I picked up a new in box Alienware desktop for $1560. 285k/5080/32gb RAM/2tb SSD

I was going to put the 5080 in my own rig but I really don't need it and I really do need the money so I listed it and sold it just now for $2100. I only owned it for 48 hours and did nothing lol.

It took me an hour to pick it up ten minutes to list it and 20 minutes to meet with the buyer. That's like $375/hr. Hell yeah!

I already have a banging machine with a 9800x3d and a 5070, I picked this up because the price was too good to be true thinking I can just harvest the GPU for my own rig and pop in my 5070 and try to sell the rig for $1400-$1560 to enjoy a cheap 5080.

My question is if Dell still locks their CPUs to their motherboard, or if that was just an AMD thing. I know I had a 5950x a while back that was locked to a Dell motherboard which sucked, I had to sell it for like 50% of the value of an unlocked one. If I harvest the GPU and have trouble selling the rig, I could part it out for probably $1500 (before eBay fees) as long as that CPU isn't locked to a Dell motherboard.

this is a smash buy, right? I would probably be trying to sell it, but I might take the 5080 out to replace my 5070 and try to sell it that way, but I'm concerned about losing a lot of value by opening the pristine box. I even have the original receipt from best buy from the seller.

I put in a bid for $370 on ebay for a 9800x3d on an impulse and won. I didn't even think of checking r/hardwareswap where they sell all day long for $350. I already have a 9700x so I really don't need this.

Other parts are a 5070 GPU and 32gb 6000mhz RAM.

My options are to resell the 9800x3d and lose probably $80-90 in fees, taxes, and shipping, or sell the 9700x for $200 after fees and shipping.

I'm leaning towards keeping the x3d.

I like to play at 1440p, mostly cyberpunk and balatro, but I'm planning to play through Baldur's Gate 3 soon as well

I have a 5070 and I love it, but I have an option to pick up a 4070 ti super for $550 tomorrow. I could sell my 5070 locally for $475-500 pretty easily. Gas is like $15 for the pickup so I'm going to be out maximum $90 for this upgrade, plus about an hour of time.

Is it worth it? I play a lot of cyberpunk and balatro. I'm planning to do BG3 this summer as well and maybe some other demanding games.

I play on 1440p OLED.

Hey folks, I got my 13 year old to commit to watch 3 episodes of TNG. He knows nothing of Star Trek.

I need 3 episodes to watch to try to hook him on a full series watch.

I know season 1 can be a bit of a slog so I don't want to just do the first three episodes.

He also wants to be a civil rights lawyer if that helps.

Please help me. I want this to work.
