Aisles Online - Reccomend?

Hi everyone! I currently work at the Starbucks inside of Hyvee and it's really been kicking my ass and I am a bit tired of working in food service - or maybe even looking for some extra hours.

Would you reccomend a job being an online shopper? What are your hours usually like? Do you guys end up having to do jobs that aren't your job - like restocking the store, doing registers, etc? How much do you get paid at your store?

Also, can you be an online shopper if youre under 21? I only ask because I've been our online shoppers in the wine + spirit area so I'm assuming you can order alcohol.

I'm just wondering because if I can get paid to fill carts, do some stocking of that aisles online area, fill up people's cars, and do other like upkeep tasks - that would be pretty awesome in my opinion

Student Email - need it?

Hi everyone! I just got accepted for fall 2027 and was wondering if you use your student email to complete tasks pre-enrollment. I can't log in to my student email, and when I emailed the helpdesk and asked for helo they said I wont be able to get into my student email until I am enrolled in classes and complete a bunch of other enrollment tasks.

To me, that feels like a bad answer because I would assume other pre-enrollment tasks like declaring housing and finalizing your finances would be done pre-enrollment. Will I need to get into my student email sooner than that, or do they reach you about other tasks through your regular email? Asking students who are either currently enrolled or went to UWM in the past

Worth it?

I really want to buy a macbook for a school because I hear that theyre so student friendly - but I don't have a huge budget.

Saw this deal on BackMarket and it seems like a steal. But that also makes me think it might be a computer thats about to go obsolete or something - I don't have too muxh knowledge on laptops!

I don't care about things like scratches or sticker marks on the laptop itself - I'm willing to deal with such minor things if it means I can get a deal. I more mean the processing power (will it be enough to do schoolwork seamlessly) and will it continue getting updates for atleast 2 more years? I tried searching for this all on Google but the results were very confusing. Can anyone just give it to me straight?

Working too much

I work at a Starbucks kiosk inside a grocery store, and so far it has been my easiest job yet. I like the customers, for the most part, and the cleaning/prep tasks are fairly easy. However, what hasn't been busy is that there are only 2 trained closers at the moment. Me, and one of my close friends. So whenever one of us needs off, the other must work, and of we both need off - they schedule an opener or mid person to do the close and the entire store falls apart.

That secondary closer has off this entire week for vacation, not her fault and I'm not mad that shes going. However, because of that, this is what my schedule looks like after having off yesterday.

Saturday 18 : 4 - 730

Sunday 19 : 930 - 430

Monday 20 : 530 - 130

Tuesday 21 : 9 - 4

Wednesday 22 : 4 - 730

Thursday 23: 4 - 730

Friday 24 : 2 - 730

Saturday 25 : 330 - 730

So that is 8 days in a row with no break, and my boss has not acknowledged the fact that she scheduled me 8 days in a row without a single day off. I don't even know if she realizes, because Saturday the 18th and Sunday the 19th are separated onto a different week on the schedule.

It is very likely that for all of the shifts that DON'T end at 7:30, I'll be asked to stay late, anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours. I'm supposed to be part time, but I have worked 32 hours the past 3 weeks and am scheduled 32 hours the week after that - which is considered full time at my store.

I know people are probably going to come on here and say that 8 days back to back is no big deal, especially since 3 of those days are only 3 and a half hour shifts. Still, it feels very unfair because everyone else who works at the kiosk this week has atleast one day off. Those people all have very designated times that they usually work, and I am the one who is working their usual hours while they have off. I feel the need to add that these days they have off are not days that they have asked off, but just days that my manager has not scheduled them (we can see the difference on the calendar).

I am so hurt that everyone else, apparently, deserved time off this next week - but I did not. The only reason I have Sunday the 26th off is because I asked off, and I go right back to work the day after.

Why am I the one who has to fill all of the shifts? I am younger than most of the staff members there, yet I work the most. Make it make sense.

Does anyone have any advice on how to stay sane this next week? I feel like I am one second away from snapping at my manager at all times.

Do you like key lime pie?

Try a white mocha blender with no espresso (could probably be ordered as a white mocha 'shake')

Add Lime Syrup, keep the whip, add graham cracker crumbles on top!!
