Mine is "heh" during the boss fight. Yup, just "heh". Something about the way he says that just fits his character on a fundamental level, I know it sounds silly but I just love it. Heh. *shoots laser*

I know his design is a masterpiece of character design and it carries a lot of symbolism but if there was an in-universe explanation, what do you think is the reason for why he choses to dress that way? Like why does he wear things like: crow themed acessories, very sharp accessories, a wing, belts, sexy af boots, elixir in an earring, and a choker harness that goes under his clothes?

I personally think the abundance of sharp objects is to look intimidating on purpose because he willingly lives the villain role imposed on him. Imo (headcanon) he's a bit afraid of intimacy and dresses with sharp objects to prevent hugs 💔 and the mask is shaped like that so it's hard to kiss him 💔 but at the same time he still likes to show off his body (why else would he dress in the world's tightest full bodysuit in his boss form) but he doesn't like to actually make himself vulnerable except for maybe if there was someone he trusted 100%.

As for the harness, I like to imagine it's because it's the only safe way he can get the feeling of being hugged because he understandably doesn't trust people.

He definitely has a thing for belts, that's for sure. Lots and lots of belts 🤤

Dottore's Simulanka placeholder Boborano's ancestor Antonio's story is this:

"Wise Antonio, in the basement

of the crumbling house,

began reading the ancient book

he had found. His oil

lamp shook from time to time

as the swaying structure above-ground

collapsed.

The village was to be symbolically razed

by the dragon, and he

had been chosen by the dragon,

for he had not returned home. But

Antonio did not care.

He only wished to study

the book the old lady had given him

on the bridge he passed today.

This book was titled the

"Radiant▉C▉arter," and within

was re▉or▉▉d all the rules that

every bei▉▉▉in Simulanka

must follow. It was written in the language

of world's creation at the very start,

and if Antonio was not possessed of

extraordinary wisdom, and deciphered this

primordial text, there would have been

no study to be had.

This book recorded no solutions

as to resolving the difficulty

that Constellation Satellite

presently faced, nor did it contain

any hexes that could aid

Antonio in repairing his own home.

But he knew

that wisdom was the mightiest thing

in the world.

The morning light shone through

the ruins of his home, and the neighboring

blacksmith and chubby chief took

great pains to get rid of the house's

wreckage, which blocked the basement hatch.

With dark circles about his eyes,

Antonio said to the chubby chief:

"I shall defeat the dragon.

I will return soon."

"Are you sure you're alright?

You don't look like you got any sleep."

"Just smoke from the oil lamp.

Don't worry about it."

The dragon sat atop a mountain

of treasures, gazing down

at insignificant little Antonio walking

closer. Flames gathered

in its throat, preparing to burn

the area one centimeter before him,

all the better to scare this puny,

foolish creature away.

"Halt! I'm a qualified 2nd-class Meister!

The 'Radiant Charter' states that

should I refuse a duel, you cannot

use force."

This restriction did indeed exist,

and so the wicked dragon

swallowed its flames whole — ah, how it

dreaded going to the toilet tomorrow.

Antonio, for his part, had not expected

that the 2nd-class

rust-clearing Meister qualification exam he

had taken on a lark would come in useful.

"And since I am a 2nd-class

Meister, I propose

a duel of riddles. You cannot refuse!"

Now, Simulanka had just such a law, mainly

for the benefit of sphinxes, old sages, and

princesses who wished to make life hard for

others. The evil dragon had not expected

this rule to catch up with it.

"I shall ask the first question:

My house sold for 8,000 Mora yesterday

But I thought there was room

to raise the price, so I

bought it back for 9,000,

planning to sell it for 10,000.

How much Mora did I lose in the end?"

The dragon laughed in contempt.

"What's so hard about that?

You could have waited until

it hit 10,000 to make your move,

But you sold for 8,

and bought for 9, so you

lost 1,000 Mora, that you

could have earned instead!"

"Wrong. You burned my house

down yesterday, and I couldn't

sell it in time, so I've lost far more."

"S—Sorry. I mean,

I do have to burn a house, and you

happened not to be home,

so I might as well hit one that doesn't

result in any loss of life."

"Now that you've lost this

contest, I have the right

to loot of the same value

as your life, minus 1 Mora.

And considering that

you've burned my house, I can

seek damages. Let's assume that

my house is worth just 1 Mora...

Well, then, wicked dragon,

you know what to do with yourself."

"P—Please spare me. I'll give you

anything!"

"Your words, not mine," Antonio said

as he pulled out a contract

he had written long ago.

Thus did Antonio use his

wisdom to take all the evil

dragon's treasures.

The dragon, devastated, would never

again return to attack

Constellation Satellite,

where Antonio lived.

