I’m looking at a brand-new Geely Coolray (GCC claimed, full option) from Al Qassim Group / Al Qassem Group in Sharjah/Dubai area. Price is attractive compared to AGMC.

New 2027 Coolray GL at 60k aed

I’ve seen mixed things online their website shows good ratings and they seem active on Dubizzle, but I also came across some complaints about warranty issues, previous owners not being disclosed, and after-sales support not being great.

A few questions for anyone who’s bought from them (especially Geely or Chinese cars):

1. How was the overall buying experience?
2. Did the warranty and service contract actually work when you needed it?
3. Was the car truly brand new / 0 km and properly GCC specs as advertised?
4. Any issues with paperwork, RTA registration, or hidden problems later?

I’m a beginner buyer so I want to be careful. Official AGMC is more expensive, so I’m tempted by the deal, but I’d rather pay more if it means better peace of mind.

Hey all, based in the Dubai and about to buy my first car. Bit of an odd situation, I actually learned to drive on a BMW 520i through Dubai school, so I'm not totally new to handling a car, just new to buying/owning one.

Budget is around AED 40,000, used. Been going back and forth between:

• Mazda CX-5 (SUV)
• Toyota Corolla
• Toyota Yaris
• Toyota Camry
• Nissan Kicks
• Toyota RAV4

Was leaning SUV for space, but at this budget a CX-5 means an older model with higher km, while a Corolla in the same range gets me a newer, lower-mileage car with cheaper parts and better resale.

Questions for the sub:

1. Anyone regret buying a sedan over an SUV (or vice versa) as a first car in UAE?
2. How much does GCC-spec vs non-GCC actually matter in practice when buying used?
3. CX-5 owners how's parts cost/resale really been for you long term vs a Corolla/Camry?
4. For Dubai visa, If I buy from sharjah owner, what are the transfer and other charges

Would appreciate any real ownership experience over spec-sheet comparisons. Thanks!
