He filmed an actual commercial for her that aired locally during NFL games today. This flies in the face of every public political stance he's taken in the last 5+ years. Very sad to see him expose himself as a fundamentally unserious person on this front. You have ZERO real values if you're so quick to forfeit them and the public good because you know someone. Starting to understand why his son works for OnlyInDade. Ugh.

There is ZERO reason for the current format of the network shows aside from laziness and ease. Having SEPARATE segments where you basically allow a Republican to voice their talking points and then follow it with a Dem to voice theirs (or vice versa) and then you go to a worthless panel discussion is exactly that- worthless on all fronts. Go back to having an active Republican and Democrat pol/government official on the SAME segments and go at each other. If the host can't moderate it then they have no business being a host. And the narrative that you wouldn't be able to book the segments is laughable when considering the thirst of ALL politicians. And let's say one day you can't get a Republican to show up. All you do is publicly state EVERY one by name that was afraid of whatever Dem is sitting there.

Let me preface this by saying this is in NO WAY an attack on Samson or his fundraising efforts but just a standard I HOPE the show sets in future discussion about this topic and the Kyra Fund.
David deserves the space and grace to get to this understanding but at some point you CANNOT discuss this matter and fundraising and ONLY say "the federal funding has dried up".
Private fundraising while a noble endeavor is essentially meaningless with an end result of being a vanity project IF it isn't coupled with governmental support at the university and pharmaceutical levels. Our tax dollars are the ONLY vehicle toward the results David is seeking and you simply have to espouse political values that support these investments or EVERYTHING else that you do focused on research will be impotent and insanely miniscule in fiscal size.
So, again, NOT an attack on Samson or the fund but just hoping that Dan or especially Mike broach WHY the federal dollars have "dried up" and how desperately they're needed in science/medicine. Both things can be done here- press people to privately fundraise WHILE demanding a government that not only doesn't undercut their hopes IN that fundraising but accelerates them.
Apologies for the rant. I just find this specific topic to be very important and people need to have a clear understanding of the macro issue while doing their goodwill on the micro levels.

Buttttt....today was an off-day. Leaning sooo hard into his anti-Heat shtick with the Bam deal is one thing but you can't immediately follow that by defending anything Conor McGregor 2026 related as being remotely serious. He actually made Dan seem like the reasoned coherent one on this front.
A) He's being held without bond so the situation might be severe
*Update/Edit: In Florida this typically happens until the accused goes before a judge- which is supposed to happen within 24 hrs of the arrest
B) This dude's Russini-esque professional "friend" circle is a who's who of assholes from Whitlock to Travis to Outkick as a whole to anyone who wants to keep politics out of sports....unless it's their own MAGA politics.
C) It'll be interesting to see how Max Kellerman addresses this. I largely exempt him from the previous category but all that means is he has way more credibility to potentially light on fire if this ends up being bad and he ignores it.
Is that the absolute worst human beings in the sports/political ecosphere (that I wish we wouldn't even give oxygen to) get to rarely not be entirely wrong when they call out Dan (and the show) for anything remotely close to journalism and journalism critiques.
You simply can't credibly attack anything like Strahan (an ultimate media lightweight) for doing a shallow interview in relation to journalistic standards when you've openly burned whatever remained of your own bona fides on this front. Freely saying you basically won't even cover Russini and Joy Taylor prior because they're "friends" and you're not in the business of "adding to their pain" comes with a cost whether you like it or not.
You're a conflicted compromised podcaster now, Dan....and that's profitable and easy but that's it. It was one thing Stu was 1000% right about. And we as show fans can't really credibly defend you or the show on this front when the biggest scumbags in your world make this point about your brazen hypocrisies- despite having a million of their own.

This exchange was precisely why Dan isn't capable of directing the ship on "political" topics. He can only function at the very superficial surface level so this exact face and subsequent stammering is what results when there's ANY pushback and/or deeper dive.
And look, I largely believe Dan's heart is in the right place or at least he approaches a lot of these subjects from the correct point of origin. He simply does not have the knowledge and intellectual curiosity to properly lead the discussion. Let Mike or Amin or even Jeremy do it. Hell, Shek initiating these topics and then letting others also lead is even more productive.
