Love this sub, made Greek white navy bean soup (Fasolada)
Fasolada, a traditional Greek white navy bean soup. Trying to eat more beans.
Whole wheat bread from the local bakery toasted and drizzled with extra virgin extra Greek olive oil from my families olive orchard and oregano from the mountains of Greece.
Not pictured Feta eaten.
Fresh & ripe figs my husband brought picked off a fig tree
He brought these sweet figs from his workplace Fig tree. He and his colleagues collected figs from.
Lucky for me he doesn’t like figs, so more for me 😄
Also rice cake with whipped spicy Greek Feta, Greek tomatos, red onion, EVVO from my families olive oil and basil from my balcony garden.
Moved to Greece and am so content.
I moved to Greece over 2 years ago.
My only regret is not doing it sooner this way.
Born and raised in the US from Greek immigrant parents. Married my wonderful man almost 10 years ago.
Moved from East Coast US, to Greece originally in 2019 with my husband but worked a horrible job that paid hella well and lived in a bougee part of Athens but the job ruined my mental health and made me incredibly depressed.
My wonderful husband realized this wasn’t good for my health and agreed to return to East Coast US even though he had hated his life there and had been miserable when we were living there together for ~2.5 years (he moved to the US to be with me).
We landed in the US, to try to make it work again a few days before borders closed on March 9th 2020. My husband got a decent state job but had a horrible commute of 4 hours which didn’t help at all with quality of life. After trying again for 2 years I said that for his well being and the health of our marriage we should try Greece again and that this time I could work remotely for a US company.
My husband agreed only if we were to live where my big fat extended Greek family lived so that it would feel like an easier adjustment and have a huge circle of support. After a lot of planning we were able to make it work and after long distance dating, almost 5ish years of us being unhappy in the US and those early years of marriage being soo unhappy we’re finally both so content and happy. My anxiety is still sometimes worried something bad may happen. I’m in therapy to help me with this.
Wishing everyone a happy Sunday.
Girl brunch:
Tomato, basil I grew, cottage cheese, drizzle of fig balsamic vinaigrette. Toasted whole wheat bread from a local bakery and 2 sunny side eggs from my Aunt’s chickens.
Anyone else working from a One bedroom home?
Hi all, longtime lurker first time posting here. I WFH and my husband and I god willing plan to start trying in the coming months. We are going to move into a small seaside town in a small single family home with a little yard that I’m really excited about.
The only concern I have is that since WFH we’ve always lived in a large 2 bedroom apartment and unfortunately most of the places in this little town have extremely small spaces to rent.
In a perfect world I would’ve loved have a separate room to put their crib and have their own space and bookshelf but that won’t be possible where we plan to move will be just 1 bedroom and a kind of large living room, small kitchen and 1 bathroom. I plan to have my WFH office space in the living room.
I know I’ve heard before the first few months baby maybe doesn’t need their own space necessarily, right? Sorry if I sound ignorant I’m still learning a lot. We plan to stay for likely 2 years there.
Any advice or experiences others have in making it work with a little one WFH in a 1 bedroom home/apartment? TIA

Grateful for this sub and being able to experience these sights and nature
Very grateful to live ~2 hrs by car (and a short boat ride) to these destinations that others are flying in from around Europe and elsewhere.
This is in Western Greece.

Blue Lagoon Beach
Moved to Greece 2 years ago, helped my body relax and get healthier
Took a last minute getaway with my husband that is a 2 hr drive and ~1 hour boat ride away from where we live in Greece to experience these incredible waters in the Ionian Sea.
Hadn’t felt so relaxed just floating in these waters in a while.

A lot of walking and began doing Pilates and aerobic classes in the gym 3x a week. Also walking 7,000-10,000+ steps a day and IF fasting, focused on protein, reduced carbs and tracking calories.
