Fresh cow/buffalo milk vs packaged milk in HSR — what are you guys using?

Hey guys,

I’ve been having Nandini GoodLife UHT Toned Milk at night and sometimes in coffee. I’ve also tried Akshayakalpa cow milk, and honestly, I liked Akshayakalpa better out of the two.

Back in my hometown, I was used to getting milk from a guy who delivered it to our home. After moving here, I realised that finding good, reliable fresh milk isn’t that straightforward. I’ve also heard that the quality of feed and how the cows are taken care of can vary quite a bit from farm to farm, so I thought it might be better to stick with some reputed brands.

I’d heard good things about Akshayakalpa and their model from someone who knows the business, so I gave it a try and have been pretty happy with it.

I only use around 500 ml a week, since I have milk maybe 4 times a week. The place I used to get fresh milk from now only has a 2-day shelf life, which doesn’t really work for me.

So I ended up trying the Nandini GoodLife UHT tetra pack partly because of the shelf life, but also just to try something different. 😄

A while back I saw a Reddit post mentioning a few places in Whitefield and Marathahalli where you can get fresh milk every morning at a particular time.

Does anyone know if there are similar places in HSR?

Also curious what you guys are doing — do you get fresh milk from local shops, or do you just stick to packaged milk? If packaged, which brand do you prefer and why?

Would love to hear some recommendations/experiences, especially from people around HSR. :

Cycling routes/groups/places suggestions

Hey guys,

From last few weeks i am going for cycling every day. Shorter (\~5km on weekdays) and longer (\~10km on weekends). Today i covered the defence area around HSR and sarjapur, this stretch was around 10km and it took me 1hour.

My main concern is, roads and traffic. In morning i like to ride where the greenery, low traffic, and somewhat good road for cycling.

Do any of you guys know a good routes/groups/events/places where we can cycle in morning?

Is porting to VI from Jio a good option for Bengaluru?

Hi everyone,

I've been using a Jio SIM as my primary number ever since I got my personal phone. My primary residence is in Bengaluru, and I also spend time at my secondary residence in Gujarat.

I currently recharge with Jio's ₹189 plan, which gives 28 days of validity, 2GB total data, and unlimited calls. Since I'm usually connected to Wi-Fi, this plan works well for me. I only use mobile data occasionally for UPI payments, booking rides, and other essential tasks when I'm outside. If I need more data during a trip, I simply do a top-up recharge.

The problem is that Jio's network quality has been quite poor since I moved to Bengaluru. I experience weak signal strength, dropped calls, and unreliable internet connectivity—not just inside my room, but even while walking outdoors.

Because of this, I'm considering porting my number to either Airtel or Vi. The plans I'm looking at are priced similarly, but I'm unsure about Vi's network performance in Bengaluru.

I know Airtel generally has a strong reputation in Bengaluru, but I've also heard some positive things about Vi recently. For those who have used either network in Bengaluru, especially for calls and basic mobile data usage, would you recommend Vi, or is Airtel still the safer choice?

Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

Looking for bicycle recommendations for Bengaluru commuting + weekend rides

Hi everyone,

I'm planning to buy my first geared bicycle and would appreciate some recommendations.

My details:

  • Height: 5'9" (176 cm)
  • Weight: ~60 kg
  • Location: Bengaluru

Usage:

  • Primary: Office commute
  • Secondary: Fitness, stamina building, and city exploration

Ride distance:

  • Daily commute: 5–8 km
  • Weekend rides: 10–15 km (may gradually increase)

Requirements:

  • Budget: ₹15,000–20,000
  • Preferably 7 gears (cause never used gears on a bicycle)
  • Comfortable for city roads and occasional rough patches
  • Low maintenance preferred

A few questions:

  1. Which models offer the best value around ₹15k?
  2. Is Decathlon Riverside 120 still the best option in this budget?
  3. Are there any good alternatives from Cradiac, Firefox, Montra, OMO, etc.?
  4. Any local Bengaluru stores you'd recommend apart from Decathlon?

Would love to hear from people using their bicycles for daily office commutes and weekend exploration.

Thanks!
