Is there no way to contact a real human at kodoo on the phone now?

This dishonest scumbag of a company price hiked me $10 a few months ago I called and they told me they would reduce it to $32 as a part of their loyalty incentive, they did that only for one month, and then every month since they've added a couple more dollars on to the bill, and I'm at the point now where I just want to switch out, I can't even talk to a real human because it's now on chat only?

I'm paying for my number just to get verification codes online... What are alternative companies and how exactly do I get a hold of these deceptive lying turds?

Any books to help me get over being ghosted?

Hey everyone, today is my one year anniversary of the last time I saw a girl who ended up ghosting me.

It sounds stupid but I just can't force my mind to stop thinking of the past, and a part of my mind thinks she'll return, even though deep down my gut says she's never coming back.

I have read so many books since last August, that helped, like a bandage but only temporarily.

Some of the books I read were atomic habits, think and grow rich, letting go, the mountain is you, no more mr. nice guy, the attachment style book, 48 laws of power, meditations, art of war, the power of now, and currently I'm reading psycho cybernetics which is on improving self image.

I will say The Power of Now has been the most helpful book I've read so far, but I'm wondering if there's anything that can help me stop obsessing about someone who threw me away like a worthless piece of trash.

I don't even know if it's normal to think about someone for this long, but I wish I could just get better. Thanks everyone! I appreciate you taking the time to read and any suggestions you may recommend to me, it'll be greatly appreciated.

Is it impossible to get a junior/mid software developer job now?

After applying to 2,000+ jobs in the last 2-3 years I have not been able to get another job in this industry.

So, I started learning programming in 2017, took a two year course, graduated in 2022, got hired at the beginning of the following year, worked for six months as a full stack php developer, I loved the job, I hated the boss. Decided I'd just go get another job in the field, went on EI and continued applying with no luck. The best offer I had was from Shopify as a product specialist, which I turned down due to reading all the negative reviews.

After giving up on this field, I have spent the last several months getting into the healthcare program and hit another roadblock, I'm banned from student loan services for using their RAP program over the years.

I am at a standstill in my life cuz I can't find anything with my business administration diploma, I have carpentry too, but I'm very inexperienced and took the software development course to escape the hard labour..

I guess my main question to you guys, should I continue doing something in IT or what exactly should a 36 year old man do that's introverted for a career this late in life?

Is this 1999 Kodiak 400 that sat for a few years toast?

This was my step dad's, he ran it in 2023. Parked it and it was stored in a tarp shed for 2 years, he passed, then it sat in the weather cuz the tarp shed had to be taken down.

The battery is dead and hooked up to the z turn battery with booster cables. I just got a new spark plug. At first the starter seemed to be stuck, bouncing the wheeler made it seem like it was going to start. Now like you hear in the video this noise, and then I try to use the pull cord and no life at all.

I put some gas inside of the spark plug the other day and it actually sounded like it was going to fire up. I tried again and the engine doesn't even try. It's got fresh gas in it and I haven't looked at the carburetor.

I intended to get it running so I could sell for $1500 cad or so but I don't want to put money in it or screw around cleaning the carb. Should I just sell it as a parts bike for $500 and call it a day or should I take the carb apart and clean it or get a cheap one on Amazon?

Record shows "possible match" and I'm supposed to be starting a healthcare program

This is kind of a confusing ordeal but I'm going to lay out the version of events that took place.

Last August, I decided I wanted to get into healthcare, after having my criminal record affect my life for the last 14 years, I wanted to go through the process of getting a pardon.

I go to RCMP, the admin says I don't have a record, I go back a week later and I have a record this time, I do fingerprints and nothing shows up except for a local RCMP station with a trail from 2018 in which the charges were withdrawn. She was supposed to file something so that the court would remove it.

I do the process of the pardon, have all my papers ready to be sent in. But noticed that the RCMP withdrew a suspended sentence charge from 2015, as it was off my record. I go back to the admin, she does the record check and it came back as negative, this was in December when she gave me the sheet and ensured that if I hand it to employers at least I know I have a clean record. And this is why I did not file my pardon until last week...

Fast forward 6 months, I am accepted into a healthcare course, and have funding for it, but my assignment is I need to give them my record + vulnerability sector (which is negative), but the record shows possible match this time, and the same admin, she took my paper that said negative from me in my pile of papers...

She told me the possible match comes from a town police station and that is because they finally moved onto the same database as the RCMP. Great. This too was a suspended sentence and a 1 year probation.

The admin didn't even know that a record suspension and the pardon are the exact same thing. I had to call the parole board to make sure. She claims the record suspension is a speedy process, and the pardon costs thousands of dollars...

Anyways, the parole board said it takes 6-12 months, in turn, had the admin not made so many errors I would have just filed it back in December. So I sent out my pardon kit, and I am still doing the funding assignment, but I am worried to tell the organization and college about it, as possible match doesn't mean I'm a criminal, but doing an official finger prints will show a trail that quite frankly should not be on there, since I have filed to the court to remove that from the system 6 months ago, and the admin said she'd file it again to try to speed things up... And also now that the town's database syncs up with the RCMP, I think my charges from 14 years ago will show too now.

Work placement won't be until next year, so I have 3 months before my program starts and obviously I need to send back my assignment to the funding place, which she may require me to get fingerprints, which will take 3-4 weeks.

With all that being said, I am wondering should I just give up on getting a job/career in this field, or is their still a chance I can get this cleared and take my program? I'm worried that the college will say yes of course you can start and then as soon as my student loan money releases to them, they want a criminal record check and then boot me out of the program, since healthcare workers aren't usually criminals...

And if the school or employer looks into these charges they will find on paper it looks quite horrible, threat, assault and assault with weapon. But the reality is, I was a child, I pushed a man back that was going to attack me, and threw a piece of a broken skateboard at another guy in the heat of the moment and it skimmed across his back, and a kitty scratch would have inflicted more damage. And then the 2018 withdrawal charge was a threat and this was a family matter, that got thrown out, and the police lied to my family and got them to charge me, and said they could drop it the next day, and when they learned the cop was a complete and outter liar, they personally met with the crown and he dropped them for me. And I'm not trying to dress down the charges. Obviously it's been years, and what I did was wrong and I hope my pardon goes through. I guess I'm just trying to get some insight on my situation from anyone who's been here before.

I really don't want to wait another year since I haven't been able to find a job and I'm running out of money, and I'm running out of hope and the amount of stress and anxiety this entire thing is causing me, I can't even explain how it's making me feel.

Canadian Student Needs to interview 3 MLTs for provincial funding approval (11 quick questions via DM!)

Hey everyone. I am a student in New Brunswick, Canada, trying to get my provincial funding approved to start an MLT program.

For the government paperwork, I have to interview three people currently working in the field. It is just 11 quick questions about your daily routine and workflow, and we can do it right here over DMs.

The only catch is the provincial form requires me to list your name, job title, and employer. It stays 100% confidential on my physical paper form for my caseworker, but I wanted to be up front about that since Reddit is anonymous and I know not everybody is comfortable with this.

If any MLTs are willing to help me check this box so I can get my funding approved, please drop a comment or DM me. Thanks!
