What the hell were they thinking?

What are some special edition book designs where you ask yourself, what the hell design team were thinking when designing it?

Especially if it was a design you were really excited to see but upon reveal you hated it.

Bookish Box U.K.

Does anybody know why Bookish Box don’t deliver to the U.K.? I’m assuming they used to at one point and then stopped or did they never deliver to the U.K.?

Better off waiting for overstock

Which book boxes/companies do you think it’s better to wait for overstock rather than preordering? Whether it be due to lengthy delays or sets getting discounted etc…

Jonathan Strange Dust Jacket Resolution

I’ve just received my copy of Johnathan Strange, I absolutely love it but does anyone feel like the dust jacket art has printed a bit too fuzzy?

The typography looks really crisp but in comparison the bird in Wylie Beckert’s illustration looks like it’s lacking a little bit of clarity.

I’m not really noticing it when people have posted pictures of their copies online but in person I can see it.

Maybe it’s an intentional stylistic choice which is understandable but I just feel like the print resolution looks a little off?

Which ‘Dearly Beloathed’ duology does it for you?

Which book box do you think did the ‘Dearly Beloathed’ duology the best? Obviously second books are mockups. Curious to see people’s opinions now that they can get an idea of the duologies together. I have to say I’m loving the bloodied dress on IC’s TETOLYE.

Lisa Eldridge different lipstick formulations

Firstly, I’ll say I love Lisa Eldridge and her brand, her knowledge passion and nuanced shades are amazing!

However, does anyone else feel like her other lipstick ranges(true velvet, luxuriously lucent, insanely saturated) are being a little neglected in lieu of the rouge experience line?

I especially feel this way about the insanely saturated formula, it’s my absolute favourite lipstick formulation by the brand and I wish we had more shades.

Including printer details with announcements

Would you like it if specific printers or the country that an edition is going to be printed in is included with reveals/announcement details?

I say this as some people may have a preference for particular binding styles etc… Also, someone may be more inclined to purchase an edition if it’s from a printer that they’ve already liked an edition from.

This is regarding any book box. Curious to hear thoughts?

Who wants printers included in announcements?

Would you like it if TBB starts to include either the printer or country that an edition is going to be printed in upon reveal?

I say this as this may have an influence on people’s choice to purchase. If they already have an edition from a certain printer that they enjoy they may be more inclined to purchase another edition from them.

Just interested to hear thoughts on this?

Golden Son Publisher Deluxe?

When do we estimate we’ll get the Golden Son Deluxe edition to continue on this set? Do we think it’ll be coming this year at all?

Sci-Fi sub extended sign up window

I’ve just received a second invite to the sci-fi sub for the protectorate trilogy. The original sign up window deadline was 17th July, but now has been extended to the 24th. Does anyone know why they might’ve extended the window?

Which cosmetic element of SE books do you prioritise the most?

This is purely a question of cosmetic components not quality/exclusivity related elements. This is why binding, annotations, signatures etc are not included in this poll.

Purely about which aesthetic element makes or breaks an edition for you the most? Obviously the book as a whole matters, but I have found that weak typography is often the deciding factor in my decision to purchase a book even if I like the rest of it.

History of BFDC and Imagine Books

Can anyone actually clarify for me what is actually the relationship between Books for Days Crate and Imagine Books?

Do they still work together, are they planning on completely segregating themselves from one another in the future?

Vote for which WOLH set you like the best!

I know we’ve had a post of all the War of Lost Hearts editions. I’ve been looking through the comments to see which set was liked/received the best but it’s difficult to figure out.

I wanted to get a clearer idea of which set was the most loved, hence the poll.

I thought it was great how different they all looked but personally Moonlight was my favourite.

Owlcrate WOLH Endpaper Cohesion

No shade to the artists at all, I think they’ve both done a brilliant job. But does anyone else find the two very different art styles utilised for the endpapers a little bit jarring?

Dior Conceal and Correct 2WO shade matches

I’m thinking that I want to try out a different formula of concealer. The Dior is great under my eyes but anywhere else I feel like it’s somehow thick/moussy but it disappears into nothing at the same time and doesn’t cover what I want it to.

The shade 2WO is a perfect match for my skin. I’m looking for a concealer that is a similar shade. Also a formula that blends nice enough into the skin so that when I only wear concealer on no foundation days it looks decent.
