Gapped rings for boost
Hi all. I am currently building an m52 bmw 2.8 engine for a project. I think I will eventually turbo this car so I am gapping the rings for boost. If I decided to stay NA, would I need to re-ring the pistons?

M52 2.8 rebuild updates
I started my summer project building a 2.8 liter to swap into my z3 this winter. I started with an 80k short block. I knew it had one bad piston, but after digging in, its going to get 6 pistons and rings. The bearings were not wiped out, so it looks like this one might go back together again
Surprisingly, the bores cleaned up well.

Anyone here super familiar with IMPA? I can successfully connect to the DME, but anytime I try to connect to the ASC module, or any non engine module, I get an error that IMPA can’t communicate with that module? Any advice?
