Question for men who transitioned in the 1960s and 70s

I'll keep this short, I am writing a book placed in the 70s and I want to know realistically, how transitioning went for you. If you had to DIY, or the steps you had to go through to get perscription. More points if you can tell me what it was like and live(d) in the UK.

Almost done treatment but insane joint pain

I'm considering taking my dose every 3rd day to see if this helps. I'm moving away so I can't just lower my dose for a longer time as I don't have that time with my derm.

Ive only recently gotten some low back / hip and knee pain in the past 2 months but it's all the time now. I was a very flexible person despite my scoliosis. So I want to be cautious of causing more harm than good, and I feel so stiff compared to how I was it makes me sad. But I'm still so greatful for accutane it saved me in other ways. I'm 8 months on rn.

Im taking omega 3 oil, should I take anything else for the pain? What did you find work for you?

Hello Swansea residents,

As the title states I am moving over to become one of you for the next few years and I'm putting this post out as a feeler if any of you want to know more. I'm looking for me and my partner, anything helps. Cheers!

Oasis aqualounge, I'm nervous

I went once very briefly with my partner to see what it was and we haven't been back since but I want to go truly indulge in it. Those who've gone, what are your experiences and advice, what night should we attend? We're young and both trans (ftm and mtf)

Sleep paralysis for 6 years

I've noticed most people here have only had maybe a few experinces so I wanted to talk about what it's like for me. I don't get sleep paralysis often anymore like I did at the start, but I also know how to sense it coming and break out of it before anything happens now. Still,

I find it fascinating despite the fear I feel in the moment.

  1. I've never opened my eyes. I knew I was experiencing sleep paralysis when it first happened and I refused to open my eyes for fear I may see something. So everytime I would instead hear and feel things, a weight on my chest or a grab of the shoulder, perhaps feeling smothered or like something whispering in my ear.
  2. I still had dreams while experincing sleep paralysis. More recently, the paralysis that has had long enough to entrap me has started off as an earie dream. Something is just not right, I'm more concious but not fully aware, I'm afraid and feel whatever is happening in the dream physically. Then I'll awaken in paralysis yet the visons of my dreams persist despite my eyes being closed, I can "see" that way.
  3. At this point my body knows the tell tale signs of sleep paralysis, I'll feel like my bed has become a magnet or a sweet venus fly trap and I'm the fly. Its comfortable but it's just not right. So without thinking, my body will start to jolt in whatever way it can; toes, fingers, shoulders. It's kind of great that way, but I've recently heard of out of body experience through sleep paralysis and I'm intrigued.
  4. To be honest, I haven't had any sleep paralysis "demons" be truly terrifying. Most are mundane if anything, once inculding a pile of singing socks. Yes you heard me. And another time, one being myself. But the fear I feel is the though of what if something worse is waiting. I never want to stay to long to find out.

I want to know if others experince strange sleep paralysis experinces they cant quite explaine, of if anyone has had the same "dream" thing as I have.

Let me know if you have any questions

Personal License for HRT secured!

I am moving to Wales and well aware of the state of transgender healthcare in the UK. I discovered the Personal License Application on the UK Gov site that describes a way I would be able to take more than 3 months worth of my HRT.

After my initial application was denied due to insignificant reasons/proof, I made a post on here asking for sources to prove my statement of inaccessibility in the UK.

I didn't take that initial no for an answer, I only had to convince this one person that my medication was necessary. So after I sent that second email with more information, I recived the yes I needed!

I'm posting this here because people thought it was a lost cause, and I'm showing you that it isn't. If I can do it, so can you. If you're moving to the UK and are trans, I recommend trying for a Personal License for your HRT.

the section its under is Guidance: Traveling with medicine containing controlled drugs. Exceptional circumstances.
