25 year old male from India. Been experiencing diffuse hair loss for the past 3 years and have lost around 80% of my density evenly across the scalp (not pattern baldness — fully diffuse).

Current medication:

1.Finax 1mg (Finasteride) — just started, 20 days in

Blood report key findings:

🔴 Abnormal — High:

1.Testosterone: 1086 ng/dL (normal: 164–753)

2.DHT: 1182.52 pg/mL (normal: 143–842)

3.Homocysteine: 21.01 µmol/L (normal: <15)

4.Bilirubin Total: 2.48 mg/dL (likely Gilbert's Syndrome)

🔴 Abnormal — Low:

1.Vitamin D: 16.4 ng/mL (deficient — normal: 30–100)

2.Vitamin B12: 164 pg/mL (normal: 197–771)

✅ Normal:

1.Thyroid (TSH: 2.455) ✅

2.Iron & Ferritin (48.2) ✅

3.Zinc (108.7) ✅

4.Liver enzymes (SGOT 16.9, SGPT 11.1) ✅

5.Blood sugar HbA1c (4.4%) ✅

Scalp issue:

Also have dandruff and a black sticky buildup forming quickly on the scalp. I lost almost 80% of my hair within 3 Years.

My questions for the community:

1.My DHT is 1182 — finasteride reduces DHT by only 70% which still leaves it around 355. Should I switch to Dutasteride 0.5mg which suppresses 98%? Has anyone with similarly high DHT had better results with Dutasteride?

2.Could my Vitamin D deficiency (16.4) be a major contributing factor to the diffuse pattern? Started D-Rise 60K weekly loading dose.

3.Anyone experienced similar diffuse loss with high testosterone + high DHT combination? What worked?

4.Is 20 days too early to evaluate Finax? Should I wait it out or push for Dutasteride switch now?

Has anyone here filed a complaint on the CM Helpline grievance portal?

Did your issue actually get resolved? How long did it take to get a response?

In my area, the Sub Registrar hasn’t come to the office for almost 2 weeks. I’m planning to check again tomorrow, and if he’s still not there, I’m thinking of filing a complaint through the portal.

Before doing that, I wanted to know real experiences — is it effective or just slow?
