At first, I thought it was the Desiree face mold, but after looking at it more closely, it's definitely not. The Desiree face mold has a bigger smile and more defined nasal folds. This new face mold has a much more serene smile, and its face shape and nose are much closer to the Mbili face mold.

Looking at this brand-new doll, I kept wondering, how did they mess this up when they’ve already made several Marilyn Monroe dolls in the past, some of which even use the same face mold? This doll uses the Aphrodite face mold, which is basically just the open-mouth version of the Mackie face mold.

So I made an edit where I gave her a face screening similar to the 2008 "Barbie as Marilyn Monroe Blonde Ambition" doll💋.

When making this, I wanted to give Millie an updated look that would still keep her sweet, approachable appearance (because we all know Mattel would never give her a fierce face 😅), while adding a little more glamour.

For her eyes, I combined elements of the early 2010s Generation Girl screening with the Toy Story 4 Superstar Barbie's eyes. I wanted them to be rounder while still looking soft, sweet, and friendly.

For her lips, I didn't want to give her the wide smile that Mattel usually gives Millie. Instead, I wanted a more subtle, demure smile. I was inspired by the way Superstar Barbie's lips were painted, especially the distinctive "M" shape on the upper lip.

I feel that if Mattel isn't going to change Barbie's face mold (which they probably won't, especially with the recent rebrand and their move toward more childlike artwork), they should at least update the face screening. I think a refreshed screening alone could make a huge difference.

At first, I wanted to give her a screening style that was still similar to the other Fashion Frontier dolls, which had a more 2D look. But then I realized it doesn't really work, especially with the Daya face mold.

Here's the thing, I feel like they're trying to mimic the screening style Barbie had back in the early '90s. However, that style worked back then because the face molds they used had a lot more sculpted details around the eye area. Nowadays, most face molds especially playline ones like the Daya face mold lack a lot of those sculpted details and just ended up looking flat.

I'm not really an expert when it comes to doll hair. I can usually identify whether it's saran, nylon, or poly, but other than that, I'm not very good at styling it, so I mostly just boilwash my dolls.

Two of my recent dolls have developed this weird issue where the middle section of their hair has a frizzy texture. You can see it more clearly in my bubble sparkle mermaid's hair.

Does anyone know what causes this and how to get rid of it? I've already boil-washed both of their hair twice, but the frizziness/weird texture is still there 🫠.

Just wanted to share these two cuties, my Odile is currently wearing the wave one deluxe style Millie outfit cause I know I'll never get the Midge variant😔, they look so cute together😍.

I was looking at different Barbie body types, and then I realized that the Ballet Wishes body and an articulated Silkstone body are very similar, to be specific the torso. I even think their arm molds are exactly the same. I kind of find it fascinating and just wanted to share 😅.

I really like the concept art design that's in the box but I feel like it wasn't translated well into a doll, so here's a simple edit I made to make her look more similar to the box art.

When I was unboxing her, I noticed something the back of her head seems to have an indent. The thing is, I also own the pink haired Odile Mermaid, and I noticed that she has the same issue. At first, I thought I had just gotten unlucky, so I brushed it off.

But then I kept looking at other pink-haired Odile Mermaids in stores, and they all seemed to have that problem too. The strange thing is that it only appears to affect the open mouth Odile sculpt, not the closed-mouth version.

It is now confirmed that the Barbie Signature Collector Nutcracker doll is a reproduction. She will look like the original doll but on a new body, more details to come.

Ignore the bad lighting 😅, but I finally got the Barbie Deluxe Styles Wave 4 Chase Variant with the Superstar face mold!

Now for my review. First, I don't know if it's just the bad lighting, but I think my doll is slightly wonky. Second, the dress is a little ill fitting and tends to slip down sometimes. My third complaint is that my doll's hair is a bit sparse at the front. It's not terrible, but compared to some of my other dolls, like the Blonde Odile Playset, you can see her scalp a little.

I don't know if it's because she shed a lot of hair when I boil washed her. I've never had a doll shed this much hair before, and I'm always careful when brushing my dolls' hair, so I know it wasn't me. When she arrived, her part line was messy because of the sunglasses, so I tried to fix it.

Now that her hair has dried, it looks fine, but you can still see a little bit of her scalp. Despite that, she's really pretty in person, and maybe I just got unlucky with the one I received. Overall, I'm still very satisfied with her 🩷.

Last year, I posted a Millie edit inspired by Bratz Fashion Pixiez (I think it got deleted either because the mods thought it was AI generated which it wasn't or because I mentioned Bratz).

Now my edit has become a reality thanks to schiffer_ma / u/Visible-Try-3972 on IG📷. I never would have thought that my edit would become a reality 😍. Thank you🩷
