ULPT: How to stay sharp and attentive when you work really long hours

I work in consulting for context, and I’ll have routine 70+ hour weeks. I’ll start the day at 6:00 am and keep going till past 3:00 am some days. Sometimes during the day though I find myself zoning out during meetings and not being able to process things as fast as I should. Even churning when it comes to getting started on work and finishing pages. What helps here? I already have adhd and take medication for it, but even then I still don’t feel wired

Unhealthy relationship with money stemming from family trauma?

Is it a documented phenomenon to have a really unhealthy relationship with money stemming from the stress your parents had about money?

As a kid, my father made it clear that we did not have money. His frugality would drive me insane. Every little purchase would be scrutinized. Why did you buy candy, why did you buy chips, why do you need it? Even when I had my first job in high school. He expected the money I made to be saved. He'd get very mad when I wanted to freely spend the money I made. I had to ask for permission for anything I wanted to buy.

His instinctual response when I asked for anything was no; with zero hesitation. In addition he'd always pass stress about money on to me, my sisters, and my mom. My mom would hide when she went to the grocery store and got a little extra snack for us.

When I moved out for college and graduated, I turned into a money hungry drone where my only motivation in my career is to maximize my earning potential so that maybe one day he'll be willing to say something like "son, you make enough to where the lattes you buy aren't going to make a dent, you have my blessing in perpetuity."

This has also led to the bad habit of impulse purchases. I walk down the street hoping I'll come across something expensive I can purchase to reclaim some kind of control over my life I didn't have as a child. Or having the urge to go to the convenience store to purchase snacks I was always criticised for doing growing up.

Has anyone had to remedy this wound, better yet, is it even real?

Am I supposed to be doing anything? Consulting/headhunters/growth equity

Hey everyone, to get right to it, am I supposed to be actively reaching out to mega funds/firms I am interested in?

How should one coming from consulting handle headhunter outreaches etiquette wise?

And

Should I be reaching out to headhunting agencies myself, or the funds directly?

I get headhunters reaching out on a weekly basis, mostly recruiting for newer pe firms but occasionally getting a mega funds and well established growth equity funds. Whenever I respond to say yes I’m interested, I never get any replies. I dropped the ball 2 months into my job by missing an in office info session for a growth shop that I like because I thought it was way too early to leave, now I’m learning that pe recruits 2 years in advance. I’m starting to feel like the ship has sailed.

Lease question

Apologies for this question- it feels like something a father figure should have told me about.

How possible is it for me to cancel a lease if I find out coverage is too high?

I’m looking to lease a Tesla model 3. I’ve budgeted around 800-900/month for it including lease, coverage, and charging. I’ve been trying to get an accurate quote but no one will give me one without the vin, which I know Tesla won’t provide.

Over the phone, companies were quoting me at least $1000-1800 a month. No bad history but live in a pretty reckless city. If I get the Tesla and get an accurate quote that’s in the $1000 range, there is NO WAY I would pay that. Maybe a better question is, is there a way to get an accurate quote before leasing?

Would love some criticism on my 3 point shot

Used to be a really good shooter when I was in middle school; that’s changed since my hiatus from basketball. My shot is horrible and inconsistent these days.

Is there anything that stands out as a red flag?

I noticed I don’t really get off the ground much when shooting. I also almost always know when a shot is not going in as soon as I shoot it. i can just tell that I flicked it too far left or right.
