Who’s the best Inquisitor, and why is it Ostromandeus?

Recently picked up the Ostromandeus models as a Sisters Ally and I’m wondering, even though he’s “legends”, he seems to have one of the best datasheets out of the inquisitors - unless I’m missing something?

7 wound character unit with a 4+ FNP, a 5+ INV on Ostro himself, ability to join just about every unit there is AND a super cheap embarkee for a Chimera, Vect, -1 H/W on Psychics, Cover stripping Battleshock which will be invaluable in 11th. Basically an auto include if your opponent or tourney allows legends, right?

Penitent Armiger Helverin #1 WIP

> War Dog Body
> Battle Sisters Simulacrum
> Engines of Redemption Anchorite Sarcophagus (you can strip these from the mortifier kit and still build the Mortifiers completely)

To add the sarcophagus, I left the cables on the back of the mount, but I glued them to one of the flat war dog faces, and then parked that face in the curved mount where the head usually goes. A bit of liquid gap filler will fix that up quite easily. Thoughts?

Intranzia in Action

Found some old second hand Repentia and Arcos (pre-primed by the owner) and stuck them on the base to give a more dynamic feel to our new lady.

Goofy 1000 point list - thoughts?

“You’ve Got A Friend In Me” (1000 Points) (Champions of Faith)

This list was based around including a bunch of hard-to-shift allies.

Just having a goofy ol’ time pre-11th. Thoughts?

Kitbashed and/or second hand, I love that though this is a model with the same namesake, it almost never has to look the same. Very refreshing for a Necrons main.

Show your superiors below!

So I kinda built the model, primed it, sat it on a shelf for 3 months while I started a whole other army (oops).

I’ve just come back to it. I used a makeup brush with white scar just to show me raised surfaces I’ll be working with on the body.

The ghouls, so far, are a base of white scar, 2 coats of Army Painter Plasmatic Bolt Speedpaint, and a small coat of nuln oil.

Where would you go from here? Colours? Blends? Highlights for ghouls? Get creative!

I got this fella on marketplace as an ally for my Sisters of Battle. He was cheap, finished, unmagnetised and advertised as a Knight Errant. He has no top-mount weapons.

  1. Is this a good ally for sisters? Is there a better knight to use?
  2. Say this is the start of my Imperial Knights army - where should I go from here?

Context;

- This game was played only on what has been revealed or reliably implied thus far from Adeptacon and Warhammer Community articles. The remainder of rules were 10th.

- Both armies used single detachments (Army of Faith, Hearthband) and their ‘assumed’ dispositions were Disruption & Take and Hold (Death Trap vs Determined Acquisition) as that is the only mission pairing revealed at this time.

- Incursion Game Size (1000 points)

- Intranzia was just an armiger on a 60mm base to match for height.

What was learned;

- This will be the edition, not of combat, but of movement. Yes the shooting does start earlier for your frontline units , but proper placement is key. You can’t dawdle in your deployment zone for long before a large vehicle comes barrelling over the horizon on turn 2. A Hekaton in this case lol.

- Playing your independent primary actually feels fun. Death Trap was a blast, though it will definitely lend itself to an MSU style of army.

- Cover being -1, very simple. What type of terrain counts as obscuring or LOS blocking? Easy to lose track or get confused by. Recommend a printout of your battle map at the ready or easily discernible light terrain and heavy terrain.

- Secondaries keep the game moving and make it quite intensive too. Planning who is performing Booby Traps, who is performing the kills on trapped objectives, who’s running around to Establish Locus. It’s very involved. Which gets me as a player more involved. So even though I was tabled by bottom of turn 3, I didn’t feel downtrodden at all.

- Intranzia is great, does her job well. Her + Paragons are great fun. The problem (and we’ve all been saying it) - no lone op or leadership quality. If she had that she’d of felt fearsome, but unfortunately she was sniped out by a Hekaton on round 2 lol.

- Bigger objectives - bigger fights to hold them. Your OC is going to matter big time this edition. It probably won’t be uncommon to place 2-3 units on the middle NML objective just to fight off Tyranid chaff or Necrons with Command Barges, or Sacresants with a Dogmata in Champions lol.

- This was a weird one, but: the Terrain article showed a mortifier wholly within a Terrain objective. So we treated that as “vehicles on bases = terrain area compatible”, whereas unbased vehicles like tanks and transports could only touch for OC. I’m unsure how far this will extend. Does that mean Knights on bases like Questoris variants and Armigers can enter? Will walkers/super heavy’s/mounted/titanic/towering all have different rules? Remains to be seen. If you can sit a super heavy 10OC Knight Paladin in the midboard or a Tau Supremacy Suit - could cause problems. 🤷🏻‍♂️

- No stratagem stacking felt fine tbh. Just meant you took 10 extra seconds before landing on a choice that phase.

Overall, simpler, more fun. Hopefully the full manual keeps that vibe going. Thanks for reading 🫡