Many years later, a child asked Antonio:

"You sold your place for 8,000

and spent 9,000 buying it back,

so it looks like you actually

did lose 1,000 Mora?"

Albizzi's, Boborano's and Cappet's ancestor stories are all meant to be foreshadowings of that of the top 3 Harbingers stories. Boborano has Antonio. Antonio's house burned and he hides in the basement. In the same manner, what's left of Dottore is in the roots of the Irminsul that Nahida very specifically stated were intact (for what use is this information, if not for foreshadowing a future plot?)

After his return, Antonio has to defeat a dragon, one who is in possession of large amounts of mora (?) and he does so in a battle of wits, quite like Dottore's style.

At first I thought the dragon could be Pierro, or even himself, but the way Pantalone has been portrayed in recent promotional material makes it seem to me like he will be the dragon because not only is his outfit dragon-like, he's also a strategist in possession od huge amounts of mora. And we see hands from the ground reaching towards him.

The main thing that points against the dragon being Pantalone is the fact that his dynamic with Dottore has been established to be very friendly, and making them hostile towards each other would piss off some people and I'm not sure Hoyo would risk that.

A way they could work around this is by treating both Pantalone and Segment 35 collectively as the dragon responsible for burning Zandik's house, and Zandik himself would be treated as a different character that the evil Dottore. So Dottore in the form of Segment 35 will remain on friendly terms with Pantalone as we know them, while both could be set as antagonistic (dragon) to the reborn Zandik (Antonio) however the implications of this is that playable Zandik would be very different in both appearance and personality, in order to separate him from Dottore the villain.

I don't think Zandik would end up killing the dragon, it was portrayed as a battle of wits after all.

The dragon could also end up being something/someone we don't know yet, or it could be one of the shades. Who do y'all think it is?

I remember someone telling me he likes him 😭😭😭 but it's long ago and I didn't get a source, and I want to verify because shit is looking bad for Dottore, he doesn't even seem to have a kit in the first place.

How do we make Zajef... not like him? Quick? Out of every CC, most of whom hate Dottore, I really don't want Zajef, out of everyone, to be a Dottore glazer, when right now Dottore's kit isn't merely bad - doesn't even exist!!

I think the most optimistic theory I have is that he's gonna be a catalyst character and Geo because Sumeru doesn't have a Geo character yet.

I don't want him to be Geo, but it's something I came to based on many theories, but it's too long for me to write all of it here and now, and I've explained it before. Also none of the characters revealed for Snezhnaya look like they could be Geo. There seem to be characters for every element except for Geo and Dendro.

As for how he'll return, I have no idea 🤷‍♀️ everyone seems to hate him and only Pantalone would want him back as it stands. I think it could be related to getting the Pyro gnosis. Something like this: The gnosis got stuck inside the burnt roots of the Irminsul, and Dottore is accidentally pulled out with it in some way. He has no memories, so those resin-like objects could be used for him to recover them.

As much as I fear the worst case scenario of him being an unplayable villain once again when reborn, I would make no sense for it to happen. That would be the equivalent to the Tsaritsa ending up like the Belyi Tsar as a result of a war against Celestia. it would be anticlimatic and disappointing. Either he's just gone for good, or he achieved enlightenment by the purifying fire. It was Segment 35 who burned. Same age as the Buddha when he achieved enlightenment under the Bodhi tree, or Bo tree for short... wait, isn't The Doctor's title "Bo Shi" in Chinese?

Simulanka predicted it perfectly. He's gonna learn ultimate wisdom at the remaining roots of the tree, which Nahida very conveniently said are the only things that remains of it. Who else achieved enlightenment under a tree? Odin, the norse mythology god of both wisdom and war. Who is one-eyed (like some segments) and is associated with ravens.

This post primarily talks about his voice in the EN dub but I may mention other dubs too.

Since I first met Dottore in 2022 and up until today, his voice never failed to do bring me to a state of absolute awe, and it only got better in 6.3. There's just *something* about his voice that seduces me, makes me fall to my knee, makes me want to obey him; worship him, venerate the ground he walks on. More than anything, he sounds like he is someone who is always in control and even though he was defeated in Nod Krai the stunt was part of a plan to enter the leylines. Meaning for the entire time in 6.3, he was in control and that makes the voicelines from that version even more perfect to me even though I'm not much of a fan of the continuation 6.6.

His voice has a special effect on me, as if it speaks to my very soul. Namely, he sounds like someone for whom it is natural law that people are beneath him and should bend to his will. And he doesn't sound like your typical egomanical narcissistic villain, where you can hear that they're full of themselves and gloating at every second to make up for a weak yet inflated ego. No, he really sounds genuinely powerful, confident and assured of his status (although I know he secretly hates himself because we were told that in Nahida's fairy tale, poor guy 🫤)

A thing I especially like about his voice is when he talks to us as if we're an animal to be trained during the boss fight. He gives us comments and you can just hear in his voice that he means it as commands, not suggestions.

