Ysk The protective film on TV's, laptops, etc is meant to be removed.

YSK: The protective film on new TV's, laptops, and other screens is only meant to protect the screen during shipping and is meant to be removed.

Why YSK: many people out there leave the film on thinking it will help keep their screen from scratches and looking newer longer, but it can actually harm to screen. Modern TV's and screens generate a lot of heat. Leaving the film on traps the heat against the screen and will eventually cause screen discoloration as well as can burnout the interior led/old/led panel behind the screen.

Additionally the heat can eventually cause adhesive bonding where the film eventually becomes melted into the screen and becomes nearly impossible to remove without causing damage.

In addition, the film will reduce picture quality, and cause the TV/screen to look hazy or blurry, especially when viewed at an angle. By leaving the film on, you won't experience the full picture quality your screen is designed for.

In conclusion, it's a mistake to think you are protecting it and prolonging the life of your new screen by leaving the film on. It is harmful to your device and will lead to higher costs for you as you will have to replace your devices more often. Remove that film!

Amazon changed pricing and rebranded without notice.

I was paying $2.99 a month extra for ad-free on my Amazon prime subscriptions. I noticed i got charged $4.99 this month.

Apparently without sending any notice about plan changes, they rebranded Amazon Prime ad free. As Amazon Prime Video Ultra and upped the price by $2.

There are only 3 differences, and one is totally BS. Apparently they took away 4k/UHD and Dolby Atmos away from basic Amazon Prime which was always free, and have made 4k/UHD exclusive to only those paying for Prime Video Ultra now.

The 2nd and 3rd differences are things nobody even asked for. First they changed it from 3 concurrent streams allowed to 5, and from 25 downloads to 100 per month.

If they want to change plans features and prices, that is fine, but I believe they are legally required to send a notification to subscribers about pricing changes before they take affect, and I never got any email notifications about the rebranding and price change. I only noticed because I check my bank account frequently and noticed I had a higher charge this month.

And although Rufus says that there's no price change to basic Amazon Prime subscribers, they are now getting less for the same price. I wonder how many basic subscribers even know they just lost 4k/UHD and Dolby Atmos which was originally part of Basic. The plan changes was implemented April 10th, and the Price change and rebranding happened with Mays payments.

How does everyone feel about these unmasked for changes? Personally I just see it as a money grab when the economy is already rough.

Amazon Prime Video price change and rebranding with no notice?

I was paying $2.99 a month extra for ad-free on my Amazon prime subscriptions. I noticed i got charged $4.99 this month.

Also while they say the good news is there is no price change to the Basic Amazon Prime pricing, basic Amazon Prime customers are now getting less for their money since they no longer have access to 4k/UHD and Dolby Atmos. I wonder how many basic only subscribers even know they lost those features. (Became effective April 10th.), with price changes that started this Month in May.

I question the integrity of Gmail, and whether emails I delete truly get deleted. I experience this glitch that seems to happen 2 to 3 times a month and just happened again today.

I'll clean up my inbox and delete emails, then immediately go to trash and select delete all/empty trash. Should be good right? However sometimes like today, I'll check back 15 min to an hour later, and all the emails I deleted are right back in my inbox.

They aren't ghost emails either. I can open and read them as normal and the links in them still work, and I have to go through the process of deleting them all over again.

It's more annoying then anything because I get up to 200ish emails a day, so it takes up valuable time having to delete them all over a second time.

What causes this to happen? It has me concerned deleted emails are saved in a database somewhere and a glitch causes them to get restored after deletion from some backup server or something. I've been experiencing this issue several times a month for over a year and have never had this issue with other email services like yahoo or Hotmail.

And before anyone says it, no, I'm not accidentally clicking restore all. When I delete my trash folder it says trash is empty, and they aren't back in my inbox right away, its always around 15 minutes to an hour after I've deleted them.

I was taking the lightrail to 16th, and noticed tons of cops between 8th and capital and 8th and O, with tons of cops cars and some streets blocked off. Is their a parade or important guest expected today?

The photo is a secondary issue. I got to 16th planning to go to safeway for some Starbucks, and noticed the whole shopping area is practically dead. Even shake shack was empty and it always has lines of people. Then I noticed an entire gathering of law enforcement in the cove area across from shake shack. Looked like a mix of CHP and Sacpd. I counted 14 officers trying to casually walk by and snap the photo 🤣. Looked like they were having some sort of meeting as one of them was talking to the group. I was like no wonder the shopping center is dead 😆

So a felon on probation was picked up for brandishing a knife that was caught on camera going to various homes in the Arden area of Sacramento, brandishing a knife and making stabbing motions at the doors after knocking on multiple residents homes. However after getting picked up by police, they decided to release him because probation declined to place a hold on him, so he is back on the street.

What is sacramento PD coming too? Even if probation refused to place a hold on him, they could've held this man and charged him with brandishing a weapon in public and threats for making stabbing motions at the doors. He should've been charged with a new crime if probation didn't want to deal with him, which they should have because its against the rules of both probation and parole for convicted felons to carry a weapon such as a knife, bow, gun, etc. Why did probation even refuse to place a hold on this man? Anyways here is a link to the news article with the man's photo, so if you see him steer clear as he is a danger to the public.
