Motherhood at its finest- A mama hen fighting for her babies' food.

Two chicks were snacking on some COOHGRUBS BSFL when their mama joined the fight. Eventually, the rooster stepped in to break up the conflict. I guess both of those chicks must be his kids! 😂

Looking at these two pics, which BSFL should I go with?

Hey guys,Thanks to your advice on my last post about my hen's protein deficiency (soft eggs/feather loss), I bought some black soldier fly larvae (BSFL).I got two different brands, but they look totally different:

  • Box 1: Super dark/pitch black and full of crushed crumbs.
  • Box 2: Golden-brown and whole (intact)(Pricier).

Which one should I choose for her? Is the dark, burnt-looking one safe or low quality?

my another chicken is losing a massive amount of feathers, and she's also laying soft-shelled eggs.

One of my chickens laid an egg with only a transparent membrane—it has no shell at all. Another chicken laid a soft-shelled egg, similar to the one in the picture. It's slightly firmer than the first one and can be pinched and lifted with fingers.

My girl lay an egg without shell

Why did my hen lay an egg without shell? This is my first time encountering this. Lately, my hen have been losing their feathers continuously. Have you guys ever run into this situation?
