Have inspection coming up. I failed the first time for having the stove to close to the brick even though it's non combustible, town also told me not to seal anything and when inspector showed up he said that is not the case so added that to the failure.

From my understanding two inspections have to happen one for the clearances and then another inspector for building ?

Edit: for the uneducated, the pipe IS NOT backwards it's double wall pipe the inside of the pipe clears upward making the outside look the pipe is installed backward.

Or is this fine and I'm just panicking ? Inspector is due to come next week should I buy an extended snout?

This is going through a masonry wall no combustibles. should I also fill in the gaps with mortar ?.

Long story short town told me I had to remove old terracotta and replace with a liner. Anyway while up here I noticed this and can't help notice that I may need to fix this before inspector comes and approves the run.

Now, looking inside the chimney the brick looks perfectly fine it seems the previous owners laid down brick and then sealed it with mortar around the outside? Do I just chip away at the old mortar about 4inches wide and laid down new mortar?.

Also how can I do better in terminating the cap? Do I just bend it down and morph it to the top of the chimneys slant ?

I did the terracotta rip out and the run my self, the cheapest a company quoted me for this exact job was 4500 the most was 6k and I couldn't fathom paying those prices for something so simple.

Any criticism welcome I'd like to make sure this lasts 20+ years.

Had just gotten home and walked to check my mailbox some lady drove up the curb hit my mailbox and drove off. Had I gotten home 30 seconds earlier I probably would've gotten taken out.

I managed to catch up to her about two blocks away at dunkin donuts checking her cars damage, pulled up behind her called the police and filed a report and submitted this video with the police officer.

Thing is I usually send my kids to check the mail.

EDIT: Thank you guys seems like my deck was not adjusted to the right height, my 3in is actually 2.5in Even though dealer told me they adjusted everything before they shipped it new to me.

Looks like I'll be leveling the deck before the next cut.
