For students doing TikTok affiliate: here’s another way to find brand deals

Sharing this for working students here who are doing TikTok affiliate marketing or thinking of trying it as an extra source of allowance/income.

Usually ang advice for beginners is to reach the follower requirement, add products sa showcase/yellow basket, then start making content. Pero something I don’t see discussed as much is how content creators actually find brands and affiliate campaigns once they start taking it more seriously.

Aside from looking through TikTok Shop and reaching out to brands manually, I recently came across ShopSlayer, an open TikTok affiliate marketplace in the Philippines that connects content creators directly with brand campaigns.

Basically, brands put up their campaigns, then TikTok affiliates/content creators can browse available brand deals and opt in instead of emailing or DMing brands one by one.

If you’re still a student and starting out, though, don’t treat affiliate marketing as easy or guaranteed money. Focus muna on learning how to make good content, finding a niche, understanding what products your audience actually likes, and being consistent. Then once you’re comfortable creating, explore TikTok affiliate platforms, affiliate marketplaces, and brand campaigns instead of relying only on random product links or cold messaging brands.

Hopefully this helps anyone here who’s trying to earn while studying. If you’re already doing TikTok or Shopee affiliate, share your tips din for other students, especially what helped you get your first sales or brand opportunities.

ShopSlayer made me rethink how PH businesses can use TikTok affiliates

Hi business owners! Curious if anyone here has started experimenting with TikTok affiliate marketing as part of their marketing strategy? Napansin ko kasi ang daming small businesses na gusto mag TikTok pero ang usual problem is content. Either kailangan gumawa internally, hire content creators, or constantly reach out to influencers for brand deals.

Recently I’ve been looking more into the affiliate model, where instead of paying creators purely upfront, businesses can open campaigns and let TikTok or Shopee affiliates create content around their products and earn commissions from sales.

I also came across ShopSlayer, which positions itself as an affiliate marketplace connecting brands with creators. Interesting yung concept because instead of businesses manually looking for content creators one by one, you can potentially have affiliates discover the campaign themselves. Obviously, hindi naman automatic sales just because maraming creators. You still need a good product, competitive commission, decent creative direction, and content that actually converts.

Pero for smaller PH businesses without a huge marketing budget, I feel like this model is worth discussing. For business owners who have tried TikTok affiliates, Shopee affiliates, or creator marketplaces, kumusta ROI compared to traditional influencer deals? Would you rather pay creators upfront or work on a commission per sale model?

From emailing brands with no replies to finally getting affiliate opportunities

When I started trying TikTok affiliate marketing, honestly wala akong idea what I was doing. 😭 I was a small content creator emailing and messaging brands hoping to get brand deals, pero most of the time seen lang or walang reply. I even thought kailangan mo talaga ng malaking followers before brands would notice you.

Eventually, I started attending creator events like iFace Expo, learning from other TikTok content creators and Shopee affiliates, and actually treating my content like a portfolio instead of just posting randomly.

One thing that helped was discovering platforms like ShopSlayer, where I could see affiliate campaigns and opportunities with brands instead of relying purely on cold emails. Hindi pa naman ako yung “successful affiliate” na sobrang laki na ng earnings haha. But compared to where I started, malaking win na for me na may opportunities na ngayon that I didn’t have before.

If you’re also starting as a TikTok or Shopee affiliate, don’t get discouraged kapag walang pumapansin initially. Improve your videos, build your portfolio, learn what type of content works, and keep showing up. Sometimes your first win isn’t the commission itself. It’s finally getting that first brand to give you a chance. 🥹
