Recommendations for “no-brainer” dashcams?

My parents are both in their seventies, but are still driving (a single car) out of necessity. They live in a medium-sized city in the LA area, but hardly ever go far (almost always for shopping and church or visiting nearby relatives).

So I’ve gotten concerned about what could happen as they drive, and I’m really hoping to get them a dashcam. So here’s my question: are there dashcams out there that require practically no intervention? Like the driver gets in, turns on the ignition, and the dashcam starts recording; and when they get to their destination, the driver turns off the ignition, and the dashcam stops recording. If an incident happens, all they would need to do is pull out the SD card.

Preferably, I would like the installation to be doable non-professionally (my brother and I are fairly tech-savvy and would most likely be able to come over and install the dashcam). And of course, the less expensive (but without compromising our wants), the better. Both front and rear would be ideal, but I think I would be okay with just the front.

Any recommendations (and links) would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Relatively uninformed here: which main roster wrestlers have been “busted down” to NXT, and which ones have managed to get back on the main roster (and which ones have been let go)?

I know Nattie is currently at this stage, Grayson Waller just got started, and Shotzi went through it before being released.

Anyone remember any others who were sent to NXT, and ones who may have done well enough to return to the main roster?

Of course, I would exclude some “guest appearances,” like homecomings or “I won titles in RAW/SD and I want to challenge one of the current title holders in NXT just to add one more title to my record.” Rather, I would like to hear about wrestlers who had a full-on run/storyline in NXT. Were there any others? Finn Balor got “demoted” to NXT sometime before, right? (Confession: I didn’t start watching NXT until it came to the CW).

Karan Ashley to appear on “99 to Beat”

Posted by Catherine Sutherland on her FB stories.

“99 to Beat” is a game show on Fox that starts out with 100 competitors playing simple but tricky challenges (e.g. “pack this collapsible tent into this suitcase”). Each challenge, the last one to complete the challenge is eliminated, until one competitor is left.

What makes this extra special is that Karan Ashley is actually the second Yellow Power Ranger to compete in the show; Ciara Hanna competed in the inaugural season last year, and actually made it very far, into around fourth place.

What it’s like to be a fan from the first generation.

In honor of the nth time an old classmate/friend has messaged me: “tell me about these Demon Hunters that my son/daughter has been obsessed with lately.”

Which acts are 4th Generation and which are 5th?

Hi all! Fan since the 1st Generation here. While IMO the divide between 1st Generation and 2nd Generation K-Pop is fairly obvious, and the divide between 2nd Generation and 3rd Generation, while less obvious nonetheless exists, the fact that I’ve felt that the boundary lines between 3rd and 4th are even more blurry (I have held on to the belief, for example, that groups like I-dle and ITZY aren’t so much “4th generation” as they are “late 3rd,” and that companies and fans tend to be hasty in labeling their new groups as the first of the next generation to make them stand out) means that in recent years, I’ve largely ignored the distinction and transition between 4th and 5th gen, and they’re all one big nebulous mass to me.

So, largely putting aside my notions that a) there’s no firm “debut date” line between generations (“if you debuted before this date, you’re this generation, if you debuted after this date, you’re that generation”) and b) a group of the same gender and the same company debuting after a group of a certain generation doesn’t make them the next generation (e.g., TVXQ, SuJu and SHINee are all 2nd Gen), I’m turning to one more way of distinguishing between “generations,” which is:

While there are always going to be acts for which their “generation” will be debatable, there are also acts for whom their generation is widely agreed upon. No-one is going to dispute that HOT is a first generation idol group, that 2NE1 is 2nd generation, or that Twice is third, for example.

So given the groups that are currently active, which ones are definitely in the 4th generation for you? Which are definitely 5th generation? Which ones are debatable, and what criteria do you use to distinguish them? Thanks in advance!

Highlights of my old Super Soaker collection.

u/zaxzone invited me over from the r/nostalgia sub to check this sub out. Here's an image I would have posted there if they allowed images in comments.

Through about 2014, I became an avid collector of Super Soaker (and water warfare toys in general), an offshoot of my also pretty large Nerf collection. In recent years, though, I've had to downsize my storage, which led to me selling off nearly all of my Nerf and Super Soaker collections. I decided to keep one: The Super Soaker CPS2000 Mark 1, the middle one in that pic. I remember buying it on ebay for a little over $100; the pictures the seller took were angled such that it was hard to tell whether it was a Mark 1 or a Mark 2 (the most visible difference is the power gauge), and when I asked him, he said he had already packed it up and would be unable to tell, so I decided to take a gamble--I was either spending $100+ on a Mark 2 that was already worth about that much, or a Mark 1 that was worth more (and packed more power). Fortunately, I lucked out with a Mark 1 that held its pressure and worked.

So this was a pic I took at about that time (the strap was replaced), alongside a vintage SS50 and a (then) more current Switch Shot to show the "evolution" of Super Soakers over time.
