What are you looking forward to?

Triangulating the Stone Wall within the Pale Heart

Theory. based on available lore in the Euphony page.

Euphony (The Traveller)

Euphony means "good sound". It describes language that sounds smooth, pleasing, musical, and soothing to the ear.

_

Cacophony (The Witness)

Cacophony means "bad sound". It describes language that sounds harsh, rough, discordant, and unmusical.

_

Ideology/Theory:

Based on the meaning and relationship between Euphony and Cacophony. While the Euphony is softer and lighter and it might represent the guardians or the traveller and the good in the Destiny universe, the Dread are the absolute opposite. their grunts, screams, entering a battlefield are all jarring sounds which make it a Cacophony, so from the % match (Lore) I started by separating them into 2 categories. which would be Euphonic and which would be Cacophonic? then, driven by that separation it would give me the next step for triangulation.

_

Done properly, the split does give a next step, though not the one the percentages suggest. Here is the separation, then what the numbers actually say, then the step that follows.

The split (sound of the English rendering, plosive test from your screenshot)

Category Phrases Confidence
Cacophonic (plosive-led, clipped) plucked · rupture · buttresses · tuned 34 · 68 · 46 · 77
Euphonic (liquids, nasals, sibilants, long vowels) softer · beingness · atmosphere · sweet music · vibration reverberates · golden harp 72 · 84 · 15 · 37 · 18 · 25
Mixed, soft opening then hard close balance of distress · they crest then fade · we are the hand that plucks 4 · 9 · 2

One caveat sits over the whole table!

These are the sounds of the translator's English, not of the Pyramid words, so a phonetic split can only reflect the writer's word choices, not the original language.

What the percentages track

I tested both readings. Confidence has no relationship with the soft/hard consonant balance (Spearman ρ ≈ −0.16, p ≈ 0.6; the same within single words only).

It has a strong one with phrase length:

Single words average 57%,
Two-word phrases 27%,
Three-plus words 2–9% (ρ ≈ −0.79, p ≈ 0.001).

That is exactly how a real machine translator behaves when it compounds per-word uncertainty, so the numbers are in-fiction texture, not a sound-coded key.

The split that does show up is semantic.....

Every music-specific term is low:
(harp 25, plucked 34, sweet music 37, reverberates 18, crest/fade 9, hand that plucks 2)

While the non-musical single words are high:
(beingness 84, tuned 77, softer 72, rupture 68).

Read in-fiction: the Pyramid language has no native vocabulary for music, and the translator strains wherever the Witness reaches for it.

That fits the epigraph........the Final Shape reframed from silence to symphony, and it fits the mapping of the Dread:

Cacophony is what the Witness and its Dread natively are
Euphony is what the Witness is claiming.

The author of the wall is the Cacophonic party borrowing the other side's concept!

_

The step that follows.....

Taking the dichotomy literally and the card describes a structure with two poles:

"Two buttresses, strings pulled between them, held at a "balance of distress" that would rupture if wound further."

Pale heart Map;

If Euphony is the Traveler's side (Left) and Cacophony the Witness's (Right), the harp is the Pale Heart itself, the buttresses are the garden side and the corrupted side, and the wall belongs at the point of balance between them, not deep inside either.

The map names its boundary cells for exactly that condition:

The Impasse (a standoff), The Divide, The Threshold, The Transgression (a crossing). Apply the stone-wall constraint to that set and one cell survives:

The Impasse, the memory of the City's outer wall, stone by definition, buttressed by design, and "florid" reads as the overgrowth that covers everything there.

The two hypotheses now predict different places.

Hypothesis A (the Witness carves its own architecture) says Verity and the Iconoclasm arena.

Hypothesis B (tension point) says the Impasse wall, with the Requiem mission version of it, the Threshold and the Divide's crossing as the secondary set.

Both are cheap to check: walk the wall, photograph every recessed panel that sits between two buttresses, and prioritise spots where roots, cables or Strand threads span the gap.

Update:

Had time to stitch the full map from bray.tech and think about search patterns. Check below.
