With The Power To The People Fest performance, where the Vote For Change 2004 shows recorded?

Wrote this: "Hope he comes to Germany (Hamburg please) next summer during a short European Stadium Tour. I would love to see songs like War, Murder Inc, Ghost of Tom Joad, ... over here.  Agree on the Power To The People performance, SOM has the important words introducing a great acoustic performance, for Chimes of Freedom I also prefer the full band version (like Manchester 2025 live release) but playing it with Joan Baez is more important. Then starting with Clampdown, being backed by Tom Morello and bad, was incredible ("In these days of corrupt presidente"), Tom Joad is always amazing, Fortunate Son, Free World, This Land Is Your Land and Power To The People all sounded great with his voice (and the other amazing guests) and all the full band performances brought so much energy. Really would love to see Bruce play Fortunate Son (and CCR/Fogerty songs more again like Rockin' All Over The World, Travellin' Band, Bad Moon Rising, Proud Mary) as well as Rockin' in the Free World (maybe with Eddie Vedder, who would have been another great guest for PTTP) and This Land Is Your Land with full band. Fantastic festival and Bruce performances." on the PTTP performance by Bruce and all the other fantastic guests. During the Vote For Change shows people like Eddie Vedder, Neil Young and John Fogerty joined on stage for songs like Fortunate Son, Rockin In The Free World, Darkness On The Edge of Town. Love those collaborations and these timeless songs. Would be nice to have a professional recording release for those as well as PTTP.

New Springsteen Interview by Rolling Stone Magazin (new records, setlist changes/sign requests, future tour plans and Land Of Hope And Dreams American Tour Concert Film being released in four parts and why Philly was chosen to be filmed

From a new Rolling Stone interview with today:

Bruce Springsteen tells Rolling Stone he has a couple of new albums on the way. This is what Bruce said about the new albums and touring:

When we spoke last year, you told me you had a new solo album totally finished. What’s your plan for that now?

Well, I’m currently working on a couple of records. I did finish one, and it is done. I’m in the process of working on this other one, which, because of the nature of the material, felt like it should come out first. So that’s the situation I’m in. I’m trying to finish that up, and I’d like to release that first. And then this other record that I made, which is not time-relevant, it can come out at any time and it’ll work.

Is that a solo record or an E Street record?
It’s a surprise. [Laughs.]

Fair enough. Do you know when that will come out, when the surprise will reveal itself?

I do not right now. Hopefully sooner than later, of course.

Do you miss touring? Do you feel the itch to get back out there?

Well, we toured quite a bit, and we toured the previous spring. We toured this spring. And these days that’s what I like to do. I would like to go out and do 20, 30 shows. I don’t imagine a 140-show E Street tour will happen again. It’s just time is too short right now. But I do imagine a good series of simply shorter tours where we touch different places at different times. And the band is playing so well. In my opinion, if you saw this show, you saw one of the best shows we’ve ever done. The band is playing so well that we have a happy life there, and that’ll continue.

There’s a vocal contingent of fans who miss the more freewheeling shows where you took signs and made big changes from night to night. Might you do a tour like that again in the future?

I don’t know. I don’t want to make any promises. I just don’t know what I’m going to do next or what’s going to motivate me to go a certain way. Shows like that might come up, or I might come up with something completely or somewhat different, so I can’t really say.

As far as the concert film from Philadelphia that part one was released this morning, this is what Bruce had to say about it and why it was filmed in Philly and why it's comin out in parts for those who were asking:

Are you releasing the movie in segments now timed to the midterms?

Well, it wasn’t specifically planned to fall into the midterms, but if it does, that’s great. Really, we just had Thom [Zimny] do the first seven songs to see what we had. I didn’t know what the show was like on film. He basically cut, edited, and we got the sound good on the first seven pieces. When I saw it, I said, “This has got to come out now.”

