Just some Yard flowers. Nikon D40X 2008 ( UV filter attached)
Experimenting with UV filter. Was hard to get the right ISO as its dark light and full sunlight.

I have D60, D40's and D40X's
Just last year I picked up two from two different people.
Low shutter counts, and with Lenes, was about 60.00
Seemed fair for a decades old camera. These are amazing Camera.
But I noticed the last month I decided to buy and extra one and the
Bodies alone are going for 50+ add a lens and the clock up to 150 some beyond.
So I did a search to see and sure enough what I was paying was normal a few YTBers say the same.
Then of course it now make sense. Limited inventory of these and welcome to capitalism.
My question is, (because I never kept track) Does this mean they will now always be higher?
Or does it wear off?
Id like another one of each, but I know they are asking more then I think is fair.
Only based on the fact they were not like that even last year.
Started with VHS, rented video games, then DVDs and CDs and then closed.
Cant compete with streaming. Was the last store in the city to close.
Hi there, this was taken with a Sony Mavica FD91 was released in 1999.
Has according to specs about 1MP. I tried to do my best as these use floppies and you can not breath or move this close. I was maybe 3inches to get it clear.
The FD91 does have a macro setting and it has a Macro lens addon that came with it when I got it last year.
I have a Macro Lens that came with the FD91, I am not sure if its closer without it.
But it seems allot more detailed.
I am breaking back into B&W photos it is something I used to always do.
I am using my Nikons mostly then recalled the FD had a lens and macro settings so tried it out.
It was tricky to be still enough to not get blur. I think I did ok.
I have a bunch of Mavicas and addon lenses for them.
I was wondering has anyone tried to add tubes to the lenses?
I am doing this with my older Nikons, but have not looked closely to see if.
A: its even worth it.
B: It could be done.
Just a thought I had today.
Thanks
I am a paid customer of Tuta. I am using free Proton.
This is my unbiased view after 6 months.
I hate leaving such a negative especially since they asked me to do Beta testing on the drive.
I feel there is a strong disconnect from the customer, it comes across as they do not care.
I think the issues I placed in the review are the CEO's fault, the company is poorly run, the software is what one would expect if it was free, but a paying customer like me it is unacceptable. I get it, some love Tuta, but my experience is, I can not take them serious. Because they do not take customers serious.
EDIT: PS I am not trying to draw negativity towards Tuta, they wont respond and sometime getting a review out can help wake a company up. The post 4. I base it on myself and several other post that have said the same.
I felt like it was off, as all the attention in a few minutes, over regular post getting a few all day. Just felt off. Maybe they are using AI ?
Not only are the cameras I use Old school. So am I.
I actually had my first taste of film, learning TV production on Black and white.
( aging myself here ).
I really love Black and white / Grey scale.
I either it a mechanical or mental road block.
I think I have my Macro figured out from a previous post, by a reverse ring and tubes.
But I can't add colored lenses if I reverse the lens.
So trying to do Black and white / grey scale macros.
Maybe I missing something? Post production would be simple and easy.
However I try and pride myself on being technical and methodical when I snap a photo.
So using a older camera, then using modern post edits seems sacrilegious ☕
I should have studied more in recent years. I went aside from great scale.
Which I have been told I have a knack for them, probably from being raised on them.
So id like to get back into it with these camera.
I do have a Nikon D100 not really used much if that helps.
I have Nikon D40, D40X and D60 And prefer to stay with these.
I actually really like the D40x even though its not as modern as the D60
Thank You,
Usually the app runs fast today took 5 minutes to load, then another 2 minutes to retrieve.
There was no update so this is not normal.
So I am starting to lean back into Macro, but usually used my Phones over the years.
But I want start taking more Macros with these older Nikons.
I am trying not to break the bank, so unsure what are the best price effective macros.
I have several lenses to try that I have but, I just never used my Cameras for more then shots
that were close, but not macro.
I appreciate any ideas thoughts, PS I am not opposed not none AF, but it would make it easier.
I paid 150.00 plus 12.00 arrived in 1 day.
It came with All you see, plus battery and nice SD card.
Had only 2500 shutter counts. It looks and feels new.
No dust, on anything.
I have a D40 and D60 I do not use modern cameras.
I like the D40X and wanted one for awhile. It has functioned flawless.
I realize its basically a 18 year old Camera. But wondered was this a
Great, Good, or Fair price?
To me the shutter count was a big part of what I didn't know when I bought it.
Seller did not know, but based on the condition I took a chance.
Nice thing is it can use the other two cameras lenses. And now gives me charger and battery redundancies.
First post in group. Went from film to these. I have owned my D60 since new in 2008 under a special package deal they had with many back then.
