hello everyone! we are planning our baby shower for the end of september/start of october. my husband wants to be there (and i want him there too!), and we'd both like both our mom and dad. therefore, we will be doing a jack & jill shower, which obviously increases the amount of people on our guest list.

my family & close family friends list is quite large, so on our side, we have 30 people. on my husband's side, it will be 22 people. so in total, our guest list is 52 people.

we do not see everyone coming, as some of these folks did not even attend our wedding, and there are a couple of them that live out of town, so realistically, we are probably looking at 46 people.

this is our first child, and on my side of the family, it is the first baby of my generation (as in, none of my cousins have kids, so my aunts are very excited etc etc).

we understand this will likely be a bit costly, but that aside, is this too many people for a baby shower? my mom thinks my MIL is inviting too many people that we don't see often but i don't find it fair that we are 30 and my MIL is 22... my argument is that A) more gifts for us and B) they may not even come (a couple of them didn't come to our wedding, as stated earlier). i get we don't see them often, but i do want to make sure both my mom and my MIL have an equal chance of inviting who they'd like. and honestly, on my & hubby's end, we are quite neutral on who is coming and don't mind, as long as everyone is happy.

tl;dr: is 46-52 people too many for a first-time parent jack & jill baby shower?!

for context, im a teacher. i have an offer for next year, but i figured id apply and see if im still entitled, because it asks you if you have an offer. i figured eh why not, worst thing they say im not entitled.

i then found out i wasnt entitled. ok sure no problem! what i expected.

however now i have received a summons for a group meeting to show how ive been looking for a job, and it says if i dont go, i wont receive my benefits.... the one im not entitled to???

theresa number to call to say i cant make that date specifically, but can i just tell them i already said in my application that i have an offer, and no longer need the benefits? ive gotten EI a few times and never received this letter.

i tried to call but its closed so i have to wait till tomorrow, but im nervous now. am i in trouble or something? i want to be able to sleep tonight 😅

i got a dns error on my phone today, and have been going crazy trying to figure it out, not remembering i swapped to adguard (presumably years ago, lol). when i finally figured it out, i saw i had "dns.adguard.com" inputted. to go check them out, considering i dont remember anything about it at all, i looked at their website. i havent been paying anything, but the free one is only 300k requests per month, and surely ive surpassed that at least once or twice in the past 5 years???

anyway, now its not working. i see one other post with this issue but with a different domain. should i be swapping the domain, is their dns not working atm, or have i likely passed the 300k requests???

sorry if this is a nooby question, as i say, i hardly even remember putting this in haha. ive enjoyed no ads and i dont want to go back!

so i have an 11f spayed tortie that weighs around 12lbs. vet said shes not too worried bc she can feel her ribs, kitty is breathing fine, can still jump, and clean herself, and weight is stagnant. vet said it would be beneficial to lose a pound or two, though, bc of possible upcoming arthritis in older age.

for the past ... MANY years, we've been giving her less food and encouraging play, but she is a lazy bean! we defs arent overfeeding, so imo its an exercise issue, ig.

something tho that idk is worth bringing up with the vet: 1) her primordial pouch is pretty... swingy lol. idk if she loses weight, does she lose weight in the pouch too? bc afaik, its not the same fat as the rest of the body. 2) she is a bigger cat in general, even if she lost 1-2 lbs shes large in general. and 3) she was the only kitten in her "litter". no siblings. therefore... more room to grow in womb?

is it worth to bring these up with the vet?

hello everyone!

in my home, our bathroom does not have a vent due to the previous renovations done in there. for some reason, the perwon who did it covered the fan or something... whatever the case, we have no fan/vent.

on the bottom of our shower where the caulking meets the tiles, mold grows. obviously due to humidity. we clean it, and after each shower, we open the window and hang the curtains up to allow as much air flow as possible. this seems to have helped and the mold grows at a much slower pace now.

however in the winter, it gets to -25c and sometimes the window is frozen shut so air circulation isnt possible. and now with summer coming, i worry that opening the window will just let in too much humidity as it can get very humid here.

its a small bathroom so plugging in and leaving in a dehumidifier is not an option sadly.

is there anything else we can do, that wouldnt be too costly?

its been a hooooot minute since ive played the OG 2002. recently, i got a vita for the hubby and put some r&c on there. he started playing but when he saves, it brings him back to the start of the planet.

my original copy is MIA, so i cant check on our ps2 for myself, but was it always like this? i swear you could just save, and reload in the exact same spot you saved in. am i wrong, or is it a change for the portable version?