I can’t wait another three, four months for the rest of the concert to be edited and have it finished. The whole thing, the pop-up tour, was about immediacy and being in this moment, providing something that I felt an audience, my audience, could use in this moment.
And so as soon as I saw it, I said, “This comes out now.” Everybody said, “Well, what do we do with the rest?” I said, “Well, we’ll serialize it is what we’ll do.” And basically that’s what we’re going to do. You’ll be getting seven songs or so in four different compartments, and at the end of the day, you’ll have the whole show.
I think it has more impact that way. The first seven songs, to my eye, have a tremendous amount of impact because it’s only 40 minutes. And anybody can spare that 40 minutes to get an idea of what we were trying [to do]. It’s 40 minutes, and it says everything we wanted to say.

The setlist didn’t really change from night to night. Did your experience on Broadway change the way you approached putting a show together?

Nope. It was simply, once we found that setlist, it was not going to be something where I threw in “Darlington County” or something else there. It just wouldn’t have made sense. That setlist was its own novel, for better or for worse. The minute we stumbled on it, with the exception of… I think we added “Clampdown” along the way. But once we found that setlist, we stuck with it the whole way. It was fun because it does get deeper as you go. The Philadelphia show that we were lucky enough to film was just one of the highlights of the tour.

A lot of fans presumed you’d film the big stadium show in D.C. Why did you go with Philadelphia?

Well, we didn’t film D.C. because we wanted to film two nights that could be similar and intercut. So, if I’m correct, we filmed Boston and Philly, and if I’m right, we only use Philly. So that was the reason. D.C. was a one-off and it was a great show outside in that ballpark. We had so many good shows on this tour. And the band was just ripping and roaring at the end, by the time we got towards the end. So when we hit Philly, Philly just exploded. It was wonderful.

Aerosmith Live Future

Do you think there is still a chance that Aerosmith do a final show at Fenway Park as a farewell show? If they ever play live again it would probably a stadium farewell hometown show. Would be cool to see them in Latin America, Europe, (Asia and Oceania) or do the North American arena dates from Peace Out Tour that were cancelled but after Back To The Beginning and the MTV appearances from Steven and the fact Joe Perry is still rocking solo and with Hollywood Vampires it would be a cool farewell event to play all the amazing songs one last time with lots of special guests.
Also what about live performance releases (we have some stuff on DVDs and YT like Mexico City 2016, Rocks Donnington and more but almost nothing on music streaming services, also they did quite a lot of more shows and tours that would be cool to have released. What would be your favorite tours/shows to be released video and audio (Spotify, co.) wise?

Magenta did a pretty good job for the WOA 2026 livestream broadcasts

Just wanted to acknowledge that Magenta did a pretty good job this year for the broadcasts of the live shows from Wacken 2026.
A lot of bands were livestreamed in the first place, Def Leppard and Judas Priest sadly weren't but most other big bands. For DL and JP they uploaded a few songs of the set as Replay (seems its always hard for older legacy bands to get them convinced for broacast, but they gave their best and got a few songs as replay, which is what happened with Maiden in 2023 a few days/weeks after the festival Magenta broacasted 5 songs of the headline set Maiden played, definitely better than nothing after there was no stream, same for GNR in 2025 with 3 songs as replay. Also most shows that were streamed are up as VODs until next year. Europe, Saxon and Airbourne are sadly no uploaded (yet). But still lots of broadcasts and most of them as VODs, even Replays of a few songs from the headliners. Sound is definitely better than the last years (though some concerts sound different to others and sometimes louder and less loud in the same show, but could be because of bands wanting it that way, thats also why it takes some days for some VODs to be uploaded).
But compared to the other years and especially other festivals like RaR or Hurricane, or Hellfest (by Arte Concert) we got a good amount of broadcasts. Drones worked also better (lighting and all that, because last year they were not yet tuned correctly for use and the images from the drones looked way different and bad to regular cameras) this is a step in the right direction, even though I miss the big skycams for the mainstages, but clearly you can get higher with a drone and also use them for the Louder and in general nice media videos.

