So, results are out. Take two minutes to read this.

Finally KEA has given out results, and as seen, people aren't very happy with the inflation, ranks have been double than the expected rank, people are blaming PU being easier than CBSE (true) and that improvement exams shouldn't exist (I agree with that too), but hear me out for a second.

I'm over 30 years old, have taught physics for 10 years, have seen this happen multiple times to multiple students. They put is their hardwork, they study day in and day out but the results aren't in their favour.

But I have seen one more thing, those who do not give up and consistently put their effort towards learning new things and developing skills consistently over time, succeed in life.

Whatever happened, has happened. If you've got a great rank, we the people salute you for your hardwork and commitment and wish you the best.

If you've not got the rank you expected, don't worry, because worrying will not change your rank, won't calm down your parents, won't stop your neighbours from asking "oh matte, CET results yen aitu???" So just let it be, worrying isn't going to solve anything.

One thing is certain. Your competitors worked harder, it's okay. Now, the competition part is over, real world begins. No more ranks percentages. It's CGPA now.

So please make sure that you don't worry about that rank you've obtained, keep your eye on the ball, and the community will be with you. We will be with you.

I sincerely hope that you'll still be active on reddit and will come back here after 10 years and tell your success story and tell your juniors, not to worry.

All the best guys, stay happy, believe in yourself. Good things will happen to you!!!

Building a serious competor website to all lead gen websites

TLDR: Need feature advice for building engineering stream directory.

I've been building a website that lists all engineering colleges for the last 7 months and currently I'm floating around 6th position overall and even top 3 for some search terms.

Since the sub doesn't allow promotion, I'll not name the website, but the idea is this. My website doesn't ask for phone numbers, and I don't plant fake Data such as huge campus, 100 percent placements and stuff.

I'm taking data from NIRF submissions (even that's not accurate, but that's the best out there), mandatory discloses, NAAC / NBA accreditations and what not and I've filled half the college data.

All the colleges already show courses, intake, cet cut-off, many key factors.

The help I need from you guys is - what would you like to see in a website that lists all colleges?

Name the features and I'll create a roadmap and will implement them.

What I already have:

Find nearby colleges

Compare 3 colleges side by side

Options entry helper (category and reservation supported)

Rank prediction (not very accurate)

Flash cards and small tests (early stage)

College rating from Google (53 done, filling others)

If you need specific features that you think will help students, I'll build it within my limited capacity.

Shoot some suggestions guys!!!

Engineering colleges which cannot maintain a website

Okay I'm trying to read NIRF filings from all colleges in Karnataka day in and day out - and the sheer negligence of some colleges makes me question, how on earth are they even running an engineering college!!

Now I'll bring spotlight to the college which is currently the champion in this aspect: **Karavali Institute of Technology, Mangalore.**

Let me share some links first:

Their parent group domain: https://karavalicollege.com?course=karavali-institute-of-technology

Go to their engineering section and tap there.

Next: COMEDK official site listing: https://ComedK.org/college-karavali-institute-of-technology

All these lead to their actual domain which looks like what the screenshot looks like.

Like, come on guys, it's admission season, KCET and COMEDK results will be out and you can't maintain your website for god's sake?

Now should you consider this college? I'll leave that to your judgement.

College Predictor using COMEDK rank

So I've built a number of tools over the past six months and this is one of them

Say hello to COMEDK predictor - enter your rank and check which colleges you may get a seat in according to historical cutoff.

ComedK College Predictor

I am currently scraping NIRF submission from all colleges and adding them into the college page, breakdown of placement, research, everything.

In a week's time that'll be done too.

No login / sign up.

If you see any discrepancy, do let me know in the comments!