An interesting thing to note is that he (in the English dub) uses speech patterns remiscent of BDSM, I believe they did this on purpose, for the fans. Genshin has had characters before with BDSM-esque voice direction, a prime example is Lisa who has the voice of a gentle femdom.

I checked the original Chinese dub and he makes commends there too and has that same obedience-inducing effect too except (in my opinion) he's sounds a bit more likely to be a bottom since Wu Lei has BL roles as the bottom

I'l remind you that whether one is dominant or submissive in bed isn't inherently connected to whether one prefers to be a top or bottom. In some BL, you may see the bottom commanding the top who acts more like a servant than an authority.

While CN is good in its own way my fav remains the English dub, EN Dottore's voice is magical, enchanting, otherworldly, carrying authority as if it's natural law.

But the BDSM thing alone doesn't even come close to explaining just how perfectly Dottore's voice hits right where it needs to, it feels like the world stops and time stands still when he talks.

Likes like "let's see how much you can struggle BEFORE YOU DROWN" and "Once I transcend fate you will be nothing but fodder for my grand experiment" and THAT LAUGH, that DAMN LAUGH, I have NOTHING appropriate to say here. Yes, Dottore, yes please spank me, harder please, nmmggghhhh, step on me plz, let me get a taste of moon milk from that glowing blue cock I know you have, 💦💦💦 nnnghmnmnmnmn 😋🤤 I just KNOW it tastes sweet and has the perfect immaculate consistency, no clumps and all, just delicious white moon milk of perfect thickness 😋

But anyways am I the only one who has this HUGE weakness for his voice to the point where he could say anything with that voice and I'd obey without question???

There's a spicy video/voiceline compilation audio I saw once but I since haven't been able to find it 🫤 it's a video where Dottore voicelines from the game and from Mick Wingert's streams are clipped together in such a way that it sounds like you're on a date with him and there's cafe music in the background in some scenes. In the second half of the video there's a steamy scene that starts with smooth jazz while he says "Beg. Beg me to stop" and similar phrases, but then the smooth jazz stops and it switches to the voice lines of his first boss fight put together to make it sound like a rather rough BDSM session. Afaik there was a scene meant to sound like aftercare too but I'm not sure.

The video was made around between January and March this year and title was something like "POV: you're on a date with Dottore"

If you find the video I assure you Dottore will be proud, he'll definitely spare you the tests as a reward, unless you're into it of course, then he'll double down 🥵🙏🙏🙏

Even before 6.6 I predicted that the devs could have used this song as an inspiration for Dottore's storyline.

Now after 6.6 has ended, it seems like it continues to line up shockingly well, I'm theorizing the writers did this deliberately, and that future events could line up with the song as well, and if it's the case it's a very good sign.

Here's the song and my takes on how it could have been used as an inspiration for Dottore's story:

(Despite the unethical nature of Dottore's actions, they often result in making the world a better place, even the times when it's not his intention, things surprisingly turn out better, which has been pointed out by people here before)

(Self explanatory)

(This is interesting because Snezhnaya's previews revealed that the Traveler is gonna wield a gun in Snezhnaya, and out first gun looks visually like something Dottore could have made, or at least it's based on his research even if we can't be certain he'll get credit)

(Dottore seemed eeriely calm right after both of his defeats)

"Even though you broke my heart"

(In the scene where he said, in English, "this is most disappointing", he instead said "this breaks my heart" in Chinese)

"And killed me."

(Self explanatory)

And threw every piece into a fire."

(In Chinese, segments are called "slices/pieces" and we saw all his segments being burned by Nahida along with the Irminsul)

"As they burned it hurt

because I was so happy for you!"

(This is one of the things that, if my theory is correct, will be revealed in the future. But imo it has already been implied that he doesn't have ill will towards the Traveler)

"Now these points of data"

(Dottore's second boss form is called "DrData" internally)

"Make a beautiful line."

(There is a scene where red clouds of data inside the Irminsul are lined up. It's implied that these represent Dottore's segments, as he talked about his segments during the scene where they appeared.)

"And we're out of beta.

We're releasing on time."

(We know Dottore isn't a poor rock climber who doesn't know how to finish a particularly challenging climb, but rather a lomg-awaited character in a gacha game that people have long wanted to be playable. So if this sentence has meaning to him, it's certainly a good meaning. *something* is gonna be released.)

"So I'm GLaD. I got burned.

(Dottore considers the burning of himself with the tree as something the world can learn a lot from)