Do live covers of songs (releasing audio and video as professional recordings)

What permissions do you need if you would perform multiple covers of various artists (mostly rock and metal) live and then film and record the audio and video of the shows professionally. Whether on Youtube (video), Spotify or just another streaming services for audio, maybe even vinyl with also maybe adding different instruments like piano for guitar or else. And how hard/realistic is it to get permissions.
Also what about changing words like for example Metallica Seek & Destory (were scanning the scene in the city tonight) to (scene in CITYNAME [the name where you play live] tonight) (can do that for pretty much every song), does stuff like that already count as changing lyrics and would need an extra permission by the artist themselves?

Wacken Social Media confirms that Iron Maiden WON'T perform at Wacken Open Air 2026

One of their newest TikTok content videos was a really weird one, where a person ranked bands from the WOA 2026 LineUp. Obviously this person has no real idea of the who the bands are, so it is a fun entertaining video. The problem and where it gets weird is that 9 of 10 bands are actual on the lineup. The other one is IM (they said their final european show in 2026 was Eddfest Knebworth and they also played Rock am ring, as well as the fact the mainstages are fully scheduled on all possible slots that would fit Maiden). So there never was a big chance for Maiden to actually play this year but so weird to not just choose all bands from the real lineup or make a "New Intern ranks biggest metal bands that (n)ever played Wacken instead.

Just a frustrating mess now, keep it real or go fully unrealistic for a video like this. Maybe they wanted more Promotional attention for ticket sales. Also with AI shirt designs, the casino thing. Both in 2023 and 2025 I had a good time traveling there and the lineup is good (more smaller bands therefore not so many big acts like at Hellfest, Graspop). What I want to say is that there are valid things to criticize but there are also positive things. But this video thing is weird especially with them saying "we are sorry if this created false hope that Maiden would play in 2026" while literally every other band in video actually does play.

The Last Stand 10th Anniversary Edition releases on September 11th 2026

https://www.sabaton.net/news/music/announcing-the-last-stand-10th-anniversary-edition-out-september-11/

Today Sabaton announced the release of the 10th Anniversary Edition of their Last Stand album. It will include the four bonus tracks covers All Guns Blazing (Judas Priest), Afraid to Shoot Strangers (Iron Maiden) and more. Also the DVD includes songs 8 to 18 from their set at Sabaton Open Air 2016 (Last show with Thobbe Englund before he rejoined in 2024).

I wonder why they don't release the full set with the other songs played before Counterstrike (would be interesting to know if the full set was recorded) and what about the original Last Stand bonus DVD they filmed at their show in Nantes, France in February 2016. Still excited for this nice anniversary gift.

Rock am Ring/Rock im Park Livestream

Finally MagentaMusik is back (the quality with RTL and especially Bild were not good, also you can easily watch most the recordings some hours/days for free on MagentaMusik).
But it is really sad that they do not stream anything from the third stage/Orbit stage and also no performances from Rock im Park, even though Jacob from Papa Roach joined Within Temptation and Dexter from the Offspring joined Electric Callboy, I believe last year Airbourne live debuted their then new single Gutsy at RIP. I think is sad that we miss those moments from the bands that play special collaborations or live debuts at RIP and not RAR as well as missing out on all the great acts on the Orbit stage. Whats your opinon on this?

Finally a professional livestream recording again, will probably be the same for Wacken this year. Setlist for the European Summer 2026 tour is great so far. They even played First Soldier at the festival in France a few days ago. https://www.setlist.fm/stats/sabaton-13d6d1c5.html?tour=5bdafb98

Iron Maiden Run For Your Lives Tour 2026 setlist possible changes confirmed

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TpTjbZfGEw8&t=25s During the premiere of Burning Ambition Bruce said: "Keep your eye on the setlist. As we, start in Athens." when asked about what to expect at Eddfest. With that smile at the end, it makes it look like they might finally play Alexander The Great in Greece. Definitely something in the setlist will change, as there would be no reason to "keep an eye on it" when nothing changes compared to last year.
