anything special about road crashes that road helmets are meant for, or if an MTB helmet can handle it all. TIA
TL;DR - Is there anything about a road crash MTB helmets would handle worse than a road helmet
Tiny biker roasted me LiL LoL
This morning I got absolutely roasted by a ruthless child on a bike. Went to pass, said, hey, little guy on your right, he looks right up at me with this cold dead eyes and says, hey, old guy, I'm four and three quarters on YOUR left. DeD his parents were mortified.
I replied my apologies , sir and rode off on my old ass way.
Were you satisified with the bike you purchased online?
I am having an internal debate. Do I purchase a known brand online at a premium price or a direct to consumer brand. I see alot of direct to consumer brands (Canyon, Factor, Winspace, Sava, Quick Pro) with great prices. I have a couple of questions for anyone that purchased a bike online.
Where you satisfied with the purchase and quality?
Did you take the bike to get fitted or made adjustments on your own?
Indoor cycling app question
Anyone here use indoor cycling apps (Zwift, rouvy, etc) ? Is connection to Garmin, Strava or any other fitness apps really important to you or is the app progress good enough? Which other fitness apps do you use for your rides? I'm currently using just connect and strava but have seen a few more that seem like good fits.
Is a One-piece-cockpit an actual upgrade?
Hey guys,
I just found a really good deal on an ENVE SES AR
One-Piece-Cockpit (250€) and was wondering of it really is an Upgrade? Its about 200 grams lighter (probably like 4 pieces of bread in freedom units) and i like the looks of it way more than my separat stem and handelbar combo. At the same time i ask myself if the freedom of changing my handelbar angle and keeping 250 bucks is worth more than aesthetic and weight. What are your thoughts?

New to road biking
Hi all!
I’ve always wanted a road bike and to bike 50+ miles. I also have the benefit of living in the LA / Ventura county area so the possibilities are endless. I went to a local shop and they recommended the new X-Lab RS7 for $2100. Would you go this route or find a used bike? If so, which model?
Any reco on all the other gear would also be helpful.
Thanks in advance.
beginner cyclist
I made a post a few weeks ago regarding a beginner bike, I ended up picking up this 2008 specialized allez elite. i’m a beginner cyclist i run more then anything but living in alaska im looking to ride this in the summer and on a trainer in the winter! looking for some recommended upgrades and essentials! any help is appreciated! also interested in bib, jersey recommendations as well as a bike computer since i’m fairly rural in town!
Rim brake carbon wheel recommendations?
I have looked online, watched the tube of you, read reviews. I’m no closer to getting some new rim brake carbon hoops for my Ribble Gran Fondo that I’ve had since god was in shorts, from new. Nearest I’ve come to is Hyper. I’m looking to spend no more than 600 quid. Any ideas gratefully received.
Deal of the century? 3k for TCR advanced Pro 0 di2
Should I snatch up on this insane deal? Currently have the 5th gen defy advanced 2 but something caught my eye on a local market place. A 2025 tcr advanced 0 di2 for 3000 usd. The seller said he rode it for roughly 500km. Is this a worthy upgrade from my defy? I can probably sell it for roughly 2k. The specs for the tcr are ultegra di2 and slr0 carbon wheels
How to skid without popping tire
So I have a road bike and learned how to skid by just slamming on rear breaks and shifting my weight. The problem is I just burnt through tire/inner tube. I’m curious on how people people consistently skid without burning thought tires.
Is this a good roadbike for beginners?
So as the title suggests, I’m a complete newbie to biking as a sport. I’ve only ever done it to commute to and from school, work, etc.
However, I’m now looking into buying a proper roadbike and trying out the sport. Therefore I need some guidance on what to get, where I can try it out without splurging on something ridiculous, that doesn’t match my level.
I’m in pretty good shape because I run 25-30km a week (doing a half marathon in September) but I want to use my time on something other than running as well.
In the picture you see a pretty good looking bike - the Canyon Endurace Allroad (https://www.canyon.com/da-dk/landevejs-cykler/endurance-cykler/endurace/allroad/endurace-allroad/4477.html?dwvar\_4477\_pv\_rahmenfarbe=R138\_P01&dwvar\_4477\_pv\_rahmengroesse=M).
My questions to you guys are: Is this a good beginners bike? Would I need to upgrade in the near future or should it satisfy my needs as of right now? Is the difference between carbon and aluminium really that noticeable? Is this a good bike for the money?
Looking forward to getting some guidance! Thank you in advance :)
