Help - assembling cable winch
Need help inserting the shaft with magnet into a winch housing
Hi everyone, I’m hoping someone can help me with an issue I’m having while assembling a cable winch. I disassembled it only to notice after that those four blocks are spring loaded.
I need to insert the shaft into the winch housing, but I’m stuck because the four spring-loaded metal blocks at the back are pushing inward toward the center. I can’t move/keep them aside to get the shaft inserted. They can be moved but I have to find a way to keep them aside somehow. I already thouhgt of freeze a block of ice and put it in there as a spaceholder but seems not to be the optimal way.
Has anyone dealt with this before? Is there a trick to holding these blocks back or a specific way to install the shaft without damaging the parts?
