whats your opinion on new newsroom tokyo?
Personally, I was shocked that the new studio was the same as Ohiyo Nippon/News 7/News Watch 9
The new green screen studio is ok but removing the graphics used for segments upset me. Fully switching to the Newsline graphics and sounds was not ok they should have kept the Newsroom Tokyo sounds or weather, etc.
I was hoping the new headlines graphic would look the same/simmilear or at least that they would make some variation of the 2019-2020 one, but no, they minimilised the current one. Anyways, other than that, it is ok.
But it feels like Newsroom Tokyo is becoming too much like Newsline and losing its identity, starting in 2023 and becoming more visible in September 2026. The music also slightly changed for Newsroom Tokyo in the intro and maybe the outro.

Yanaka Marie leaves NHK World and Newsroom Tokyo after 11 years, respectfully
Yanaka Marrie leaves NHK World and Newsroom Tokyo after 11 years and 5 months working for the company, respectfully. She was a great presenter on Newsroom Tokyo will miss her.
I regret not enjoying her at the start, but still she has done a great job for us over the last year. I hope she has a great future wherever it is.
She worked as a Japanese culture and arts anchor for Newsroom Tokyo (2015-2016) and a business anchor for Newsline (2016-2025) biz picks. Worked for Newsroom Tokyo just Mondays and Tuesdays ( 31st March 2025-September 1st 2026).
I watched both the first and final broadcasts live on TV: https://linktr.ee/MarieYanaka

Just found out Shibuya Aki left NHK in april and is now part of Japan today. 2012-2026
Just found out that Shibuya Aki left NHK to join Japan today. Found out after searching her name on Instagram because I was curious. https://www.instagram.com/p/DW581yGk8JT/ (the post); her other accounts https://www.instagram.com/notaboutthebreed/ https://www.instagram.com/oldbabypups/ i did not know she has dogs.
She worked on Tokyo Fashion Express from 2012-2015
Newsroom Tokyo from 2015-2015
NHK Newsline 2025-2026
It's a bit sad that she left, but it's nice that she's still going strong at her new job
I have theorised to myself for quite some time that she was meant to stay on Newsroom Tokyo and the show was meant to extend its runtime, etc. but due to NHK taking advantage of a 30-minute broadcast (rebroadcasting segments in Newsline to reduce costs), or just funding issues. They instead brought News 7, knowing it would be a good decision in the current world; this would also reduce costs for NHK if Newsroom Tokyo went back to old timings because of this. Shibuya moved to Newsline for In Focus, as she had previously presented it for Newsline in Depth and Newsroom Tokyo. When complex things happened, Rina left Newsroom Tokyo and went to International News Report 2026. I believe Aki was meant to come back to Newsroom Tokyo, but something happened inside NHK that made her leave and go to Japan Today.
It makes sense due to her age (49) and that she wants to have more freedom in her life(in my opinion)

Nishiumi Naoko Joins Newsroom tokyo
Nishiumi Naoko joins after being Hong Kong bureau chief from 2022 to 2026. She was also a presenter on Catch Top News Seaki from 2019 to 2022 and worked in the Manila bureau as a New Newsroom Tokyo presenter https://ja.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=%E8%A5%BF%E6%B5%B7%E5%A5%88%E7%A9%82%E5%AD%90&wvprov=sticky-header
I find it interesting that Yamasawa Rina also worked on Catch Top News Seaki from 2014-2018; it's almost like Naoko follows Rina and goes to the shows she has been presenting once Rina has left,

New Casio calculator mock up
Made in Photoshop CS5, upscaled with Grok. It merges the old design layout with the new one, but lets users decide if they want to use the old button layout or the new one. Also, forgot to add, but the navigation buttons are merged with the up and down arrows
