Quick review of the HD08

I’ve been using the dyson hd08 for a bit now (ignore my cat lol), so here are my thoughts

First impression:

- it feels really solid in hand. the matte finish gives it a premium feel and it looks nice overall. it’s a bit heavy but still comfortable to hold. design-wise it also looks pretty clean when just sitting in the bathroom

Performance:

- my girlfriend has mid-length hair and normal dryers usually take her around 15 minutes or more, plus it gets tiring to hold

- with the hd08, using medium airflow and medium heat, it takes around 6–7 minutes to fully dry her hair. it also feels more even, especially near the roots

- the magnetic nozzles are convenient too. they snap on easily and stay in place. switching between the small nozzle and big one is quick and simple

- noise is also better compared to regular hair dryers. still not silent, but less harsh

Downsides:

- after using it for a while, your arm can still get a bit tired

the cable is long enough but feels a bit stiff, so storing it neatly takes some effort

also the attachments are useful, but you need a place to keep them or they can get a bit messy

Overall:

- works well, dries fast, and the magnetic design is convenient. just a few small things to keep in mind

Shipping Context

I used Mulebuy to ship these to Germany and they landed in 16 days

Pros

- Solid metal earcups and the overall build feels heavy and legit.

- Sound quality is an 8.5/10, but only after using Flycc for the EQ. It makes it sound way warmer.

- Volume can actually go louder than the retail pair

- The button press feels nice and smooth, very close to the real thing

Cons

- the digital crown is much heavier than retail and you can hear a bit of rubbing noise

- They weigh about 15g less than the originals if you actually care about that.

- Transparency mode has a slight hiss and feels a bit off compared to the v2.5.

- Sound leakage is a bit worse than the real ones, even if you swap the ear pads.

Overall

Build: 8/10

Sound: 8.5/10 (With EQ)

ANC: 7.5/10

Transparency: 7.5/10
