Club Med Cancun in Dec w Toddler

Hello all,

looking for some tips and have some general questions, first time to CM Cancun.

Dec - are we safe from seaweed on the beach?

Is it windy on the balcony if we live oceanfront in the aguamarina buildings?

Can we book activities and restaurant before arriving on the app?

Are there any indoor play area for toddlers if we are NOT enrolled in the mini club? (as we don’t require daycare services)

the transport options give seems a bit expensive, is it worth it or can we just book taxi/other private transport services?

is it easy to get to some safe/touristy areas outside of resort?

can we bring our own pool floats?

mosquitos/other bugs an issue at all being oceanfront?

thank you all!

Anyone else have a MJAOR migraine just researching these resorts?

I see we have lists on this subreddit and I have read through many of the previous posts. I have narrowed it down to places like Paradisus PDC or Grand Moon…

But even though there are so many highly recommended posts, you can also find plenty of red flag reviews, “washroom don’t work”.. “long queues”… “no beach chairs” etc etc

like are these “highly recommended” comments on reddit for places like Paradisus are all bots? I am so confused

Why are some buildings in downtown have such poor cellphone (Rogers!) reception?

I could never figure it out, I’m not in a basement either… yes I know I am in a big building and not by the window, but I’m talking like downtown queen west/liberty village, and with Rogers 😒

What’s one thing about Toronto that has gotten BETTER in the past decade or so? (maybe something more specific about Toronto)

Okay yes we always hear the overall sentiment that “things are not as they used to be” in a negative direction. I’ve lived in Toronto for 25 years and yes, traffic’s gotten worse, clubbing/raves crowds are worse, public transit is less appealing and more homeless people are on the streets yada yada yada….

But what’s something that you feel has gotten better? Maybe more specific to Toronto?

I feel that our multi cultural food scene has surpassed a lot of other major cities like NYC even though globalization is everywhere. Sure our fine dining is lacking compared to US/Asia/Europe, but the authenticity is there.

Congrats my Spanish friends! We are visiting in a few days, what is the best place for tourists to catch the football fever on July 14?

We want to watch the game while visiting for the first time.

What is the best place for us two tourists? A bar? A public square (will it show anywhere)? Where is the game showing?

Can I rent a scooter or not? Mixed messages from my research online…

I have a IDP for motor vehicles, which I had for 10+ years.

I asked a scooter rental company and they said that’s not sufficient for scooters in ibiza, not even the 50cc

but it is not what I read online. so what’s the law?

Operating a boat and alcohol?

First of all, I absolutely agree that drunken rowdy tourists should be punished for their disrespectful behaviour.

But if I were to rent a boat and anchor at the islands and beaches north of Formentera, can I not enjoy a glass of wine? If I am respectful and not act recklessly, are they really gonna come ask why I packed alcohol in my boat? I guess what I am asking is how enforced are these rules?

What kind license is required for boat rental without skipper?

Anyone had experience with motor boats with 15+ hp? I have a recreational pleasure craft operator license from Canada, will that do?

Also what’s the rough cost of fuel for a day for something like 120HP motor boat from ibiza town to formentera and back?

Thank you!

Is renting a car wise?

Hello friends!

Looking at options on traveling between hotels outside of Eivissa, Sant Antoni and clubs, seems like taxi can be expensive and public transport not reliable.

Is it easy to find free or affordable parking near the beaches or towns or clubs like Ushuaïa?

Is it easy to drive around if it’s a compact car?

Are there alternatives like electric bikes?

Thank you!

Anyone else loving the new law banning resale of tickets above face value?

I got emails this week to reconfirm my waitlist for Leafs season tickets.. could be wrong but I can’t remember getting an email about this once in 10 years…

perhaps the building will finally be filled with fans and not a spot to conduct business meetings (save that shit for the corporate boxes)
