“Dad, there was 10 secs left on the clock, why did Chris Bosh pass the ball to Ray instead of an open Lebron?” “Son, Bron had 2 turnovers in the last 39 secs & just bricked the shot, Bosh knew that Bron is not to be trusted in big moments.”
The myth that Lebron didn't have help in Cleveland is textbook gaslighting.
2009 Cavs won 66 games and lost as the favorites to ORL without their starting PG. Same ORL team Kobe would walk thru. 2010 Cavs won 61 games and lost as the favorites to BOS. EVERYONE picked Cleveland to win.
Combat Value Score invented by Still_8/24Mambalytics
"I’ve been working on a new metric I call Combat Value Score (CVS).
It filters out the noise of different eras to measure exactly how much a player carried during a title run.
A player may have won, but how much did he carry and who did he beat? 🤔
The Formula Logic:
• Weighted Box Score (WBS) for Pts, Reb, and Ast. Pts are normalized for Pace while Reb and Ast get a versatility bonus depending on position. PG/SG get a 1.5x multiplier for Reb. SF/PF/C get 1.5x for Ast.
• Clutch Variable (CV): Average Clutch Points Per Game (ACPG) using NBA definition of clutch for games that qualify in those situations. (4th/OT, 5:00 remaining, -5/+5 margin). Tier reward system.
• Teammate Quality Tax (TT): Not all teammates are equal. I used a HOF filter (60% odds or higher) and All-NBA, All-Def, All Star accolades for that particular year adjusted w age. I used the highest tax for a given player. Tier system as well.
• Strength of Competition (SC): A player’s score is multiplied by the strength of teams he beat. Beating a 65-win juggernaut is worth more than beating a 42-win team.
Here’s my initial graphic. The criteria is a full 82 game season + at least one FMVP anytime during career. I’ll be creating a follow up graphic for shortened seasons: 1999, 2012, 2020, and 2021.
Graphic is color coded:
Example: Jordan ⭕️, Curry 🟦.
Feedback is welcomed and encouraged."

If Jordan didn't retire in his prime to play baseball he had a chance to win 8 rings and 7 MVPs.
Even though he left a lot on the table, no one has been able to catch him.
