Magnetic openGrid and a new cam for Command Strip Mounting!
I created a openGrid connector for use with magnets and the Multiconnect post for expanding cam models.

Review how to use the settings in the generator
I redid the laundry room and used openGrid, multiconnect, and underware to straighten up all the tech.
Trying to organize my disaster of a garage with 3D printing my tool holders!
Hey r/OpenGrid,
Random one today — no video to share, just picking your brains.
I recently hit the first tier of YouTube's Partner Program and set up channel memberships on Distracted Dragon Makes. Thank you to everyone who has subscribed to support the channel. It means the world to me.
Before I just throw random stuff behind it, I wanted to actually ask what would be worth making instead of guessing.
A few options I'm kicking around:
Also curious — is there anything OpenGrid-specific you wish existed that hasn't been made yet? Genuinely asking for both the membership stuff and just general content direction.
Not trying to sell anything here, just want to build the right thing instead of guessing. Appreciate any input.
I'm doing cleat wall hangers for my garage cleanout. I'd love any feedback on pieces you'd find useful in your shop.
I'm working on organizing the disaster that should be my wood working area and thought it would be awesome to use openGrid, but most of the walls are french cleats sooooo, I decided to model up an adapter to hang openGrid boards so I can use all the tool holders. I think they came out pretty well.

Here is the part 1 of the cyberpunk storage video that I spoke about int he install video. Part 2 will have the full enclosure. Part 3 will be a couple fun additions to really upscale the project! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6qdkcbfEqwY
So this one had a couple issues (math is hard) but the finished product is great. On to the cyberpunk shelf build!!!!
Searched Amazon for a nightstand organizer and everything was either too simple or crammed with features I didn't need. So I designed one in Fusion 360 built around exactly what I actually use — phone, remote, glasses, and a tissue box.
The 3D printed base uses embedded magnets to hold everything modular so the pieces snap together but can be rearranged. I stopped the prints mid-way to drop the magnets in before the layers closed over them. Cut the tissue box from walnut plywood on my xTool and etched a heron design into it, then finished everything with Danish oil.
Ended up being one of my favorite builds. Happy to answer any questions about the design or the magnet embed process.
Hey,
I am working on a step by step installation video for openGrid. I'm planning on using the command strip option for this project so I can demonstrate how to do it and test it out to see how it holds up over time. What questions do you have that you would like to see answered? Do you want to see the build or all the steps in the CAD process, models used etc.? I want this to be comprehensive so you can walk through it and do the same in your space.
Thanks for any and all feedback!
Black Jack Duck and I sat down and walked through the multiconnect generator and I think you'll find this useful and fun.

If you are using multiconnect this is the one stop shop to get all your questions answered.
