Winter places for a Birthday party for a 1 year old…

We are trying to plan ahead and for a one year birthday. There will only be about 10 kids ages 1 to 12 but the family is big so they’ll be around 50 adults. We want to really celebrate the 1 year especially because we don’t all live nearby.
No one has a central house or one that could fit us all. We would go to a park if it wasn’t in December.
The only facility that could accommodate 50 plus people is the children’s museum and they charge $700 plus get deposit and then we still need to get food cake paper good etc.
We were thinking of renting a facility and looking for one that could accommodate a bouncy houses for inside? Any ideas?

How many hours do you need to work to receive benefits?

There is a position that looks really cool but it’s part time. I have a second job so I’m ok if I work part time but I definitely want the medical and retirement etc.
Just curious how many hours a week you need?
Thank you

Cant go to Adams State due to the in state practicum, what online schools can you complete the practicum in your home state?

Hi, I was really excited about getting into Adams State University, but I don't think I will be able to go due to the requirements that you need to go to Colorado. I have only 1 week of vacation time at my job so I will need to complete my hours intermittently in my home state. Does anyone know of a similarly priced CACREP dual program that does not require you to go to their school to complete the practicum? The 2 schools in my state are well over 70k a year the program.

When is a good time to drop off a resume at Dutch Bros in Tumwater?

Hi my son doesn’t have Reddit so he asked me to post this. He submitted a resume online but also wants to go in person. He was wondering when a good time to drop off his resume to the Dutch Bros in Olympia. He knows they get so busy and doesn’t want to bother anyone but also hoping to speak to a manager. He tried to call but it goes to the corporate offices. Thank you 😊

What are some jobs that you are on your feet more?

I currently work in an extremely sedentary job. Its wearing on my body worse than the 20 plus years that I worked in restaurants on my feet. I also get very bored just sitting at my desk doing paperwork etc. Just curious what are some jobs that would give me more activity and less desk work. Thank you

So what are some of the jobs ya'll have that are more active?

Edit: I was looking more for jobs at the state, but not in a correctional facility. I work primarily in a courtroom for the majority of my day, I am unable to use a standing desk or ball etc.

Possible to buy a mobile home on SS?

Hi, I’m trying to help my mom out, she has to move from where she’s living at now. We were thinking the only way she could afford something was to buy a mobile home in a 55 and over Park. She’s on Social Security so financially I don’t think she would qualify for a loan because I’m pretty sure you need to qualify for the park rent and the cost of the home also. But is there any wiggle room with us? Does anyone know a good realtor that works primarily with people in this situation?

RV park living and home internet plan

Hi I’m just wondering what others do that live in RV parks for internet? We’ve been told you can’t have traditional internet because there’s no hard Ethernet connection. So we’ve been using Starlink and it’s so expensive…Any other ideas?

Has any Mental Health Counselors transitioned to a school counselor in WA state? Wondering what that process is like?

I'm kind of thinking I should just go to school for LMHC because it seems that it might be too hard to get a job as a school counselor. I want to keep the door open but since I'm almost 50 I dont want to do a dual program.

School counseling in Washington state can get be a LMHC without more schooling?

Someone told me this and I’m wondering if it’s true? I’ve heard that the license requirements are the same that you would just need to do the 3000 hours of supervision? I googled it and hard to understand so I guess I’m just curious if anyone has actually done this?

I am struggling with finding a career path...

I am 48F, I had kids right out of high school and ended up just working in restaurants/bars while they were younger. I got a Bachelors degree in Psychology and a minor in Criminal Justice. I did not have the ability at the time to pursue a a job in this degree. In the past few years, since they became adults I have been able to pursue a few jobs. I know I love working with people, primarily with kids. I do know what's important to me is having time to spend with my family and work/life balance. My kids are adults now but I'm very close to them and have a new grandbaby. It is important that I get to spend time with them on vacations and during the week since I missed so much time with them while they were growing up. I have wanted to be a school counselor but now I feel like I'm so old that I've wasted so much time and the degree is 3 years long. I also worry that I wont get a job upon graduation, which would be a waste. Does anyone have an idea for other jobs I may be missing?

Last minute flights for death of a family member

I know that you can get bereavement flights, with a death certificate but I can’t wait for that. My sister lost her baby last night after it was born and this devastating for her due to her fertility issues… She now has children, but it is very hard on her.
What is the best way to get a flight the day of that’s not $1000?

How did people that got dual degrees do all their supervisors hours?

Hi, I’m planning on getting my dual degree and I’m just curious how everyone is able to complete their hours within the timeframe we have. Is it difficult?

Has anyone regretted getting your degree and quitting your job because you couldn’t find a a school Counseling job?

Hi I’ve always wanted to get my masters in school counseling. I have my bachelors in psychology and criminal justice. I work a government job but feel very unfulfilled. I got in to Adam’s State in January. But I’m worried that I may quit my job and then spend all this money and time on my education and then either can’t get a job as a counselor or I don’t like it as much as I thought?
Can anyone offer insight? Did anyone have these feelings before you went back to school?

Can someone explain the pay scale?

I know it’s going to vary from country and school to school but for example I think in my district the pay starts out at 60k with an MA. Do you then go up an amount every year after that? I’m in Western WA if that helps. I’m supposed to be starting school in January and trying to figure out if I should go or continue with my state job. I’m almost 50 and always wanted to be a counselor but I know my income goes up every year here also, but not much.
But I’m more concerned about quitting and not being able to get a job in my field due to high demands and not having experience. Any thoughts?

Is Deferred Comp not necessary if you don't make much?

I'm 50 and just recently got a job with a pension. Previous to this I did not have any money saved for retirement. I recently opened up a Roth on my fidelity app (which I am learning about) and an individual account on it as well. I do not have a 401k. I put a couple hundred into my deferred comp 457 plan. And a couple hundred into my individual and going to max my Roth. Someone recently told me that there is no point putting money into my deferred comp unless I make a significant amount of money. I make about 60k a year. What does everyone think? Should I put all the money into my individual account on my fidelity account? Any other suggestions?
